How to craft HQ philo mats

I have 360/349 and 345 CP, I can eat CP food to reach 388 CP.

I did that and used some non-Hasty Touch rotation that claimed it was doable from NQ to HQ 2-star 40 durability.

The rotation arrived at 2700 quality out of the needed 2900, and 107 progress out of the 116 difficulty. Result: fail.

Anyone has a viable Hasty Touch rotation? It seems that all Hasty Touch info/threads is buried from way back in October, when we found the holy grail of 100% HQ.

Well, Basic Touch can't 100% HQ my Hard Hippo Leather, so obviously it sucks. I need Hasty Touch. Help me please.

May not be the optimal way to do it, but here's what I do with >80% success rate: Inner Quiet --> Steady Hands II --> Hasty Touch until 20/40 --> Manipulation --> Repeat cycle once more --> Steady Hands II --> Ingenuity --> Great Strides --> Byregot's Blessing --> Careful Synthesis II x2

It doesn't strictly follow that though, as it's more of a priority system than an actual rotation. Tricks of the Trade whenever possible, if you get a lot of good conditions and are sitting at near full CP, use Basic Touch instead of Hasty Touch for less RNG; you should have around 120~140 CP after the second Manipulation so you can Hasty Touch --> Setup Great Strides/Byregot's Blessing combo, use one Careful Synthesis in-between to increase chances of comboing on a good condition; if you lack CP, then you can substitute Innovation instead, etc.

Also, how to do the new stuff you need to make 50 HQ of just to get your new tools?

It has 80 durability, but requires the rather astronomical 419 progress and 5250 quality. Not doable without Hasty either I bet. I'm guessing it includes Master's Mend 2 instead of Manipulation?

I can confirm that it is possible to 100% HQ these if you have all HQ mats. They will bring the quality up half way (2625ish) and the rest is just finding your rotation :)

I don't use any of the Master Mends or Manipulation but I do use some Hasty Hand. I'm fully melded which I believe gives me 355 Craft and 363 Control. Then used Mahi Mahi NQ for food.

I want to explore using this:

Chilled Popoto Soup
CP 4% Max 14
Craftsmanship 10% Max 38

The pain is HQing your mats that you will need for the above synth. These are usually the 1 star 40 durability mats like twinthread and rose gold nuggets.

I'm still tweaking it and haven't put it into a macro yet until finalized, but I did make 10/10 all HQ.

For weaver if u use 2 hq twinthread it is doable but hqing twinthread is not easy in the first place

It is never 100% with rng but u can change the odd in your flavor by: Comfort zone. waste not, and reclaim

I also use this, but 1-st step I use comfort zone. Don't see a reason not to use it at the beginning.

The rotation I used was no doubt intended to HQ 1-star mats. Speaking of which I found a rotation that should work for 1-star mats.

Comfort Zone -> Inner Quiet -> Steady 2 -> Waste Not 2 -> Hasty Touch x4 -> Steady 2 -> Hasty Touch x3 -> Manipulation -> Steady 2 ** -> Ingenuity 2 -> Great Strides -> Innovation -> Byregot -> Careful 2

** is the Reclaim point of turning back, if you lack the 106 CP (32+32+18+24) needed to complete the synth at this point.


The rotation I used that failed for 2-star, but should do fine on 1-star, and have no RNG (need 365 CP):

I asked about on reddit and found what looks to be a solid rotation for 2-star (the issue is mainly durability as you need 1 more synth than 1-star). Note that it assumes you have 347/340 with 385 CP.

Comfort Zone -> Inner Quiet -> Steady 2 -> Waste Not 2 -> Hasty Touch x4 -> Steady 2 -> Hasty Touch x3 -> Manipulation -> Steady 2 -> Basic Touch -> Great Strides -> Ingenuity -> condition if normal or excellent

if normal then go with Innovation -> Byregot -> Careful 2 -> Careful 2
if excellent skip Innovation, do the rest

Of course, using HQ 1-star mats for this is probably better for safety. Given the 100k cost per 'try' of the philo mat HQ synth (at least on my server, philo mats are 10k each now).
