A few things to make the Feast more active next season with rewards with least work

A big thing about Feast right now and pvp in general is that the rewards seem to be paltry and meager while at the same time seemingly unattainable. I mean, with a MMO with over a million players, a lot of people may find top 100 to be just a dream and they won't go through the trouble of playing the Feast.

My first suggestion, make the Feast armor rewards go as follows that you receive as you rank up:

Bronze - Bronze Necklace and Feast Boots
Silver - Silver Necklace and Feast Gloves
Gold - Gold Necklace and Feast Legs
Platinum - Platinum Necklace and Feast Body
Diamond - Diamond Necklace and Feast Crown

I personally like this because you won't have people fretting over losing rank....... and therefore not playing for the rest of the season over cool looking glamour. It also pushed people to play more. It also effectively increases the number of rewards by five times, instead of giving everything out in one spot you spread it out and make it look substantially more and while the glamour rewards won't necessarily increase for top 100 players, they certainly do for more casual players which is the whole point.

Feast rewards regarding the top 100 and top 10 should be as given out at the end of the season as follows:

Top 100 - Special Mount
Top 10 - Special Title
Top 1 - Trophy

Another thing that would be cool is to give out a little badge representing your current tier, similar those Mentor crowns everyone goes crazy about. Think about people obsessed with looking 'pro' but never having interest in PVP? When they see that pro player with a diamond next to their name they will want it too, simple as that. Whether or not they should be given as you rank up AND down in tier or given out at the end of the season is up for debate. I personally think given out as you go, again to prevent stagnation.

I really believe this is superior to SE's current system and it also has less work involved than other things I have thought up of as you only have to implement the new icons to put next to peoples names in game(should be easy, they have done it before with mentor crowns), adding one mount, adding one title. Only 3 relatively small things to implement while everything else already comes with the Feast regardless of the system.

Hope you all will like this idea and I hope SE STRONGLY considers doing this as it fixes a lot of the problems of non participation, sitting on rating, lack of rewards and belief that those rewards are unattainable and therefore not worth wasting the time.

edit: I also want to add one more thing to discourage one type of behavior that might show up with heightened participation and that is more lore/eso farmers. Make wins reward 30 eso 15 lore while losses only get 10 eso 5 lore. Makes losing a waste of time. Numbers can be changed but really this should happen regardless.

When you consider that the chest piece is what is the most visible and that there are less than 20 players ranked platinum or diamond in all but 1 data center, this would probably make it even more exclusive. Sure there might be more platinum players if people don't stop playing, but I doubt we'd reach over 100; it would likely be closer to the 45-50 Mana currently has. I doubt that a pair of pants is going to make it so one person stuck in silver will persevere. If we look at the current season, gold seems like a noble enough goal that everyone can reach if they put the effort in it, so I think that just having the whole set, minus the helm, be given at that rank, would be acceptable.

Also, necklaces are such a dumb idea that needs to be reviewed. They're small and barely noticeable and they even get hidden by a lot of armor.

I agree with all that. Mounts, titles and icons feel like a much more permanent and enticing reward than some set of armor.

However, I do not believe that these changes would be enough to prevent any kind of stagnation. People can still stop once they reach a spot they feel is safe. The only thing that will prevent that is to enforce a decay for inactivity. They also need to look into role matchmaking because we all know a gold dps + bronze healer is not equivalent to bronze dps + gold healer. Finally, a bit of class balance wouldn't hurt as monks and warriors are over represented in their respective roles.

I am thinking in terms of more people playing the game. I think top 100 should be comprised of mostly diamond players which would be more possible with more people actively interested in the feast. If that ALSO means lowering the requirements to get into certain tiers in order to reflect that idea then I would be fine with that.

For example:

Bronze 200-400 rating
Silver 400-700 rating
Gold 700- 1000 rating
Platinum 1000- 1300 rating
Diamond 1300+

If the feast gets enough participation the ratings can be changed by season based on percentages and rating trends to have the appropriate amount of people in certain tiers. Such as if the they want Diamond to be top 10% of players and top 10% is usually 2000+ then they can adjust it as such.

That does make some sense. Make it a bit easier to rank up so more people actually reach them, while keeping a carrot at the top for people to keep trying to get higher once they reach the highest rank.

I like the idea of progressive rewards, because it might drive people to keep pushing to get the rest of the outfit. It is kind of similar to the way rewards are handled in Raids, in that once you get a few pieces of gear you start to strive for the rest of the outfit. For example, nobody wanted just the high allagan boots of fending back in the Second Coil days. You wanted the whole kit and caboodle. It didn't even matter if you needed it or not. It just felt wrong to only have a few pieces and not the whole thing. Having a system like this in place would be nice to keep an active incentive, even for players who simply don't get enough time to even be in the running for those top 100 spots.

Necklaces, though, need to be replaced with something else. Unless that necklace provides some sort of PvP advantage, which I'm sure most people would consider unfair, then they're utterly pointless. Personally, I do think that there's potential for PvP specific accessories to be useful in some way. They may even provide an interesting solution to SE's Morale problem, but that's a whole other can of worms that SE is unlikely to ever even look at, let alone attempt to fix. Right now they're just a glamour item, and a useless one at that because no would even see it.

Why not just give us a NPC with rewards that you can buy based on the tier you have currently. Lets say you are bronze you can buy some gear (not that cool ofc) etc. and for diamond you can exchange the currency you get for a mount, cool looking gear etc. That would make people aim for the specific tier like diamond but also keep new players in because they can get rewards for their tier. Sure it wouldnt be so exclusive like the rewards we have currently but I think making the rewards even more impossible to get for new people isnt a good way to keep the mode active.

not only for new players, i think this mode is a fight for the top 100, all the players not fighting for this don't have any reason to queue.
it include : new players, casuals players but also already well classed players,
so only players stucked between silver and gold have a good reason for queueing.
it's why your idea is not wrong,
why not let all the players get the same gear but the color change if you are ranked higher :
bronze gear
silver gear
gold gear
platinium gear
diamond gear
it can be the same gear with different color till you reach gold, and shining gear for platinium and diamond.

This is true and I agree, but when SE only releases 1-2 new armor sets per large patch I am skeptical they would actually devote time to add in a unique set for every tier just for PVP. We can be hopeful I suppose.

This is probably a more realistic idea than the previous one. You just have to prevent the gear from being dyeable as currently it seems as though the top 100 rewards are dyeable. This would be to prevent people being bronze looking like a gold player with gold dye, make people get better to look better.

YA he has the right Idea, I personally believe having icons similar to the mentor crown would be a superior idea to titles especially how crazy people went over the crowns.
