I play Hyur too. I also played Hume in FFXI. Haters are gonna hate. Yours looks great by the way.

All races are beautiful and unique in their own way. Lalas are cute and humans are the classic, you can’t really go wrong with them, they are very transformable if that makes sense.
I play Viera because I love their attachment to nature, they are gorgeous and have legs for days but I remember at the beginning they got a lot of hate, I don’t think there’s any race in ffxiv that doesn’t get hate, some more than others.
If people try hard they will always find something to complain about or hate.
I can understand light banter but not actual mean spirited comments.
Editing this bc I was basically just repeating myself over and over the past posts and it's honestly getting irritating xwx
TLDR: Yes, you're right, 100%, stop being malicious people, and don't let people feel alone when someone talks about their nasty experiences in-game \o/
imo Vieras need a lot more than what they're given in-game. The devs should focus a bit more on their new races and explore them in the First. Viera are quite mystical, it would be interesting to see how they operate within Hydealyn.
Agreed with this. I... do not like 14's incarnation of vieras. Fran was decent at least, but all of the ones that came after her are... ehh. The race feels Barbie Doll'd? I'm not sure how to describe it, but they almost feel like a different race from their FF12 selves. FF12 viera were amazing, and if Square actually made them more similar to that than "human with rabbit ears" I'd like the race a lot more.
Its kinda telling how we still havent explored The Source's Viera besides the mention of Golmore Jungle in the Ivalice raids. Raktika was neat, but would've loved to have that culture BE explored in the Source rather than having it feel so disconnected with us getting introduced to them in alternate Hydaelyn. Yet another reason why I dislike Shadowbringer's premise... (reeeally should've been that Garlemald expansion. Could've helped with better introducing Bozja as part of the msq too)
I *think* part of the reason nothing else was released with Ivalice is because the main writer for it left Square? Or something like that. It's also why we'll never get another Ivalice based game, which I'm incredibly upset about. It's really sad, it just cements that we'll probably never actually get to explore the Ivalice related areas in 14 nor hear anything else about that resistance group or whatever Fran was with. Just a completely dropped story thread, IIRC.
He'd left Square before, he was working as an outsider brought in. Some of the FF14 team worked on his past projects, and thus 14 has some inspiration from games like 12. Yoshida stated that Matsuno was his biggest reason for joining Square Enix to begin with, and that this was a thing he always wanted, to work alongside the guy. However, due to complications that we don't know about, Matsuno had to go and the story grew outside of what he had intended. It is indeed why we we'll never get another Ivalice game, though I can't exactly be sure whether Matsuno will return for a potential future Dalmasca content or if that whole plot got dropped.
Which frankly? It's absurd. They have other writers, surely one of them is capable of doing it justice. Plus, it's a country with volatility and continent-spanning repercussions. They can totally squeeze out an expansion's worth of content out of it if they put their minds to it.
