(Suggestion) Add minimum ilevel for roulettes based on your level

Cannot agree, because when you hit a tier, you still are far away the tier IL cap, when you are a new player and not someone rolling its 12th job with all tomes capped.

Road to 70 is quite an example, you hit 60 much long before even unlock Idyllshire so you cannot access that gear even if you have the tomes.

I think one possible solution is looking at all the available job gear between armory, inventory, and why not, saddlebag, and use the resulting best IL for register the roulette queue, instead of looking at only what you have on.

And blocking retainer access when queue pops up.

My alt is still wearing ironworks gear at level 74. I think I might have just LoTA unlocked, and I level it through the roulette/MSQ (if I ever actually play it). :)

I am also still in ARR.

You wouldn't be arbitrarily locked out of content. That would imply there is no system to determine whether you can do a content, which there is. Level, item level, role, MSQ progression, prerequisite quest, and maximum daily/weekly cap requirements are all part of a system that does not arbitrarily lock you out of content.

I don't know, if you meet the requirements to enter all duties you've unlocked for a given roulette, but then can't queue for the roulette itself because you meet the requirements for a duty that you can't unlock and might not even know about, that would feel like an arbitrary restriction. Sure it's all defined by a set of rules, but it's potentially confusing and very likely frustrating. As much as the current alliance roulette situation bothers me I'd rather SE do nothing instead of changing things in such a way to create new problems.

The lock wouldn't be in the duty, but in the roulette, which would tell you in plain, red letters what requirements you are missing. Roulettes can have separate requirements than the duties that are contained in the roulette.

Uhm they dont need to out level even more? Or if they rly feel themselfs forced to use 1-200 ilvl higher gear then theyre needing they can as well buy it. And as pointed out, you cant unlock void ark before reaching iddleshire, nor rabanaste before rhalga's.

ITs the same as the mainstory roulet - if you dont like what you could get DONT QUE FOR IT.

Need to level? Of course not. Hit the next expansion's level cap before entering said expansion? Very easy doing just daily roulettes. Even easier if you're sick of levelling and want to do something else for a change.

Obviously and that's the point. The proposal is to force an ilvl minimum based on job level. It takes neither raid unlocks nor story progression into account.

Congratulations you've hit 60 before you've started 7th Astral! What? you want to run the alliance roulette now? Ohnonono! You now must be ilvl 235 (Dun Scaith's min) to queue for it!

I assure you that I fully agree that the ilvl dodge needs to be addressed. A mandate that forces people to the marketboard is just going to make it a seller's market (I'd actually stand to gain from this) and pull the people that cannot or will not overpay for white gear out of the queue. Heck even the vendor gear would break some folks' budgets.

I see two viable approaches. I'm discounting the inventory scan because if they can do that they can certainly implement repair all (leSigh).

- Level based enforced ilvl with accessible vendors
- Minimum ilvl based on the highest Alliance raid unlocked

Rabanastre was rough at launch as player ilevels skewed a bit more towards the min ilevel than the max ilevel of the patch due to StB having an additional tier of level 70 gear at release. It was quite easy to just barely make the min ilevel of i305 the Raid with a mix of Antiquated, Arhat, Ala Mhigan, Skallic and Genta gear. Later on when the majority of players were in i330 to i340 the Raid was pretty smooth.

In comparison, the equivalent mix of gear for Copied Factory (Weathered/Amorant, Ronkan, Warg and Edengate) would put the players in i440 which is above the minimum of i435 which likely contributes towards raid success.

I like doing CT. I don't "ilvi exploit" but knowing you people, if you see someone like me in the raid with i470 gear, you're gonna assume that person exploited.

You may not be using the ilevel exploit but you are still gaming the system for quick and easy XP/Tomestones. The only real way to stop you from gaming the Roulette would be to require WoD, DS and OM completion to unlock the Roulette.

I'm pretty sure OP meant for this to complement the system already in place, not replace it. So until you actually unlock Void Ark, required ilvl would still be 90. Not to mention that you'd be unable to run the roulette in classes other than your main below 70, if that was the case.

Tbh, on some days it still takes a lot of time, becase people die a lot even in ~450.
