Scholars what are your thoughts?

Right now im almost to 70 as a sch and i have to say i hate my once beloved class. doing solo content is shit and takes so much longer to kill shit, like two dots an and broil don't cut it in terms of dpsing, we need another dot back or put shadowflare back to how it was with the same potency right now and i would fine with that in terms of dps. like right now a lot of people saying dont take cleric stance, your wrong as a sch TAKE this if your soloing makes things so much more bearable then it is. we have no damage so this 5% or whatever it is, is so useful.

Healing right now makes me want to cry, you lose so much more fucking mana now cause of how high adlo cost is, if your not paying attention at all your going to lose your mana really fast even in dungeons where your barely dpsing because eos can't help you heal anymore as efficiently as it did before. lucid dreaming is a welcomed boom to this nerf. they need to give us back the old aetherflow becuase damn is it hard to keep you mana stable, espeically in 8 man. I'm sorry to say this but never take 2 sch's to 8 mans unless you want like a super challenge and maybe wiping cause of heals that can't keep up.

This! i did my first dungeon as a SMN, since I was "dragged" into one as a SCH the first day. Well, it sucked, I run out of Aetherflow stacks too quickly, I basically Ruin spammed the entire dungeon, it was so boring. And I even said to the peopel I was with at least as a SCH my main function is to heal, DPS second. But as a SMN, like what the hell. I though they were supposed to fix the job issues not make them worse. Not to mention the dungeon was Sohm Al normal, my poor pet during the Tioman fight, I could do nothing. Thank god the healer was able to heal it. The SCH/SMN dynamic was a good one, and its clear that SE is and was able to adjust them individually for their primary purpose, but this this is just bad, worse than bad, horrible.

I feel bad, SE has been going half in on scholar and summoner skills for so long because they essentially revolve around pets. I was hoping dreadwyrm trance and Dissipation were supposed to be a taste of them finally getting rid of the pets but now we have skills that require our pets(and that soon we wouldnt have to deal with them) but instead they redirect to the pets and remove the kit to take care of them. I would sooner quit the pet and have them focus on balancing the job based on their finer characteristics. Pet's are nice but balance wise they have to be super careful as they change so much about the jobs

I was talking with a friend about how Stormblood has brought nothing but disappointment. Not only are a lot of the jobs considered horribly boring by their mains, there's also the MSQ fiasco with Rauhbann and Pippin EX (still haven't been able to get past that....).

The only positive thing has been the changes made to PvP, but the lack of ability to enter as a pre-formed party against other pre-formed parties make it very difficult to enjoy most of the times as people just go in and get killed on purpose just to get the XP as quickly as they can and then log out.

Literally the only people who are content with the expansion are Astrologians and Paladins, though for me, even though I am (was) excited about the additions to my old main, I really feel like it's not worth having the rest of the jobs I used to enjoy dumbed down to such levels of boredom. I don't know if I'll be able to stand Stormblood like this in the long run.

No one at SE plays SCH. You can't possibly say with a straight face that SCH was tested by professionals. This is an amateur botch made by developers who have literally zero idea how to balance. I'm convinced YoshiP only knows how to balance BLM. Whoever proposed the idea of SCH's changes in 4.0 and whoever ultimately signed off on it needs to be fired. That level of incompetence is rivaled only by the one who implemented the shallow requirements for the instance server.

Hmm I just realized about Deployment Tactics... if you want to utilize it fully, you'd need to use a role skill eye for an eye solely to fully utilize a skill in your skillset... This doesn't feel right at all, it's like you'd need to role skill cure for white mages to get a freecure proc...
Meanwhile Dissipation, the first skill that felt like breaking the job action synergy, remains unchanged...


Please take the time to revise the scholar skill set and if needed, separate it from Summoner once and for all

Why do I feel so weak in both the DPS and the heals departments?

I have since the beginning chosen 1 healer, 1 tank, a melee dps, and a ranged dps.
Ok that being said.
I noticed the sch nerf big time. Nobody died though so still doable.
My poor paladin ;_; i cant even...skip it for now.
Monk? No maybe samurai if i can ever get past quest 1.
Ranged dps...at the end of the day im just a bard. ..pew pew pew

What are you talking about? I don't remember anyone saying scholar was too complicated. If anything people were annoyed that scholars always had a guaranteed raid slot above all.

I also don't get all the whm hate in this thread. They aren't much better off so how about we actually direct frustration where it should be directed.
