I really like something in that post that is true no matter what your position on the healer problem is and that is-- please change something. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. The team needs to stop being afraid that something might fail. The newer patch content has not been well received-- the game has not collapsed. The slow progress on job design seems strange.

Even the job changes we are aware of have been, and are still, quite far away. I've been told the team is quite small and I suppose that's why. Especially with so much of XIV locked into a rigid schedule, it would just be nice if during these lulls they tried out new things.

That is in no way a logical assumption, there is a thread in the healer subforums about healer change suggestions and not one of them mentions a 1-2-3 combo as something we'd like to see.

You very obviously haven't done any research at all into what the community wants if you think we can be split into 2 camps of "2 DoTs" and "1-2-3 combo".

EDIT: Also, I'm still waiting for someone to lay out this miraculous type of design that can keep the veterans fully engaged with only healing across all content while also not massively overwhelming the weaker/newer healers. I'd be very interested to see it.

We need a time mage job that switch party job skills and that would be complex enough, beter than BLM complexity.

Right, because talks of also wanting to prune the healing action bloat, make healing more interactive, and restore the healthier balance between healing and DPS uptimes hasn't been discussed ad nauseam. It's almost like someone might be cherry picking.

Never said anything about 1-2-3 "combos" just said using 1-2-3, as in 3 separate dps skills. Don't honestly care if I had 10 unique dps skills on my healer, IMO no amount of damage skills will make the role fun to play, because at the end of the day the main part of the role "healing" will still be boring and a side job

Cool, then stop talking and let those of us who do want unique skills to continue asking for it. If it doesn't matter for you, then stop trying to undermine other players for something irrelevant to you.

It’s a valid concern.

The reason is simple: inexperienced will never understand the high ends because they either lack the experience or insight beyond ‘feelycraft’. But veterans on the other hand could understand on both ends because each of them was once an ‘inexperienced’ too at some point in their progression.

Do your research, experience the role in differing content(s), and maybe get better. Or not, because I don’t pay your sub. :p
