I guess + as long as you survive 15 minutes you can death warp back to town inn get sanction and warp back to camp or something. Only bad if you're in raid or w/e + when you get raise in mid battle have to switch weapons since without sanctionthe somemost sanction weapons are crappy lol - but then again it's in mid battle with party so you wouldn't be able to switch weapons, can you?? haven't even tried that w
If sanction worked on all gear then yea maybe it would actually be a decent death penalty but because it only works on a handful of gear .. who cares.
They should just introduce a charge item. It costs as much as 15 sanctions and can be used to apply Sanction to a currently-equipped item up to 15 times. Once it's exhausted, it can be refilled for the same price.
The number 15 is arbitrary, obviously. Could be 5. Could be 50.
The think at least part of the problem is the name of the buff. When people hear sanction they think of the sanction and signet and sigil buffs from FFXI. Those you didn't lose when you died, so people are getting the idea in their head that it should be the same in XIV. If it was called something else, I bet there would be less people complaining.
Since the real trick is not dying, i wouldn't mind that, after all im gonna get sanctioned after the raid if I die anyway, and its not gonna cost me any amina cause ill just HP. Maybe have them at the camp so it takes a lil of the easy mode away.

Well, if i die using a gc weapon i cry, and then forced to switch to something else ;_; oh well, if they release items to cast it upon ourself, that would be good

If a charm is casted on the articles (weapons/gear) why does it change effect when the player/user dies? The spell is casted on gear not the player. If they want to make it where if the player dies and the effect is gone to re-write the article where the charm is casted to bind the spell between the article and the user, which this article doesn't say.Quote:

So it seems that we will eventually get items like the signet staff in XI, allowing us to give sanction to each other the way we gave signet to each other in XI. I wonder if there are any plans to increase sanction duration based on the players rank.

Just gonna translate this one quick for people still doing the BLM method for Garuda.
There is going to a patch 1.22a on 5/10 (JP) to fix the issue where you can take down Garuda before it's aerial blast. They will make it so you still can use the same strategy and wont affect strong effect but once Garuda's HP is below certain point it will always use the Aerial blast.
doing translations later today if possible... need to fix office's server programs since it went whack... I'm not even their IT guy and don't get paid extra to fix this... /sigh

Just says for new players they wont know what each icons means for that new materia attachment slot info.
Market search I guess didn't have that display so they adding that there on 1.22a patch, and also will try to have information available for new people to check to understand icons.
I don't understand why they changed it in the first place, simply having "Legs" was enough to know it was for Legs but now we have a bunch of faded out icons along with one icon "Legs" so we know it's for Legs. <_< Was it really hard for people to read what they worked on?
Those Icons really do suck...
That seems to be the trend with new programs / themes. I may be oldfashioned, but I rather plain text neatly organized into categories than unreadable and cryptic icons everywheres. Here's looking at you microsoft office 2010 + gmail's new theme.
Doesn't help that I'm horribly nearsighted and too stubborn to get glasses.
