Difficult experience in Forked Tower – a reminder to respect public content

Then blame SE not the players. What you are doing is just shifting blame to randoms making use of an entrance system that spawns in their instance. That is what I call gatekeeping. Discord is a third party tool and should not be forced upon people. Which is exactly what these groups are doing. Join the discord, or gtfo of our instance. Meanwhile acting like the thing is well designed and creating a false image of the huge problem with this design, cause they literally own the content.

You can’t force other people to play with you under threat of the TOS. They are well within their right to simply leave if they don’t want you there. There are many instances open and anyone is welcome to attempt to start a forked run in any instance, you aren’t entitled to other people’s time if they don’t want to run with you. They can’t actually grief you but they don’t have to actively engage with you either and it’s not manipulating or anything of the sort to simply decide you don’t want to deal with said people

Literally nobody is saying this is well designed entry system. The discords are trying to make it work in the only way they can make it work, because if 48 random people step onto the platform and open the portal then they will achieve nothing inside

The discords aren’t devious Mafia rings laughing they get to “control” the content, they are trying to clear it the only way that’s viable to clear it

There should be no runs at all, if it means excluding 99% of the playerbase. We should've gotten a patch from SE yesterday.

Nah, they are laughing. And I've talked to some of their 'leaders'. They're some of the most elitist pricks I have ever met. And the whole environment cultivates that attitude so OP's experience is probably extremely common.

It only excludes the playerbase unwilling to socialize with each other to organize a run to finish Forked Tower. Fields operation were meant for players who wanted an old MMO FF11 like experience, if that is not for you then just do something else.

The fact you use the term “leader” to imply some kind of ring of control rather than it just being a colloquial term for party organiser shows if you have ever looked into any of these discords you basically just looked at like 2 lines decided it was easier to just declare they aligned with your preconceived notions of them and then left

The discords are more annoyed they don’t have more control over getting into the same damn instance than they are “laughing” they have some sort of control over forked.

Tbf the old MMO experience wouldn’t be Discord.
I know some who would have loved to do it with the ingame methods like PF or simply party chat like CLL.
I can totally understand the apprehension against Discord as I also hate it and it should always only be an option and not a necessity like in this case.

It is impossible to rally 48 people in a 72 casual player instance to do a savage raid. Hence there should just be a PF alliance queue in option like with DRS and Chaotic.
I am not saying the discords are entirely to blame for creating this environment , although many of them seem to revel in it. That's just a toxic player-ego issue.
But it has effectively lead to a monopolization because of the impracticality of organizing anything inside the game itself. It is just completely failed content.

Back in my day when dinosaurs still roamed the earth we used Teamspeak and Ventrilo to do content, and content in old WoW and FF11 was 100 times rougher and clunkier than whatever Forked Towers throws at you now.

I don't know if I could call out SE on this one given how popular and liked the Baldesion Arsenal is, and how doing that on discords was okay for almost 10 years now, but suddenly out of nowhere Forked Tower is an outlier?

They are called antisocial because they refuse to interact with people to organize for content, and they are called leeches because that's what snipers on FT do, they wanna get carried through the content.
