Think of this. Yoshi is at E3 , it would make sense since they arent doing a HUGE presentation on this (that we know of yet) that they just bring what they have on a laptop. If thats the case (which i am not saying it IS, just saying COULD be) thats awesome.

That you could run this on a laptop and have it look like that would be kick ass. It would prob also be close to what the ps3 specs run at I would think.

Now if this is ligit, the screens everyone got could be from the same place this guy saw them at. I am sure we will know in a day or 2! Again, I am not saying this is 100% ligit, only saying that this article leads me to believe it could be possible.

They sent the PR shots out in a devkit to various sites, Yoshida doesn't even need to be at E3 to release them :P. If anything he would bring a pretty damn good laptop for demonstrations as the image is going to get blown up on a large screen. But I digress I have yet to see one in game shot of this game from a PR stand point that has ever shown all the 'bells and whistles' of the game engine. The closest we have gotten are concept images which used the real models from the game but not actually implemented into it. Not saying he does, but since I am pretty sure he is there, its possible he sent them from there while giving a demo or getting ready. It will be nice when we get an official press release on the matter and we can all move on with our lives with this issue. Still happy with it all if those shots are on max settings so i suppose it makes little difference in the end.

That was exactly my point, you saying that it existed in the dev tracker doesn't prove that it actually does exists there. Just as people saying a miracle patch was _confirmed_ for release didn't prove that it was actually confirmed. But this doesn't matter now that skies has posted it, because now it's really proven that it exists.

So.... I really want to see the game in motion now, cause I think that'll look awesome.

Let's correct your statement:

3 or 4 people just looking to nitpick happened. It's funny b/c if you watch the forums you see the same handful of people who do nothing but bash and smack talk over nothing. It's like they pay the monthy fee for the game just to start shit on the forums till the day they get banned only to have like 2 more take their place within the month.

Where is optimising defined as "make worse" though? Reducing graphical quality isn't really optimising. That's just compromising. Optimising would be keeping current graphical detail and making them display more efficiently. But whatevs.

Sometimes in life.. you can't have both.. its either 1 or the other.. or a Balance.. or it will ( in the computer world) Bottleneck :P.

If reducing the graphical quality makes the game perform better for EVERYONE instead of only those with tons of money to dump on upgrading their system then it does fall under the category of Optimizing. No where in that definition did it say "To make things look more pretty" its pretty much to sacrifice something in order to enhance performance and making them run more efficient.

The current graphics and such is run on an entirely different engine then 2.0, we are playing on a FFXIII engine as of now (atleast this is what I heard) while 2.0 is being run on one that is actually better suited for a MMO and tailored to work with XIV for better performance. a few blades of grass and weird ground textures should be the least of your concern unless you run the game on minimum which I really can't help you there.

Many times before and many times to come people have complained about crappy textures in Screenshots presented and then people who read it jump on the complain train with them only to realize once you see it in game on YOUR personal settings the crowd dies off until they find something else to complain about. You are not the first and will not be the last. I suggest you hold all your judgement until you see for yourself.

Yea, I apologize for even trying to debate them. Graphics aren't even important now those screenshots have injected me with the most intense hype serum ever made by mankind!

PS: I will one day rival you Subligar Empire with one of my own. I was known as Lord of Subligaira in XI by owning EVERY Subligar available in-game even up to date. I resub to collect new additions. I do not intend to be dethroned sir. :P
