Also, in your example, what does this person-1 win? and how does person-2 know person-1? If they are friends, that's between them and none of your business, if they are not, then how do they know? And more importantly, what do they actually win?
It seems like you're fairly new, because the term p2w specifically refers to gear, the term came from primarily asian grinders, where you can buy better gear and "win" battles against other players using money, or "win" world firsts for specific raids and bosses... key word, Win.

Sorry, I thought you quoted my other thing. My bad. I really don't care what anyone calls it anymore, regardless of what people call it, it still gives an advantage. To be specific though, I was comparing two new people starting at the same time, not a new person vs someone else that has been playing. It is just my thoughts though, on it. I'm not trying to convince anyone to agree with it. I've already voted by canceling.

I could not believe that at this point you, or anyone, had to ask what the advantage of this thing would be. The advantage it provides is the very thing that it provides : skipping content.

As for how to know it is pay to win, that's simple. And, for that matter, it was stated in posts around the one which I answered you with :
It is spending out-of-game currency for some form of in-game advantage.

What the advantage is, is irrelevant. That it is an advantage for someone is what matters. That it is not at end game is also irrelevant.

Nothing has been changed about the jump itself. Change the scenario changes the outcome, sure - but the scenario has not changed (i120/i130 gear, 2.55 done, level 50). The only difference is you are past that. The scenario is not "bring them up to your level" the scenario is, as SE stated, "bring them up to X level". Whether you, I, the game, is at or past X level does not change the scenario.

The scenario, as described be SE though explicitly stated not to be, is still Pay to Gain X Power - which IS Pay to Win.

I said this before Yoshi's announcement, regardless of the potions, they must clean it up, whatever it takes, it must be done, as these gates will still continue to drive people away.
Also, even though the XP gains would help, I feel its only a half step as no matter how much xp is given, those 100's of fed-ex's are still blocking your way.

Can't say I'm particularly bothered by this. I have no need for it, so I won't use either.

I don't normally post on forums. But this really has me triggered "jump potions" or a boost in other terms is a good thing in my opinion it's the people that use it and MESS up that are the problem. It's like the famous saying Gun don't kill people, people do. Also I agree that yes they can make the MSQ better or when you hit level 50 give people a toggle if they want to skip MSQ and move onto Heavensward. But the easiest option and the one that makes them money so they can keep on funding a great game is a Boost that's it and they went with this option and I totally agree with everything that Yoshida said it's there to ease the leveling process as I have my main char at level 60 and currently in BiS on Machinist and completed Alex Savage so I decided because I have more time I'll level another character at this very moment that character is stuck at level 51 and still on 2.3 storyline and I just got bored and gave up. The "jump potions" fixes this for me plain and simple.



ALSO I LIKE TO POINT OUT THIS IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT!!!!!!!!

I'm in complete agreement with you there, this doesn't solve it at all, and as I said in another post, I was championing for the MSQ clean up weeks ago before Yoshi's announcement as I feel its far too important to leave as it is.
As for the potion itself, I'm sort of on the fence about it. If it helps with the financial stability of the studio and lets us have more content in the future, then I'll lean towards not having a problem with it.

Seriously though, this is my own fault for not leveling my other classes ever since I started playing this in BETA.

The grind is real, and in it's own sense not so much as rewarding anymore. But this doesn't mean I won't be learning how to play the jobs, it just means I won't need to spam countless PoTD and dungeons and get right to the true end game....Glamour

Remember you have a choice to use this or not. I for one will be using the job jump potion.

Ya, the story stuff has been brought up multiple times in the past before this.

I'm against the potion myself, I actually canceled all my accounts as a direct result of it even being discussed. (103 days left) I'm kind of hanging out to see how they respond to all of this. Until then I won't be re subbing if ever. Makes me sad, sucks that I'm going to lose all the houses (FC+Personal+a personal I got for a friend on my alt since they don't play as often) but it's just not something I can get behind. Its the first time my sub hasn't been active since 1.0

Despite all this, I hope they still fix the story stuff.

That's the main issue in these threads. Even when the producer himself gives people enough data to say that the concerns they have is actually not as impactful as they expect, they still get it wrong, and when someone explain what these numbers are about, they still refuse to get it right.
