Yep. If players are pulling for the tank, then quite frankly the tank needs to step up. I never have that issue. :p That said, I don't think new tanks and/or healers need to be forced into it if they are still learning their job or the content in question. It's something that they usually need to build up to. If they are new, and their fellow players are forcing more on them, then that's not okay.

To your first point they're actually is one dungeon in arr where you can't or I need a very specific setup to do it. I forgot where it is remember I think it's the one where you open the chains and extra mob spawn because you can open all five chains and pull all the mobs but the damage at that level it's too much you don't have the cooldowns to survive it. I did that and I went from full hp to dead in less than a second with a cooldown popped.

Even then, all they have to do is to continue aoe'ing and continue using mitigation. Unless the dps is a dummy and doesnt drag the mobs into the tank. It's so funny seeing YPYT babies because they actively have to start griefing to not take the aggro from the extra mobs. As someone said earlier, you tank against 2 mobs the same way you would against 200.

Yes and no. You want to make sure you keep aggro on both, but it normally isn't optimal to keep spamming AoEs when there are only two mobs. Sometimes you want to make use of your single target tools instead. Some abilities will give you less DPS against two mobs than its single target equivalent would against a single mob.

At the end of the day, your job as a tank is fourfold;
1.) obtain and maintain aggro on all mobs
2.) position them optimally
3.) generate as much DPS as your job is capable of producing
4.) stay alive

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank whoever is in charge for making the calls for duty designs, for knowing the community well enough to put limiters between sections of trash mobs that won't disappear until every single mob it's dead. Many of the responses to this thread it's exactly why those limiters are needed.

Keep up the good work, and keep on adding those limiters. Sincerely, someone who joins roulettes to play and not to rush.

No you don't in two mobs you are use one AOE to get initial threat and then do your single Target rotating between the two because you don't have enough mobs that your AOE rotations viable vs 200 you would easily just keep spamming aoe rotation I believe it's three or four mobs it's more viable.

Good point, there may be a situation in ARR or two where it's not ideal to do this. But as a general rule especially once you are past ARR and all the dungeons become straight lines, I think every tank should eventually learn to Wall to Wall. I think it just becomes part of their role to pull efficiently.

I'm not saying they have to do this their first time or before they understand the dungeon, or if they are very undergeared or out of practice or something, but in general I think at this point it's a basic part of the role.

Not pulling wall to wall is a waste of everyone's time, including your own. Some leeway can be given for new tanks, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to have it figured out pretty early on in their tanking career.
