Because then people would group as a set of 4 and compeltely defeat the purpose of what it was intended for.
I'd be perfectly happy with the ability to go in with a 2 person group. It simply gets annoying to get online with friends and be all 'Oh, before we go run dungeons, I have to go run a dungeon alone...'
I get that SE's trying to fill out the DF queue's, but so long as full 4 person groups can't queue up for Roulette, it would still help.
It's not for discouraging friends from grouping. Which is why you get the major bonuses only once a day.
It's designed to help those who get stuck in queue for hours because once someone passes certain content, they have no need or want to play it again. It's to help those who don't have friends to play with yet and want to progress in the game as well. The reward is an incentive to help others.
I am kind of moving to the point where i Think a sliding reward scale might be best. Highest rewards for solo, medium for 2, No rewards for 3/4 but you can que for "randomness"
If it's to help other stuck in the queues.
Can't que up with 4 people or more.
I personally hate that my hubby and I have to do an extra 40 x myth a day because we don't get to do roulette together, or we are forced to do content without each other, Great way to bring the community together.
Think of it this way: if people are ditching their partners to queue solo, then the system is working perfectly: bringing in more players to fill up queues for "unwanted" content.
Having everyone queue solo would result in the most efficient matching because there won't be a pair of Tank+DD while another Heal+DD+DD party is waiting for a lone tank.
