If by care you mean "want to play it so badly", yes. JP however, if you even look at the lodestone front page, are the more active XIV patrons..the grand majority of blogs you see are Japanese lol.

The testing phase will end very quickly. This has been confirmed. Alpha will be over before the end of the year. I'm sure people will get over it.
But instead of making fun, maybe the JP should feel moved. After all, we're all in it for the same goal. People making fun of those disappointed have no reason to feel superior any more than people who are raging over not getting in have reason to be angry.
They can have a laugh all they like they weren't the ones that had to put up with garbage lag ridden servers. Let's just hope the right people are getting in and that the tests go well because I really don't want server repeats like 1.0. I know there have been alot of people who are getting in who are interested in "Trying" the game but I hope they actually stick with it and test it well.
Here is hoping for the next batch of invites! :)
You are totally right, it's random! That RNG thing pissses me off most, b/c after trying for 2 years every day I couldnt still get lvl1 Onion Doublet! lol Just because of that dumb RNG thing. Everyone I know got it on 2nd or 3rd try...but I got right to be pissed off on RNG thingy after that you know?
I think the difference here is, raging you didn't get in or being overly excited for stress testing is something you can really poke fun at because that pretty much guarantees most sent an app just to play the game. It's not "superior", it's making fun of how strong the reactions of love/hate has been over simple testing.
How often did you get to the point of pissing your pants in excitement for tests in school compared to going on a field trip?
Translated always by the great Reinhart:
As for the JP rep posts, right now they are just replying to those JP players asking to open up more positions for alpha test and that they can't wait, Foxclon telling them they are planning to open up more slots so hang in there.
Let's cross the fingers :P (i hope that Foxclon is speaking about opening more slots world wide and not only to the complanining JPs)
LOL! I don't know what makes you think it's random... but it seems pretty obvious that it wasn't.
Heck, SE could have made it alot easier by saying that it'll be based on RNG, but they knew it would be too obvious after the invites went out that it wasn't a 'random' thing. I have not heard of a single Legacy player getting an invite, and if ther are some, I'm assuming it's based on working the past Alpha for the 1.0 client. I've been doing mah research, this wasn't random!! Although yes, some people should prolly calm it down abit.
They're NOT ALLOWED to tell you they've gotten into the alpha @_@.
Quick edit, copypasta-ing from another post in another thread(far far away...) I made earlier today on the same subject:

Here's the /entire/ NDA:

Of course, your feelings of superiority allow to make such presumptions on people's motivations. Even you should understand that game testing is actually qualifiable as fun as you are actually testing a game.
And in this case, it's testing a game that they obviously really like.
You have no reason to poke fun at anyone, Elexia.
EDIT: That said, any requests to reveal who was picked and how they were picked needs to stop.
You not getting in because you've been playing while others who quit is probably intentional. They need people who thought the game was bad the first time around to make sure they like it this time around.
SE isn't looking for Yes men.
I wonder if the SE offices had a pool going to bet on exactly how many rage threads would be created this morning...

Seems to pretty much sum up the threads lately.
We already established this Nix. That was me you were having that convo with LOL. They can say whether or not they got an invitation, just not if they accepted the invitation..
Aside from that I was asking if anyone HEARD of any Legacy players getting in... we all have heard of plenty of not-so-actives getting in (and I said I personally know of 2 not-so-actives myself earlier). A Legacy player doesn't have to come to the forums to announce it (most people would call it phone-a-friend).. I just think we should have heard of more (or any) Legacy players getting invites if it was in fact "random". That is why I don't believe it was random, well that and SE said they didnt want to divulge their methodology (if it was completely random I think they would have just said that.. hard to realistically blame them for a RNG).
3 of my friends that gets in is legacy, 2 being active players and 1 haven't play for few months but still paying for the account.
Will this finally shut you off? unlike Dragonheart's friends that only posts at facebook claiming they got into alpha which even my mom could do, my friends actually showed me the picture of client downloading and alpha forum outlook.
It was not random. Not truly random.
Everyone answered some question, so if you are in target group your chance to get invite higher. It's obvious, isn't it?
I didn't get one, but there will be one or more waves. I can wait for week or two or three. Any way, one day everyone will play ARR.
I've got two points:
1. Who else to better test the game then those who didn't play or have patience to understand it (sarcasm - noob choices if they picked all the people who left early and hardly played).
2. Perhaps they dont want to disappoint us with server crash tests and want to invite us to the beta where we can actually test gameplay elements rather then "EVERYONE JUMP" *server crashes*.
Could you be any more petulant? You didn't get an invite, therefore the developers don't care? Yeah, it couldn't be that they may also want help from those who were turned off by 1.0 to get a wider perspective. Nope, it's all because they just don't care, darn it! ::Insert massive eye roll here::
You claim they went against their rules of selection when you don't know what they are, as they have not released their rules for selection and stated that they will not answer any questions pertaining to their rules of selection.
What criteria of selection that they established and stated will not divulge did they violate?
Will this finally shut me off? Child please.. I wasn't even talking to you. Moving on from your fail of a post..
AFTER DOING MY OWN RESEARCH, I've found out a friend of mine who has Legacy did get an invite (again, got a copy of the email). He wasn't active and just paying for the account while not playing, in order to Legacy. He also went into abit more detail of what the population looks like from the tester forums and he noticed quite a few people claiming they have Legacy. So as I said before I don't think Legacy has anything to do with it, seems like they were mostly focused on the not-so-active players.
So basically, you know a guy, who knows some guys, who saw what some guys posted about what some other guys posted about getting into alpha?
lol Look, you don't realy know the ratio of what kinds of people got into alpha. You couldn't possibly. So just chillax. You'll get to play soon enough.
I'm talking about the VERY FIRST requirement stated on the alpha test application site. It has been linked now too many times.
I'm simply pointing out that SE changed their minds by admitting non-active accounts. Heck, those people would have realized they weren't eligible just by reading the disclaimer, but applied regardless (well played gentleman).
inviting ppl who quit or have no genuine intrest in the game is lame doing this could have further delayed the game because most those ppl have short play time windows like otheer gamss or just dont care silly SE... :(
i would figure it was just random
legacy or not, but i guess the question is did they include people that have not played since before YP took charge
only one that can answer this question is well SE (most likely will not say) logic stand point why would they include people that really drop the game like a back of shit?
but what do i know i am just some random guy
GL to you who got in and those that didn't round 2 wil be soon
And people still wonder why the official forums are mocked? Good lord. It'd be amazing to see one day without a community meltdown. It's getting to the point where people are imagining conspiracies of why they were not picked up.
To the people that weren't picked up, fill your time with whatever you had planned to do until you were picked up, and to those who were picked up, please work your best to ensure 2.0 is a success.
Why don`t SE just invite everyone? xD And test the servers right away. xD
That would be interesting.
"Testing". This is about testing, not playing. Thanks for showing what your true intent is though. I'm not claiming to know the ratio, just posting my opinion based on the evidence I've seen (and this is "seen", not heard of thru a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend like you tried to imply..).
As a matter of FACT, that ratio you mentioned is exactly what alot of the testers are trying their best to figure out for themselves right now, but you wouldn't know that because you can't 'see' anything.. you just heard sumthing from some guy, who knows some guy, etc....
