And
You clearly don't know what cycles mean in game development terms then. This art work was done up before Heavenward came out, which was three years ago. That's an eternity in games management.

Not necessarily an eternity and as I just said, this stuff was polished enough TO be shown, that's my entire point. It's not exactly "concept art" 3D models don't matter at this point since it's not shown for various other reasons. They cited time as a factor for the release of a half race.

Not to mention saying 3 years is an eternity is silly since FFXV was saying they needed more time and ONLY had 3 years of dev, when they wanted more time, but due to various other factors such as not having the work done completely, changing of direction ideas, and then also translating (redoing the game for a new console) also took away that time.

I'm saying that people running behind either camp trying to use it as an excuse is just that, an excuse. We aren't all behind the closed doors of dev and can only go by what they say.

A tech demo is not a fully fleshed out anything. It's just there to do as the name says. If it ends up being used, great! But there's a lot of concept trailers that go literally nowhere. The point is to show off, not be a "Confirmed!" kind of thing. Remember that awesome game Agni's Philosophy? Of course you don't because it's just a tech demo.

Basically, the player races are essentially different "breeds" of the SAME RACE. Society may frown on it, and actual successful births may be rare, but the player races CAN interbreed. An Elvaan or a Lalafell are not going to successfully produce offspring with a Sahagin or Sylph, no matter how they try, but an Elvaan WITH a Lalafell is not out of the question. That's really all that's needed to differentiate Hrothgar from the Beastmen; they may have unusual faces, but they're still humans; still the same race as Garleans, Au Ra, Hyur, and so on - just a different breed.

That's what I mean by 'constructed'. There's a little ambiguity in how divergent 'beastmen' are from 'Spoken', but the beast moniker is something that's largely been socially imposed on these people. That's kind of why I think it would be a cool experience to roleplay that out in the player's head as they go through ARR on Hrothgar--they might IC find themselves in a disquieting grey area as they go around Eorzea with that arbitrary division being thrown around, about people who don't look that much more different from most other Spoken than Hrothgar do.

His list was a sarcastic attempted jab at people citing the FFXIV Lore available to explain why Male Veira wouldn't be a playable gender option.

Since "ACCORDING TO THE LORE" almost all of what was listed in OP is true.

EXACTLY my point. The argument is is about whether or not used art will never be re-used again because it's "Too old" the point is it doesn't matter. Either for or against it. So people are wrong in assuming it will happen because there is "concept art" and people are wrong against arguing if it's too old to be used.

It might be used. But it being used would be part of a new dev cycle where new concept art is drawn up and this concept art may or may not factor into the design. Watch the dev panel from tokyo fan fest where the specifically talk about the development of the crystarium. It didn't start out anything close to its final product, and the idea of using the tech demo came later.

Therefore, if they were going to do Male Viera, they would be drawing up new concept art, maybe one of which based on that original art work, and then choosing what works best. The problem the devs have right now though, and Yoshi P specifically mentioned this as one of the many reasons why Hrothgar was chosen over Male Viera, is that people have their own preconceived ideas of what a male Viera looks like, and its difficult for the dev team to meet that expectation (the amount of people I have seen going "Male Viera needs to be small" is huge, which completely goes against Yoshi Ps own vision for them, and he is well aware of that).

Sadly the same is with Hrothgar, since Ronso is their equivalent. There's really a no win there

Eh? No, there are already female Ronso designs to base the female Hrothgar on, if indeed what they wanted to do was have the Hrothgar be carbon copies of the Ronso like the Viera are of their XII counterparts.

If there was a singular reason they didn't go with female Hrothgar, it would be the overwhelming fan demand for Viera and the disappointment that would result if they weren't introduced. As this is being billed as the last time ever new PC races are introduced... as a guarantee, at any rate... they felt forced by that selfsame fan demand to implement Viera. From what I understand, left to their own devices the devs would have just added in the full Hrothgar.
