Soldiery value wiped.... -_-

Let's say we are in 2.35 and we work up with 10 ilvl 80 dungeons to get 400 soldiery, aiming for ilvl 100 gear.... then comes 2.4 and now we have to do another 10 dungeons to add Poetics starting from 0 while mythodology and soldiery is combined to one currency.

Not sure why not replace soldiery with poetics and keep mythodology.

Or they could, reward allied seals along with it. It would help me out grinding alex for novus.

So let me get this straight. They introduced new gear, and a new tome to buy it with, so instead of having done that you'd rather they left the tomes alone and instead bumped the gear down an 'availability grade'? Sure, I don't see that going wrong at all...

It's not like soldiery is difficult to get by any means. ._.

Truth be told, there are better ways they could've handled it than the hack-job they made of replacing myth with soldiery.

Soldiery tomes are incredibly slow to earn compared to earlier myth tomes, and they haven't really changed the price of items purchased with it as much as they did when they replaced Philosophy with Myth. In fact, I daresay that items are now technically MORE expensive as a result of the tomes' lessened availability.

Sure, we don't have a weekly cap but that's where the benefits end. Unless you endlessly grind the higher end dungeons, you're not getting anywhere fast with earning tomes. Not even with daily rewards. 10 measly tomes for a dungeon? 20 if I do a mid-range? I'd sooner waste that same amount of time doing something more productive.

They remove the currencies because it 'confuses' new players and 'helps' them get to the same level as everyone else, apparently ignorant of the fact it's only making the grind heavier and less satisfying in the long run. Then again, these are the same people who gave us the relentless zodiac grind so... take that as you will.

Yea I want to be given gear without having to play the game at all too!

Yanno, instead of having to log in and maybe do a few dungeons during the week and maybe a raid if I have the time, that I could just log in and have one free magitech armor and one dreadworm armor in my moogle mail. Then I can log in next week to get my next two pieces.

I of course can log into libra eorzea on my smartphone to examine the beauty of my new gear from time to time.

Why make us have to actually play the game to get the gear?!

This would make things easier as it's been hard to log into the game lately anyway with the servers being down.

It's just a name. It's basically the same thing that you're asking for already. Except instead of Solidery use Mythology and instead of Poetics use Soldiery. The gear still went down a tier. That's if I understand you right.

They did the exact same thing when they got rid of Philo tomes, and then they upped the rate you got both Myth and Soldier tomes in a later patch. New content is harder/more time consuming, until it's not new anymore and they nerf it.

I miss Philosophy Tomes...

They remove currencies because they want people to focus on i120/i130, using i100/i110 as a mean to do it, it's just a way to invalidate old gear. Replacing currencies was a good move and something I expect they keep doing past the expansion.

As for the prices, I don't know if you are being intentionally oblivious but every time a thread like this pops up you are told they always increase the lower currency yield in later updates, it happened in previous patches, ignoring this fact won't make it go away.

Maybe they should add patience to the soldiery shop so you guys can buy some.
