Steps of Faith needs an ilevel raise...

I don't normally ask this, but because of the nature of the zone it should not be ilevel 90. Unlike most zones before it and WoD you seriously need that DPS and ilevel 90s pretty much just drag everyone else down. They simply don't have the DPS for the final boss and the adds, or the raw health to survive the AoEs. That is why so many people leave.

I'm not asking for the zone to be nerfed in any way though.

My recommended ilevel for the zone is 105-110. Which shouldn't be too hard for anyone whose made it that far. I have 2 toons who are both ilevel 115 and i've only been playing for 2 months.

No, so many people leave because people are stupid and don't want to think.

Steps of Faith isn't innately hard. The people on the other hand.

I do somewhat agree with this... but somewhat not... If the i90 person knows what they're doing they should be able to do it no problem. :P Problem is most don't know how to push their abilities and job to its fullest, so higher ilevel covers up for bad players.

I did it on one of my alts, whom was about ilv90

My aggro on vishap was higher than the DPS who were all decked out in their full 120-130 gear.

Its not a dps issue, if you hit the dragon with the weapons available then i90 is more then enough to kill it in time.

Heck its not even a hard fight but since it takes more then 5 minutes to complete and offers no reward players will run away from it as if it was a plague.

The ilvl 90 person has a significant disadvantage in health which is the biggest issue. I see most people just getting one shotted when I survive with 20% health and get healed. Its not just DPS.

Yeah, Steps of Faith won't get 'easier' just because you've locked out more of the player base, it needs more coordination. Square tests these instances in-house, it's how they decide what the iL should be. I think they got it pretty spot on so far. You should just learn to TALK MORE. I was in a run with some real dunderheads but after a couple wipes we talked about who needs do what and we nailed it. This is an MMO, play like it.

See, that'd be 'true' in an instance where the lose condition is 'everyone dies'. This is not that sort of instance. When you die you respawn at the beginning. The lose condition is 'Vishap breaks the last wall'. You lose if people don't land the dragonator shots, the kegs go off too early and the adds aren't dealt with in a timely manner. As such, coordination trumps survivability.

Hint: Your not suppose to get hit by the AOEs. It's called dodging lmao. This is the same reason people can't get past t5, because no matter how high your gear is, twister still kills you. Thank goodness for it too!

Except now a lot of those people left and we are left with the bottom of the barrel. Healers with 4.5k health who just get one shotted by everything is silly, they are just holding back everyone else. Tanks who don't have the HP to survive, DPS who lack health and don't have a good ilevel weapon. Last time I did it 2 dps had an ilevel 70 weapon and crafted gear.

Ilevel 100 at least would help some of this, but it is NOT an ilevel 90 zone. Square isn't perfect at everything.

With low DPS the mobs do aoes that cannot be dodged. They are simply not killed fast enough.

You have to realize low dps means adds are still alive and stacking up. Those turtles big aoes are so large you can't dodge them.

This is speaking for a "PUG" not premades.

Since the adds are still alive, the low dps has to focus on those and by the time it gets to the end the mob has 30% health left with no cannons.

Its not hard, the issue is players are going in with no gear. This makes the fight ridiculously harder because people don't have the health to live through the aoes that because of LOW dps cannot kill fast enough.

Those turtles are supposed to be stunned to interrupt the AoEs. The cannons even have a stun attack in case there's no-one in the party who can do it.

Heck, the cannons are meant to take care of the adds by themselves, freeing up the dps for the boss.

The adds aren't meant to be attacked directly, you do know that right? The tank is supposed to consolidate them so that they are all hit with cannon fire. It's why the cannons fire goop and stun shot as well as normal fire. Vishap, himself, is immune to slow and stun. Coordination... why is this such a foreign concept to you?
