Not really strange. A large proportion of people in the world only think of themselves and what they get out of something. Other people rarely cross their minds.

You see this in every part of life, from choosing who they vote for, to cutting into lines, to tailgating and suffering road rage.

I made OverParse, a damage-log viewer for PSO2 JP. When it got blacklisted by GameGuard, a friend and I played cat and mouse for less than a week, then found a complete bypass that worked in under 10 lines of code. Years later, it still runs fine, and I have never heard of anyone being banned for using it without first making a fool of themselves posting damage logs on social media—much like FFXIV.

Client-side anticheat is rarely a serious impediment to cheaters; there are plenty of actual cheats for all versions of PSO2, the walk-through-walls infinite-PP kind, that still work just fine.

I just don't understand why these threads pop up every 3 days and reach 10 pages. There is an official statement from Yoshi-P about third-party tools. I timestamped the important part on why they don't scan your systems and only take action when users of these tools openly discriminate against other players.

And yet the ability to put ground marks during combat was remove since players were using addons to automatize said process giving an advantage and making the encounters easier. This is already precedent enough to understand that if devs consider X gamebreaking something will be done about it.

The most funny thing about this is that according to your own logic an addon like that should have been fine since anyone can do it manually if they wanted.

Complaining about people making mini cactpot more braindead so they can just click with their head turned off seems like a REALLY freakin' weird hill to die on.

Was that the reason for it? Damn. I hated that change because I used to place raid markers in dungeons as I pull mobs, to designate where I'm going to end the pull. It made dungeons go so smooth because everyone would know where to plop down their ground effects.

Not that it matters now though, since every dungeons get the same pulls anyways...

These piece of garbages perhaps are only capable catches harmless small fries, which would be a great achievement itself, while leaves the big harmful fish swimming around. To make it worse, they are potentially hamper your game performance.

NCSoft, the game's publisher, uses anti-cheats like GameGuard and Xigncode, which prevents nothing. QoL mod users still do their things like usual. Cheaters, while rare but exists, still do their things, like flying straight to the last boss of a raid, or bring one-hit boss skill to the overworld and kill countless players. There was time that unkillable Summoners appeared in pvp arena with zero-cooldown and infinite resources.


To make it worse, the anti-cheat is freaking dumb. Even today, playing Koldrak, a 12-man daily casual raid that only happens five times/day, is a freaking pain, cuz the anti-cheat kicked you the moment you lag and have multi-input (extremely common in this game), voiding you of the rewards. There is no log in and continue like FF14. Just pure reward loss.

They devs have said they do not want to implement system resource hogging/invasive stuff like that.

As for stuff mentioned in OP, it's pretty stupid when people can do things like that that make some encounters completely braindead when it does all the thinking for you.

It also does stuff like OGCD lag compensation to avoid ability clipping on higher ping (AHEM MCH/RPR), which the devs should really just look at making standard anyway.

its not workaround if you can tripple weave suddenly, which you can do if you enter certain values into alexander itself (which they dont recommend cause its suddenly CHEATING but what does prevent you from doing that). All thirt party performance enchansers should be banned in some way or made baseline simple as that. Same for combo addon, marker addon and all that stuff that ruins game integrity.
