I mean, just a couple of pages ago people were arguing about how the depiction of naked kids is totally fine as long as it isn't hyper-hyper realistic. Not sure if you're automatically a puritan when you think arguments like that are in poor taste.

Just a lot of selective reading going on.

At this point I wish SE would just go scorched earth and actually enforce their own rules by any means possible.

I don't think anyone cares if people are banned for using Mods. SE's game and SE's ToS to enforce; or in this case not enforce.

My problem is the moralizing and fake outrage. A lot of you REALLY don't want to keep track of your own kids apparently; and really like getting on SE and the FFXIV community for not parenting them well enough for you.

I just think maybe it's about time parents stopped relying on everyone else to do the job for them.

It is a communal responsibility to watch out and do what is generally in the best interest for children. They are the future as such we all have a vested interest in making sure they are safe.

This whole parenting issue has been such a weird and wild take. The responsibility for a kid has always been bigger than just the parent's. That's the whole reason why child protection services and children's rights organizations (which recently have been fighting for laws surrounding online grooming btw) are even a thing. Try and imagine this: some kids don't even have parents.

This will make me out to be an ass, and I am okay with that. Though I have to ask, why should I care? No one really have given a compelling reason as to why I should care about the wellbeing of another person's child. A lot of it boils down to kids tho.

No, it's not the community's responsibility to raise your kids or take care of them. I don't give a **** about your kids. I already subsidize their education and every youth program out there.

The world in general and America in particular has developed this pretty damn creepy level of child worship.

Things have changed, a village used to raise a child because essentially everyone would need to rely on each other to survive, instead of baby formula you would simply give your child to a mother with excess milk for feeding, etc.
That worked because everyone was on the same page and at the same developmental stage, it was in your best interest to raise children since it was no skin off your back and all pros.

People expect others to keep that same tribalism now that things have changed and we're no longer on that same page. There's a difference between leaving an abandoned child to die and not being family friendly on the internet.
Granted I haven't read the entirety of this thread and apparently there's some MAP(s) justification going on here so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
