Very disappointed with the hairstyles they chose and it's nice to see many people not happy with their decision. At the very least I thought they would unlock Hrothgar-only hairstyles for the the faces to use since they're already made for Hrothgar heads. It's nice Yoshida acknowledged it I guess, but I'm still annoyed that they laughed when they presented the new hairstyles.

They knew it looked terrible, but they still went with it and this is from the same person that decided to delay EW release for additional QA testing, so he must have seen it and approved it.

I think the team thought there won't be as big of a backlash since Hrothgar's population is so small. After all, for years Hrothgar had to use Fantasia just to switch hairstyles and they got away with it. There's just a lot of minor things that just adds up: Reaper removing racial features during their shroud phase, Omega-M looking terrible on most males, Hrothgar hairstyles and more.

I have missed your previous statement in the length of this thread, then, but in any case I don't see why they can't have just made the same omission of detail from the Japanese information. I don't think it would have ever made sense for them to redesign the system and still keep the Fantasia requirement, which was a side effect of attaching the hair to another category (faces) that is Fantasia-only for all races equally.

it's just a matter of respecting the differences in our cultures. Some people took offense to the influx of non-Japanese speaking people posting in their forums with poorly translated messages. Of course nothing is practically stopping us from posting there, but out of respect for our jp family I think it's best if we do so very consciously and with consideration

My theory is it was a decision to cut time on Production...a....shortcut that they WOULD address in the future, but they did this nonsense to get it finished.
If I remember correctly, they said Hrothgar AND Viera were JUST finished in time for ShB. So I think the rush-job theory holds up. Cant say why it took as long as it did to get addressed..

It makes sense Snow's hair shows no ears. They're covered by a beanie after all. 2B's hair is gonna be used purely for memes, so no harm done.
The rest however just utterly suck. All I want is Windcaller and have my ears poke out at the side. It's literally the only other hairstyle I want!
