I agree with you that when rewards are really easy, that there is no satisfaction of completing or gaining anything. World of Warcraft is a great example. Things used to be hard in that game and now its just free loot on patch day, with clearing content in a week or less.

However capping content is not the correct approach.

Furthermore, if they balance the loot and dungeon SP correctly, why would 50s want to go back and clear it over? To get loot for their friends? You can already do that with the random NMs.

Inevitably one of two things will happen. 1) Cap imposed and prevents players from running things, thereby making the dungeons irrelevant to nearly all players. 2) Players get bored with old content and higher level players run through the dungeon with their lower level friends to get them new gear because it is not an inconvenience to run through quickly.

In both situations, the dungeons become irrelevant: with the latter being at least of some use by showing newer players the content in place and getting them new gear to help them progress. It also takes some of the miserableness off levequests and the grind.

While it's true it's two different things it's still should be something dungeons and raids have, those two might only be the beginning, but there will be more end-game content and mid-level content.

if they did missions/story capped like CoP was I would be ok with the dungeons being more trivial content, but let's face it right now the story fights are almost non-existant and are a real joke. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Well, as far as I see it Miss Jaide Lynx :P, We will just have to wait and see how the "Uncapped version" of these Dungeons play out then see what needs to be changed. but the fact of the matter is if these Dungeons are easy because of a Range Range of 25-45 Then its only going to defeat the purpose. Say you do this:

Rank Range 25-35~ and you have to put it on 3 star for the R35's The R25's are aren't going to hit or deal damage as well considering the "scaled mobs" are like 50 instead of 40 and what happens if the Tank is R25? Insta death =(.

That's just an example on what "could" happen, it depends on setup and rank range, and also:

Rank 25~35- please take note the sp gain comes into factor here, if R25 comes in with a R35, Mister R25 will get reduced sp if not all of there sp.

Capping the Rank would get rid of some of the problems

Well with the Materia Craft System coming I wouldn't worry too much about the crafters, as for the twinkies, does this really affect you? If you know you won't do it, then why should everyone else be locked out of doing it? So once again does it matter if some R50s get some mid-rank gear? Besides the real challenges come with the R50 dungeon, this is where the real stuff will be earned.

Edit: Anyway I'm done arguing this, I said what I had to say. I'll let the poll do the talking at this point. I will say this if we do cap the dungeons, then we may have another FFXI problem where people complained and they ended up uncapping things later. Anyway, later.

I'm all for a cap, if this means I, as a R50, will be capped down to where I can enter the dungeon and not be excluded from it completely cause I don't have any R30 class anymore.

The content is made for R30s and is supposed to be "fun" for R30s, so let the people entering the dungeon, be lvld down to 30 so there is some "reason" to do it. If you can just bring any R50 player to zerg through the dungeon it will destroy the whole purpose of the content and it would have made all the effort from the dev team in vain to implement new low lvl content.

I love rank/levep caps makes u think and strategize the encounter

what does a cap have to do with waiting for members... everyone enters gets capped to 30 or below - if they are not 30 or higher yet. Thats pretty easy and doesnt involve any waiting

Except they already confirmed you WONT BE SOLOING THEM. 4 or 8 party requirement to ENTER.

A cap is most definitely needed. Otherwise you're going to have high level players steamrolling groups through dungeons, which is a bother in several different ways.
