Pretty sure the Viera thread that has over 1400 pages says otherwise.

All the content, MPK.
theres no story. The rest of Fanfest was a lie, actually. They stopped doing everything and focused on bunny boys.
Do you guys really think male Viera will be that rarely played?
I mean, female Viera did become the third most popular race, after Miqo'te and Au Ra.
So I'm guessing male Viera will be fairly popular too.
I definitely plan on playing as male Viera.
I love my Elezen, but it's gonna be awesome having another tall, handsome male option.
On a side note, I don't think the male Viera look feminine at all.
They're not hypermasculine. Hypermasculine would be more like the Roegadyn and the Highlanders. But not being hypermasculine doesn't mean you're not masculine at all.
I can definitely see the difference between male and female Viera. It's apparent to me. It's more than just hair length. It's facial features and bone structure, body proportions, etc.
Male variants seem to be the lesser played of all popular races (bar Hyur). The body type also reminds me too much of the Elezan males (tall/skinny) which are the third lowest played male race in the game -- if you want to go by what XIV Census says.
It fits too much of a niche. I also believe Fem-Hroth would also be unpopular for the same reason (too niche). I would have to see their customizations first prior to actual judgement.
Male viera will probably be fairly popular, probably like female viera. The number of hyur bots will skew the % though. It really depends on how much future support they give them, like if they add hairstyles, select headgear, etc.. A lot of future male viera will switch back to what they were playing prior, when they realize the limitations, if SE continues to not support their 'limited' races.
Don't have to read much into it. A lot of people just don't like the idea of bunny boys in general, or "weeb" games.
Of course, it's a matter of taste in the end. Just what I'm seeing people seem a lot more enthusiastic about how they look and most of the "controversy" (if you can even call it that) is regarding their height.
I'd say it's almost a given they'll have the same issues as female Viera though, but they're still pretty popular despite of it.
As I said I would need a more hands-on look at their customizations to be more critical of them -- however, they seem just like taller miqote with long torsos from the trailer. I think they will be between Male Lalafell and Male Au Ra popularity or between Male Au Ra and Male Elezan popularity.
Not overwhelmingly popular but not rare either;
*sighs*
After my wife made me watch Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu and Blood C. I had a look of horror on my face when Bunny boys was shown.
With that being said, Players wanted it and they gave it. Why be upset about that? Can't we be happy for people who wanted it even if some of us did not?
Despite how they put the original poster does have some valid concerns and the questions I would ask is this.
Will they be addressing the lack of hair styles as it currently stand to change you have to pay for a fantasia to change hair on a rothgar and currently the hair styles that you can get in game are not useable.
Will they be adding more hats any time soon as I know that is another big turn off for some players who probably would switch.
Serious question here. How much of this thread I can take seriously?
Regardless of your point of view and whatnot, I really like your posts because they make me laugh. Also, I find it really astonishing the amount of sheer verbal assault being targeted at you in these forums. You really found a way to summon the primal within most people around here.
I've reached the conclusion that both MPK and the other serial moaner Venandi are posting purely to gain attention and reaction. There is also the growing suspicion they are bigger fans of rival mmo's and just out to cause trouble here.
That's incorrect. As you can see by my signature, I actually Infact play this game and actually care for it unlike the toxic casuals that want to make this game into a brothel simulator.
Each post I make, I make sure to have the community in mind.
I genuinely care about this game and the community and it saddens me to see the path that this game is taking.
Venandi on the other hand, I don't know anything about that guy so I can't comment on his situation.
I will gladly take blows from the toxic casuals so the real content consumers don't have to. :)
I'm not taking sides on this. I have a few questions about this mindset.
What do you enjoy in this game?
What is a toxic casual compare to normal casual? Brothel simulator and what they do does that ruin the content that you do enjoy? What some players find fun, how does it ruin your own?
You care about the community? Yet the community a huge part of the community enjoys the freedom of playing how they want, and the rp community sure has some kink stuff that I am aware of. (look at the server I joined after all. ) So seeing a bunch of people in the city role playing being silly. I treat them as NPCs that add to the world. I adapt around them. With them being gone, it won't really change a thing for me in what I find fun in the game. So what content that you do, that players can't have his or her fun that is costing your own?
I'm just curious.
It's incredible to see how fast and hard people take it. In watching a train wreck kind of way. I see the defenses of "I'm just humoring" and "lol I know it's bait but" as well as other paper thin excuses to save face. But ever since observing the forums several years ago, people here just can't stop taking everything literally or seriously.
The problem with male Vieras isn't even their existence but rather that they took the laziest way out and just cut the female features on a female Viera and voila! It literally just looks like a female Viera without boobs.
The male bulge slider was cut for the male Viera addition. This also includes jiggle physics for the bulge, too.
