Had a wonderful one last night. I was tired, little sick, not feeling 100% myself. We're on the last boss of WP and just as the rancor starts ramping up near the end......
My screen goes black, then my desktop appears. Just as I'm reaching to click on the FFXIV the culprit pops up.....ITunes, which has been set numerous times to NOT AUTO UPDATE, decided now was the time to seize control of my system and remind me that updates were available.
I click the icon to bring back FFXIV, the screen loads back in and I spam benediction knowing that the tank was still my target.
The tank dies literally in the time between my hitting the key and the heal going off and the benediction cures me instead. The wipe came quickly after and there was only one thing I could say.

"Sorry guys, I got Ituned."

Was doing Titan for fun the other night since it is easy mode now. Suddenly tank drops instantly to zero complete dead. Leaving me wondering what just happened. Party chat erupts with laughter as everyone realizes our tank just walked off the edge.

Was in T4 coil last week and we weren't doing so great. A lot of reasons but one try we were cruising right along. Doing really well, one of our BLM's took some spike dmg so I switch off my tank, heal up the blm, switch back and my tank's hp starts dropping. Cure, Cure, CureII....he's not topping off i'm thinking F-ME he's getting hit hard and quick. CureII, CUREII...DANG IT!!!! Look up and i'm still targeting the Blm. /sigh /facepalm tank goes down.

Almossssttt had a benediction on him when I realized but wasn't quite fast enough. Oops.

That not an horror story that's a FUN TIME!

My husband and I were in tam tam last night, me on tank and him on blm, and we had this weird ass whm. My husband and I both play healers. (I have sch and whm leveled and he has whm up to 50 as well with his drg so we've done this rodeo a few times in 1.0 and in 2.0). We agreed that if the whm looked like they were struggling, since we planned on pulling really fast, he would help (since he was leveling blm for swiftcast and I just have tank for sh*ts and giggles).

No biggie, right?

My health dips to 90 out of 700 hp on the first pull. I look at the party besides the list and the whm is staring at my husband, who is forced to heal me since she isn’t doing it.

WHM: "blm your job is to dps, stick to it."

Meanwhile I die.

So Don apologize and I am like, f**k this whm.

Rebuffs, pull mobs, HP dropping, no cures, Don tries to keep me alive - I die again.

WHM: "fine, if you want to heal moron, i will dps."

I lost my shit.

I said things I am not proud of, mostly called her a few names after she eloquently called me retarded and then decided to say more choice names to my husband because god forbid he tops me off while I tank nine or ten things and she doesn't cure.

I end up leaving, so angry at this idiot. This is level 15 lady, you got a lot to learn if you get insulted over this.

I guess she didn't think she could dps while healing, since her excuse to be a major a**hole was that my hubby was stealing her little work??? Wow never in my life had I even seen such vile behaviour.

At last boss of Stone Vigil, a bard died to dragon breath.
I Swiftcast Raise him... to my horror right into red circle AOE... while I waltz out >_<
(I thought I could see the bard quiver as he was stuck to the spot)
Did this twice in the same run.
Bard stayed on the ground til we were done the second time xD
... Awkward silence after the victory theme.

In Aurum Vale, I met this self-proclaimed pro DRG. He was so good that he ran his own direction. He'd plop his ass anywhere he liked, not dodging attacks and then telling me how to do my job better. And he particularly loved being in the face of his enemy. Cuz it was more manly, I guess.

At first boss, I quickly (painfully) figured out exactly what he specialized in as a professional. But it's okay. Cuz he offered me advice on where to stand, what fruit to get and of course how to do my job after a couple wipes. His reasoning? He tends to die halfway to a fruit (pretty hard to, with three stacks right?)

So after all that careful planning/rehearsal, he proceeds to eat tank's fruit, tank eats my fruit, the blm takes the back middle fruit and I die trying to reach the other one on the far end.



He's a real professional, I'll give him that. Special thanks to the newbie BLM who played his role so well.

I had a Stone Vigil run where a MNK got raised in AoE four times on the last boss. FOUR TIMES. I felt so bad for her.

So I'm pretty well geared on my PLD, but I prefer normal WP pulls at a brisk pace over speed runs. I'm tanking WP with some FC friends, including a Holy-happy WHM I love very much. At one point he disconnects, we wait a couple minutes, he comes back. I resume pulling.

The sound of Holy casts is ringing in my ears. My health is dropping. 2500... 1400... under 900 now. I could've popped Hallowed Ground, but I wanted to see how long it took him to come out of Cleric Stance.

He didn't come out of Cleric Stance. T_T

Funniest part is, he didn't even notice I had died 'til I was running back.

In the garlean compound, i don't remember the name of the dungeon, the off tank wasn't doing anything and I was smashed by the boss adds :(

Was doing Titan runs for guildies and friends last Saturday and my co-healer, a Scholar, forgot to Heel Eos/dismiss her after our successful kill. We zone in with the next group to see Titan staring at us, yelling about his children and LANDSLIDING US AS WE WERE FROZEN IN PLACE IN THE LITTLE CIRCLE.

Except to my horror, I knew the bard would accept raise immediately and quite literally sent the bard to his death by having him spawn in an incoming AOE xDD

I ran Haukke Manor a couple days ago, leveling my white mage. War, Brd, Mnk in party. Starts with the silent tank who refused to dodge any red zones. Figured, whatever, I can keep him alive. Then the brd starts pulling mobs, clearly on purpose. I still keep them alive. Then the boss fight. Brd immediately uses LB and pops MB. I'm confused, figure it's a mistake and we win and move on. Next boss fight, same thing. His response: "It's the boss, i have too". He's being belligerent. I start letting him die when he pretends to be tank. Miraculously, we make it to the final boss. He uses our LB again, but doesn't pop MB. I think he thinks he's punishing me. Only the mnk helps me turn off the lights. Only the mnk tries to pick up adds. We wipe. I eventually quit the dungeon. There just wasn't any chance.

This was especially horrifying for me cause I main a bard. I never understood why they had such a bad name. But then I meet players like that, who seem to purposely give bards a bad name, and I start to understand.. and feel a little sad.

Lol. that's what made this guy so frustrating. He was using a HEALING Limit Break, at the beginning of the boss fight. And immediately starting up Mage Ballad when I still had full MP, gimping his DPS and using up all his MP so it wasn't there in the event I DID need it. Guess the story does sound kinda unbelievable, but it really is true. I think this guy was trolling/effing with us. I truly hope no one could be that dense.

Also, I guess I implied we never wiped till the end. That's not true. We wiped lots of times. If it weren't for the Monk doing his job well, we never would have made it to the final boss.

This is the most amazing BRD I've seen.

Everyone should start recording these moments and put unfitting music on it.

Speed runs in WP make people stupid. They think they have to pick up a certain amount of groups. My philosophy is, if you are the tank and running to pick up groups, do so until you start taking damage, then STOP. Once you start taking damage, if you keep running, I cant heal you with Cure 1 or 2 as you will get out of range before it goes off, AND I can't cast regen, or will get mega aggro from the groups you are running to. I have found even Swiftcast + Cure 1 or 2 or stoneskin usually ends up with me with aggro. Remember, it isn't a speed run if we wipe cause you took too much damage before you stopped so I could heal you.

This is why I don't do speed runs. xD My groups still generally finish in under 25 minutes. Sometimes faster!

Ran WP the other day and the tank wanted to do a speed run. I'd done a few before, and I'm getting better at DPSing and using Holy in WP to make the run go faster. I figured, this is cool, we got this. Literally my first Holy, the tank lost agro of the entire group. I kept up the Holy casting because they were stunned, I wasn't taking damage, and even with diminishing returns they were dropping fast enough that it was fine. But then the tank got angry and asked me to stop. So I did. I kept him alive, and switched into CS when I could to DoT the groups. Still pulled agro. He got angry at me again and told me firmly to stop DPSing. So I did. I waited til he got agro of the next group after that, then started healing as I normally would. Literally my first Cure and I pulled agro again. Sadface.

Nothing bad happened, it was just annoying because the tank was getting frustrated and literally nothing I did seemed to help. For reference, I wasn't the only one getting agro, the DPS were too. He was getting annoyed at them as well.

I rarely take aggro, but I also run with these tanks all the time and we have it down. As for gear, the WAR are DL/Relic, PLD is in some i90 (Coil-ready) and I'm in i70/Relic. The DPS are often better geared than me.

As I was leveling up BLM I never really had to many gripes with healers aside from a few bad ones during Titan story mode and HM, but it was mostly just bad tanks. After I got my relic +1 I decided to level up Arcanist for SCH. So I was running dungeons as a SCH leveling up and learning the job thinking this is a breeze then I get to AV. I had problems my first time running this as a BLM pulling extra monsters and blaming it on the other BLM there, but I thought this was goin to be cake.... Get to the first boss, Eos gets wiped out, tank is taking really heavy damage... dps is poisoned and losing health constantly, I get whipped by the boss and die. I say I'm sorry and we try 2 more times and just couldn't keep everyone healed enough. On the 3rd time I get whipped and die again..... Had to leave without a single word out of sheer embarrassment.

I found that hilarious one time I saw it, I was OT on Garuda so I could watch, as it seemed healing was a little off, they were using Cure II when the tank was only missing 100-500 health... like wtf.... also a WHM who insisted on having medica II hots on everyone at all times.

Mh well talking about WP speedruns...my first DFing it was a speedrun, to my surprise cause I don't think they should be done in DF since not everybody likes them (got usedto it after) and I think the 3 were together. Anyway, since I had no idea on how you speedrun it I tried to keep up as I could, and I did some holy spam to help dps which evidently was a mistake because everybody - no not just the tank, aggro all over the table - was taking too much damage, and I was being bad too at Holy because I was taking loads of damage myself, so I stopped. In all this I got a snarky remark from summoner who asked me if I was able to heal while staying out of melee range. Ok lesson learned, just heal spam like crazy (yes, the damage kept being all over the table for the rest of the run). The cherry in this story is, in the end the summoner himself started fighting inside the melee and aoes.
Good thing I wanted tomes too much at that moment so I just stayed silent the whole run while being a grumpy old lady behind.

I helped a linkshell member with Baby Garuda... I noticed the party was 3 DDs and a tank. So I asked who is whm?

... I was. So I switched to Whm... and we wiped a lot. I haven't touch whm since 1.0. So I spamming cure IIIs, cause I have no idea what the hell I am doing.

Find out cure Is give free cure. But I can't maintain my MP and we wiped atleast like 10 times and finally won.

I hated myself so much.

Duty finder WP speed runs are nuts, tank doesn't say a word just runs off with all the mobs and your trying your hardest to keep them alive. There are plenty of shouts for speed runs join one of those, as a whm I find it hard to keep up with some of these tanks with my current gear. There just isn't enough mp in my bar for their suicidal rushes, you would think they could see that bar is empty I'm not a thm/blm that can pull massive MP outta my butt! It is like trying to fill holes in a dam with toothpicks, if there was a bleeding animation the tank would look like a fountain.

Don't feel bad...I think this is almost every sch experience with AV.

That happened to me once. I figured I'd just deal with it. Then we got to the pull after the second boss. The tank went ahead and pulled literally everything and then ran around the wall and LOS-ed me. I spammed all my lustrates and threw e4e on the tank but the tank went down so fast. By this point I was really annoyed because I hadn't signed up for a speed run when I DFed it so I just quit the run.

I laughed at this. I have that experience ALL the time haha.

I'm still a little nooblet, but thusfar it's been the end boss of TMT. Seems like DPS/Tank thinks I can tank the adds and heal everyone at the same time without going splat. 1 add maybe, 2 adds no.

mostly ilvl90 warri who didn't care about stacks at all and really tried to explain me that keeping aggro by spamming 8 overpowers is all a warri is supposed to do, no matter how many mobs he pulls. well long story short: told him that he only receives heal if he got his 5 stacks up and we raged at each other until he left. lucky us,it didn't even take 2 minutes till we got a trash geared (ilvl 55) warri who actually knew how to play his class and was easier to heal then the ilvl90 trash tank. guess it really is one horrible design choice to give ppl high level gear even though they have no clue how to play their classes :-/

Last Friday, I decided to give DF a whirl for a WP run. I read the previous stories about the DF horrors and wondered if it really is THAT bad. Anyway, I hit the "Commence"button, the party loads; it's me (SCH), a PLD in full AF, and 2 MNKs in full AF. They all admit this is their first run, and I'm cool with it. I've healed the dungeon about 3 or 4 times with better-geared players, so I somewhat know what to expect. Then, as I'm casting party buffs, THIS happened..

Tank: Well, I just watched a video on how to do a Speed Run. Looks pretty easy.

In my head, I'm going, "Oh shit... here we go..." as I watch the 3 of them charge off into the sunset.

Oh also a new one. The other did WP with premade, comes out one of the dps is a new 50 and has only run it once. Ok no problem, we explain everything. We get at King. He asks if the other dps is gonna do the adds, since in the other experience he wasn't the one doing them. The other dps answers that no, that HE should be the one doing them and explains all the reasons in detail. We start the fight, nobody is killing adds, so we keep writing hi to kill adds but absolutely nothing, and he finally wakes up is too late and we wipe. At our complaints he says he was thought it wasn't his task, and then turns out he didn't read all the explaination and all because the LS chat was scrolling too fast so he couldn't pay attention to party chat....:/

When I tank for WP, I would always ask when type of the run the healer wanna do.

RR - Regular Run----one group of mobs each pull
SSR -Semi Speed Run ----2 groups mobs each pull
SR - Speed run -----2 pulls before 1st boss, 2 pulls before 2nd boss, 1 pull before 3rd boss

Boy do I have one. Alright, so last night I jump into an Ifrit Hard Mode run, because why not? The party lacked a BLM or SMN, so the DPS had to be on top of the nails when that phase came. Said Phase came and well...everyone but me and one of the tanks died. Now you may be thinking: Man this sounds horrible...and it was at first, but instead of just resigning myself to dying and starting over, Me and Eos kept the tank alive long enough for me to get the other healer up (I ran away from Ifrit a bit so he wouldn't hit me with the push back move). Slowly the other healer and I got everyone else up with the bard pulling off a LB3 to get our remaining members up. It was a hell of a run and I felt like a hero afterwards.

I joined a group that wanted to run 3 healers for titan (all for healing).
I just left. I've done triple healer once before and honestly it drags titan on forever. I wouldn't put my self through that again.

I wish more tanks were like you. ;~; I've met too many tanks who assume that I'm ok with a speed run because I have a few i90 pieces and +1 relic. My gear does not indicate my willingness to speed run anything.

Just yesterday, I dropped the gamepad twice during a Titan run and when I did get ahold of it, did a cross hotbar roulette, then proceeded to Swiftcast and Benediction myself instead of the tank.

It was bad.

Way back in my first WP run as healer I went through the duty finder and I had full AF and market board equips. Tank in mostly darklight (probably had relic and maybe an AF2 piece) says "speedrun" and runs off before I get protect off. I had never cured so much in my entire FFXIV experience before that point.

Luckily though, after the second boss the tank was cool enough to slow down and complimented me about how well I was healing with my poor equipment up to that point compared to other better geared players (only one wipe). Bard saved us with mage ballad since I had to spam cure 2 the entire time.
