The items have been out since January, I believe. They're even on their version of the Mogstation.

The Chinese Mogstation even has a package where you can buy the outfits with metallic green and purple dyes. >w>

Well, since I can't read Chinese (I can barely struggle through hiragana/katakana texts and recognize 10-20 kanji... the step from that to ALL THE KANJI (plus a few more) is... no.) I couldn't be certain if they were bundled together with dye because they were dyeable or if it was just one of those "well, if you pay this much, you get the dress and some of these cash shop one-time-use items as a random bonus" bundle offers that don't necessarily have anything to do with each other. ^^

Can we please get this outfit:)

Obviously the already have the assets so I see no reason why not to add this to the global version

Bring all the other regions outfit, its already made, so why not sell it to us?

Many times there are licencing issues involved. The artist/company who makes the model or textures has not allowed it for distribution outside certain regions.

It is possible that the company with distribution rights in the Chinese region has employed people to make the asset, and then sent that to SE-JP to be added into the game. As such SE-JP can't send it to the other regions.

Only a guess, though this is how it normally works with multi-country distribution of any creative material from films to music to computer games.

Who does not like money though, they could just offer them some of the profits for putting it on the mog station lol. They are not exactly getting anything by not selling it.

Wouldn't SE have some kind of an agreement to use it one its game though ? (as "owner" of the game)
In that case, why would it be region locked ?

The issue there stems back to how the Chinese and Korean games are distributed by other companies, not Sony. SE pretty much says "Here is our game, you may distribute it to your country," and then it is up to the distributor to work out these exclusive deals. So my guess is, SE would have to get the other distributors to agree to release the content. (Aka: pay them.)

All LadyVal was saying was that it's not so easy as to assume that "well, SE owns the game, they should already have released these items to all players". And that they'd likely need to negotiate some kind of deal with the Korean and Chinese companies in order to 'port' the clothing over to SE's version of the game. Of course, this kind of negotiation doesn't necessarily have to be difficult and/or expensive, but I think it's still a matter of, "You guys made this item for your players, now we need to make it available to players on our servers."
Most likely, they'll end up on mogstation if it happens, if only to give the FFXIV staff a quantifiable measurement of "this many players wanted it; does it make up for the effort/cost of negotiation? If yes, it shows we can do it again. If no, we can't justify to our bosses why we should do it again". Not that I like the thought of stuff ending up in the cash shop at all, but with these cross-game items I can at least understand it.

And yes, I do hope they'll look at making the Korean outfits (and minion) available to us.

With JP, no, we have all the same items they do, we just don't have to excess to all of them yet.
As for the Chinese and Korean games, if they don't have something in the game, it is probably because its against the law there. Trading is probably not gonna work.

Exactly, I wasn't saying it's impossible, I was just saying that it's not just like a flip of the switch they have to make, nor is it SE sitting back and going "LOL look at the silly westerners wanting this content!" either. lol. There's just a couple of hoops to consider, that's all.

As far as I know, we don't have anything exclusive to us other than some undead/skeleton enemy looks. China can't show undead so they have to consider that in their enemy models, but even Gold Saucer was changed from a casino to amusement park so that China could have it in their game without any fuss. Maybe Japan will offer up their maid and butler outfits? I personally would love to have all of the regional outfits, so, whatever they need to share from our version of the game to theirs I fully support.

personally i would like to see us get the Housemaid attire from the japanese 711 promo event. i've seen people wearing it in df and it makes me crazy jealous everytime i see it.

Gold Saucer was designed after the FF VII Gold Saucer, and even there it was already more an amusement park than a casino.

That's Korea's exclusive outfit. They got it before China got theirs iirc. Or do you mean, did China just get Korea's outfit too?

If licensing is the issue, toss them up on the Mogstation and split the proceeds. Problem solved.
