As a healer, is it my job to DPS? A new perspective.

I dont learn by watching videos Im on the ground actually doing this content, unlike you . Get some experience of this content now please before you come here telling people how to play. Well I do apologise for having a low skill level. Are you one of those that think that only high skill level players should play then? Actually if you read the posts and didnt skim them then you may have seen some posts that agree in having choice after all this is a game not a dictatorship.

You're probably right about the skimming, however claiming this is dictatorship is far from it basically people have been trying to help you to be better and they've seen you improve. You bring playstyles and even have a thread where healers should have different ones where it's fine for a game you enjoy it has no place in Savage for healers who just heal and do nothing. It's not the elitists commanding the non raiders to do what they're doing no, at the end of the day it's your sub and your character I was just stating that play style vs how raids are handled in this game cannot correlate as they are just too different where it focuses on DPS where: DPS is the biggest mitigation > shorter encounters > less healing.

I didn't mean to come off hostile I am just bringing up the points that have been already said in this post to help you and future players is all and how DPS itself is the biggest playing factor for any player who uses their toolkit effectively instead of sitting around for 30 seconds not doing anything when they coulda been DPSing.

The title says as a healer is my job to dps?
Answer: Yes, its on your skills, but as everything in life, just do it when u knows nothing else will go wrong.

I liked this post so Im quoting it, as this is what happens. Sorry if my opinion is unpopular, but the pro dps camp wont admit that healers are 'harrassed'. Even saying in my examples but in another thread was told it doesnt happen because its just my 'experience'. Well keep saying repeatedly that it should not be forced, as no one gets to top skill level before practice, even if you know your job theres too many other factors. I can go in fights and know if im able to dps or not, looking at gear levels, damage taken, tanks mitigation and skill of co healer are all factors. I will refuse if these arnt meeting requirement

look it from another perspective. Let's say the DPS are having trouble meeting DPS checks due to whatever reason or inability to skip certain hard mechanics by just blazing through it with damage and healer DPS could change all that. Wouldn't refusal of that simply make the job of six players (tanks included) harder, rather than one player?

Im not sure you read my recent posts. That refusal, is stopping a wipe in which case no one gets through the instance not just one player. Its a wipe if I dont heal. Not sure why thats hard to understand? Im not living in cloud cuckoo land am I when I say stuff like low gear, no tank mitigation, inexperienced co healer, people dying, and I stand dpsing to 'blaze' through it?

well is this a joke? Because isnt it obvious if people need healing you cant dps at the same time? Or can you do both at once and then Im missing some special skill that allows you to heal and dps at the same moment of time. Please get real, last night I did practice run on a10s with new healer. Between rezzing I was solo healing or is that some scenario that doesnt exist because its my experience? Just please try it youself and then come back and tell me how you blazed through it with your dps
