Do coils if you haven't already. I solo-ed them unsync and was surprised at how different it was. But at the same time, I can see why they cut it. That maze going down was pain.
SE looks at what's demanded, Yoshi listens and decides the general direction, designers meet those demands. If something like the maze of turn 4(?) was released again, guaranteed you'd have a wave of people complaining how it takes too long, some hallways are pointless, ect. Yoshi has even spoke on the reason they cut multiple paths in dungeons was because people would go to the one that got to the end fastest. So now raids are trial sets. We may get another phantom train like instance but that's the extent, likely.
