One Ilm Punch, any useful use of that skill?

Hi all,

So I have a MNK alt at 50 and have DPS all content.
I have this one skill on my hotbar that I've never ever used and that's bugging me, One Ilm Punch...
I know what it does, I know the buff removal effect but I haven't found any situation where it's actually effective.

Any experienced MNK could enlight me on situation in the current PvE content where it's actually useful? I hear it was a big help on the Lightning event fates but that's about it...

Take off opponents blood for blood

I use 1IP in HmHm to take off helicarnsssus's SS after the warden. I also have a theory for turn 4 that I want to test (just hit i78 so I have not been able to run it) in terms of the specialized SS in there, if anyone can confirm that for me I'd be grateful. But other than that I use it very rarely. It stays though just in case.

I removed this skill a long time ago now. I'm not sure what you're referring to in Turn 4, but the only buff I can think of that would certainly be worthwhile to remove would be the +XX% damage from absorbing spiders that the [big guys] get. It doesn't remove that. If by specialized SS you meant on the clockwork knights/ soldiers, I don't think that is a buff so much as their behavior. I don't recall ever seeing an icon to denote a SS-like buff when fighting them. In any case it wears off in less than 1 rotation so it would barley be worth it anyway.

Look closer next time. They definitely have buffs. Can't be removed by One-Ilm all the same.

This probably doesn't count, but when I do the beastmen dailies on my MNK I use it to remove buffs. I don't generally play MNK in groups, though.

I stand corrected then. In any case, yeah, it seems SE decided to give MNKs a fairly unique dispel move (does any other class have dispel at all..?) and then make any even remotely difficult enemies completely immune to it.

hmm, can't judge if it's useful or the exact opposite because blood for blood is a tricky buff/debuff.

ah ok, thanks for the clarification guys. im about to go into t4 so its good to know not to waste my time on 1ip. also, glory slash on PLD's have dispel.

I was looking at this the other day and from all the stuff in the game so far, I could only think of it removing a FATE boss's Stoneskin if the silence or stun fails.

I think from what I'm reading here, it'll probably go on an obscure hotbar after I get it.
