I must've gone blind. Can you show me where I mentioned Youtube?
Jesus, people will cry about anything. Even if the game was perfect, someone would find something to cry about, like saying that the color red in the game isn't red enough.
Sorry, OP. But there is already a thread about this topic on page 1
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...age-License%29
Please, don't make a new thread if the old thread is still on page 1. It reduce your daily new thread allowance for nothing.
I'm going to say it, just because no one else has. Stop the Youtubers advertising the game before the servers break again.
Joking aside, even if they aren't going to get paid for making videos, as long as they make the videos good enough and the person who is commentating is entertaining, then people will check out there other stuff. As someone said before me, people don't find the game entertaining, its the PERSON which makes the videos fun.
If a Youtuber is serious about what they do, then they will simply see making videos for this game as another door to there channel.
It's what the entire thread is about....
Unless this:
...was in no way related to the actual thread it's in. Actual journalists get permission from SE to use their copyrighted material when they make a review and are not affected. People who are not receiving any kind of revenue are equally not affected. What kind of journalism were you referring to if not monetised user generated reviews on video sharing sites like Youtube? They are the only people affected by this issue.
Quid pro quo:
I must have gone blind. Can you show me where anyone stated explicitly that no form of journalism is a job?
Really? Without premission? So the gamecode they get sent by gamedevelopers is not a premission to showcase their game?
For those who say all videomaking on youtube is a hobby, ever seen the angryjoe reviews? The amount of effort he puts into his reviews, its insane. And all the props he buys. Yeah, thats not a real reviewer job at all...
It's not. The gamecode you or anyone else gets is only a license to play the game NOT to showcase the game. In fact, if they didn't have that license that allowed us to showcase the game it would be illegal to stream or upload video. What these youtubers need to do is what professionals do and contact the company to get an expanded license to be able to do more than the average Joe can do with the product.
