No EXP in HM dungeons?

TBH this seems like a horrible choice in game design.

Even if you help friends with HM dungeons you get literally nothing because they give you an obsolete currency (poetics) and absolutely no exp. If the dungeons are lvl 50, why don't they give exp?

I know the feeling, it's the worst game design I see in this game, starting with a timer, the most stupidest thing you can add to the game (unless it's a speed run challenge), which is a demoralizing symbolism when someone left your group and your whole entire party vote abandoment because someone didn't join in less then 5 minutes... MOST STUPIDEST THING EVER DESIGNED...

Not even World of Warcraft done this unless it's a special mechanic, Not even Tera Online or even Everquest II (as far as I have played) have done this... Square enix... wtf are you thinking?

This is probably the reason why most people DONT do hard mode anymore because there is nothing for them there at all... might as well don't do any of the sub quest and move on to something that WORTH doing shit.

It's likely because those are dungeons that everyone is over geared for.

They also don't have the artificial barriers like the HW dungeons have that prevent speed runs. It would make these dungeons the most efficient way to level and that's why they have no experience

Not really if HM dungeons gave exp compairable to normal mobs outside for the group 800~1000 per kill then from 50 to 51 it would fast and easy but post 51 when your exp per level jumps you would have to kill 2000~3000 mobs to get a level. there is maybe 40~50 mobs per dungeon? NT is more efficient for your time. And this is with the level cap as Uncapped dungeons only give exp on boss fights.

the complaint here is that IF the dungeons gave EXP 50+ then people would do them. I don't HL/LL roulette because the exp for completing them and the amount you get is to low. i can run NT or Leviquest in the same time and get MORE then those dungeons do to the lack of Exp on mobs. sorry adding exp to them won't break the game but no exp is just silly.

Whats NT? Also I'd rather put a bullet between my eyes than run hours and hours of levequests. And 200-300k for a 15-20 minute in high level roulette isn't exactly something to scoff at.

I only support this at all if it is for the dungeons that are not required for story reasons, so that people going through the story are not really overleveled for HW when they hit it

Why would that matter? It's no different than doing the standard story at this point, you get XP from quests that are level 50 now of which there are roughly 100 leading up to the expansion, doing them will overlevel you regardless. It's similar to how if you do your story quests from 1 to 50 you'll end up overleveled provided you do sidequests along the way. I mean I have a new character who's already at 22 and it has yet to even unlock, let alone run Sastasha, and in running it I'll get even more XP putting me even further into being overleveled.

I mean, to me it doesn't seem like a unique problem faced by 50+ with these dungeons, and since we already can easily overlevel on new characters via dungeons and quests, I see no reason the level 50 story missions shouldn't give XP as well.

just seems like a total waste of 17 dungeons worth of content.

I mean...even aurum vale gives respectable EXP.

The XP from the 50 dungeons could be set to scale from Aurum Vale up to Dusk Vigil. I'm not sure how they even come up with the XP per mob, but to me it'd be quite simple. Come up with an XP per run rate, divide 40% among the bosses so that the first two give 10% while the last gives 20%, then the other 60 is divided between each of the mobs in the dungeon. If the mobs are optional such as the eggs in Aurum Vale then it can break this limit with them hatching, but those are few and far between enemies. Doing this however would make it easy to scale them between AV & DV, whilst also creating a fairly simplistic streamlining process in which to add XP to the old dungeons. Even if they only ever used such a formula for that purpose, it'd be simple and effective.

Sounds like it's just a developer oversight. They didn't have EXP because it's a level 50 dungeon/trial and until recently, anyone that could enter had no need of EXP. It will probably get changed later, but perhaps it still won't be as rewarding as you think.

They added EXP to the level 50 story quests at 3.0 but they give exactly a tenth of what a story mission would give at the start of HW (or a fifth of a HW 50 sidequest).
