And how do you know how it was intended to run? Are you one of the devs? Why do you think the option to skip cutscenes and rewatch every cutscene in the inn exists? Or are you trying to say a dungeon that is the most efficient way to get endgame gear, wasn't meant to be ran for endgear? It very well works both ways, no matter how hard you try to deny it.
Not splitting gear and story dungeons, or making it so that after finishing the story dungeon you unlock the gear version of said dungeon (Kinda like GW2 I suppose) was simply a dumb move by SE. Just look at it. You complete a dungeon ONCE for the storyline. You complete it OVER AND OVER for gear afterwards. Who do you think is the larger population in the DF? Firsttimers or people farming gear?
