hildibrand questlines have a light heartedness to them n quite amusing.. i say bring on more every patch i for 1 enjoy the more lighter quest lines once in 1 while doesnt always have to be end of the world/ doomsday type stories i personally laughed at godbert n wol reaction to hildys mother found it quite funny lol

I've seen enough moaning about the difficulty of the story Trial and Odin to think that maybe everything in this patch isn't as easy for everyone as you make it sound.

story trial was pretty simple and odin trial has simple mechanics its just a dps race really dont know why ppl are having trouble with those

DPS check =/= difficulty (though Titans' Heart was actually a decent DPS check that applied pressure on the party by allowing Titan to continue his usual rotation). If people are capable of surviving just fine up until those points, then it's not a hard fight.

*Okay, to clear it up, a DPS check where the boss doesn't do anything at all to hinder you is not difficult or challenging.

that depends. is he charging up an instant kill move that has a double activation proc, one is around 15% the other is what? 5 minutes? if your running in a party with people who have level 70 gear on you wont make that dps check ever. I have seen odin activate his final while he still had 35% hp. I havn't seen the final proc at lower then 15%

Thats because he always do it at 15%. I had farm party with 5 dps and we got him to middle as he spawned second gungnirs. I think 15% is something like transition to the next phase.

But when he's casting Shin-Zantetsuken, he's not doing anything to apply pressure to the group. He's not blasting AoE's, making you move, making healers prioritise healing, etc. He's just standing in the middle of the arena and either willingly keeling over or outright telling you to abandon the duty and find a group of players with decent DPS.

He's either a guaranteed win (even with wipes due to possible Weakness/Brink of Deaths) or a waste of your time (not enough DPS despite no one getting KO'd).

How about implimenting both Hildebrand AND Savage Fcob? This game releases hard modes every 6 months for end game anyway and we still dont have EU servers and a datacenter in Canada which even most NA players cant benefit from.

How much resources would it require to impliment savage Fcob AND Hildibrand?...

yeah...unfortunately if you look at it in a realistic light, final coil is has less player visibility then Hild, mostly due to the smaller # of players who actually get to experience it. many MMO's are realizing that cutting edge (a.k.a progression material, be it PvP or PvE), is only seen by a small percentage of their playerbase, whereas storyline (most often solo or small group content) is seen by a much larger audience. even though the progression content can consume many hours of time for those players who do get to experience it. it is a numbers game OP, but I think the real numbers lie on the opposite side.

I love the Hildebrand stuff, but I think it needs more relevance to the storyline. Like I do enjoy the callbacks to other FF games from it, but it's seems like the "optional" aspect of it results in less people willing to queue for it. I waited more than 70 minutes (initially short two DPS, then short 1 tank, and then short one dps, then short 1 tank, after it popped several times without commencing.)

I wanted it...and asked for it. I look forward to seeing Hildy on the First. That 2nd post in this thread with 300+ upvotes tells me many think the same too.

I would rather see them release content that the vast majority of the playerbase can enjoy instead of something that only appeals to very few people.

I mean everytime an Ultimate is added it's basically nothing for the people who aren't interested in that tier of raiding, obviously they should still try to please raiders, but a good majority of the content released should be appealing to the general playerbase.

Ultimate has much more of an impact overall. It gives high end raiders something to do and a lot of people follow the progression of various friends/raid teams even if they never intend to do it themselves.

Anyway five years later and I'm glad SE didn't toss the Hildebrand stuff. Looking forward to seeing what they've got planned for ShB.

5yr ld thread most likely around the tail end of ARR beginning of HW when Hildabrand was up in the air about returning, now we know Hildabrand is a main stay for each expansion.

I'd have been more surprised if he didn't return after the ending of the SB quests

had him getting dragged into the void along with our favorite interdimensional traveler.

They needed a way for him to be able to reach the First, and ol' Gilgamesh was a good answer to that.

And you're correct, nothing has been said by the developers yet. We know he will appear at some point this expansion due to the SB set up but we still have no time frame.

The OPs (five year old) argument was flawed from the start: the story team dont make dungeons. Different teams would recycle an encounter for savage and another team would make quests. The OP could have argued that a Hildy quest would take time away from the MSQ but not a savage dungeon.

Besides haven't they made that now.

And again, people forget that you play on SE's servers and they know down to the last player who does what; plays what job; how long they play; and if they give up in a quest when they give up .

I would have said that Hildibrand might take away from trial development, but looking back, we actually had more trials overall in ARR alongside 3 Hildibrand trials. We had no Hildibrand trial in HW and still less trial overall in HW, though we at least got 1 Hildibrand trial in SB.

Well they dont have to make a trial for it but if they did then they would use the 'trial' resources I would image along with an extreme version. The Triad trials back in HW were not part of the main story but their own side quest.

We should petition for an entire Hildibrand based expansion... >.>
