Tanks Who Constantly Queue and Then Withdraw Trying to Get in Progress Instances

They really need to start banning them. I main a PLD and it sickens me when this crap happens if I'm on another job. It's incredibly rude and needs to be punished.

My suggestion is this: Allow two withdraws from queue. On the third strike, the person withdrawing takes a 30 minute penalty. It then also flags the system that said person has received the withdrawing penalty. Once that person receives 3 flags, they are then banned for a shortish period of time (say 3 days). Then it will progressively get longer.

Keep in mind, I'm talking about withdrawing from the queue, not once you've entered a dungeon (which there's already a penalty for). If you've ever had it happen where your queue pops over and over for short periods, it's a Tank constantly queuing and withdrawing trying to get an in-progress dungeon so they can more quickly get their Myth tokens.

there is queue already in progress for a reason.... Why ban someone for using the feature?? Say i only have 30min before i have to get off. Typically i can find an already in progress 2/4 with in 5min of queueing which typically takes about 15min to finish from that point. Woot just saved me some time got to fight the bosses that drop the pieces i need and i helped another group out by filling a role they where missing!!! really ban or punish someone for using a filter and helping other parties out?

That's a pretty lame flaw of the system. "Join in progress" should never interfere with the queues of players who's not even in a dungeon.

If that's all you had to do it wouldn't be a problem. The problem is they queue, there's no in progress at that time, so the pop they get? They withdraw, pushing those other 3-7 people back into queue. Then they do it again, and again, and again. Is it ban worthy, not in my opinion. However, something does need to be done. Either make it so in progress ONLY looks for in progress runs, while having an option that allows people to still queue for both. Or just not tell you when it pops if it's in progress or not.

This would be impossible to implement and is a silly suggestion.

I have a better idea: How about they make "Join in Progress" actually work as intended? Make it so it is ONLY set to search for dungeons that are in need of another player. If Tanks need to wait 30 minutes for another Tank to drop in a in progress dungeon so they can join, so be it.

Once you select that button, you should only be searching for an In Progress dungeon, not one that's beginning.

drives me crazy trying to get into the DF as a DPS class. not only are the times extreme at times, but when you try to do other things (crafting/gathering) in the meantime and the window pops every three seconds over and over again, it does nothing but make me hostage to waiting with little else to do. i think there should be a penalty to continuously withdrawing. i like the 3 strikes you get the 30 minute penalty idea. between this issue and tanks asking to get vote-kicked to re-que... uugh!

Best solution is to make the queues separate.

Agree with OP's sentiment, but not his suggestion.

Make the in progress queue separate from the normal queue. If you have no intention of joining a run from the start, click the 'in progress' option.

Players who keep withdrawing need to realise they are negatively affecting the play of others. Those others cannot switch to another class to do things like gather in the meantime because their DF pops every 30 seconds or so, but they won't actually get in for another 15-30 minutes.
