who cares about Zepla and what she says. I can't even stand her

Major streamers such as them generally try to stay in the good graces of SE and their viewers. When they feel they have to take sides and come down on SE, yes, it’s now officially bad for the post-EW period.
Zepla has already backed away from XIV and others are doing the same. This means their viewers no longer want XIV content and want something else. That is all the metrics the devs need to know for the short term future, things are not good, not good at all.
Once you get into a negative feedback spiral, it’s horribly hard to get out of it. The devs have to get involved quick to correct this before it’s too late and we end up in a possible death cycle.
This is why all of the XIV fans are so upset, we have seen this before, many times, and we want to stop it before it’s too late.
Because everyone seems to think they are some kind of expert on the state of the game and an authority, in which case everyone should be aware of who they are. If there are things you are dissatisfied with then just say that, don't use an internet personality to try and validate it.
I will say though from my perspective is how slowly FFXIV has become a stale boring game. Ever since Yoshi went to make FF16 just doesn't feel like any motivation was put into the work. I just don't feel like the devs have given 100% as of late. I mean look at all the events and lackluster they have been lately. Even rewards are small rewards which mean nothing. As I said before if this is how they are going forward to go to 7.0 10 years doesn't look promising at all
I think people's feedback is important and should still be listened to, but I would put a huge red flag warning by streamers whose job is to play the game lol. In some ways their feedback would have incredible insight, and others... I would say incredibly unique bias (also akin to the streamer burden and privilege as they are treated different in game).
Which isn't to say ignore but like.... that's a very specific and unusual view point compared to your average Joe and, imo, should be approached with a lot more caution than usual.
That said on relic and in general I love being catered to as a casual, but I also feel how it jumped right to future proof / very streamlined simple and was a bit strange. Definitely takes some of the mystique and variance to gameplay away, especially that someone who was more actively playing would have appreciated (the higher end of mid-core to hardcore). Which isn't even to say it had to be less casual friendly, just curious to go straight to the end of the story lol. Suggested ideas and seen in the other thread that seemed quite reasonable, without even taking away the accessible nature.
I can understand the endwalker hate, it is worse than shadowbringers, but why is shadowbringers getting hate? Personally it was my favorite expansion together with heavensward, I loved the story, locations, the new female Viera race, it felt like it had more engaging content, the characters were better and I thought it was the expansion that had the most players including people coming over from wow, so what was prophetic about it?
Shadowbringers as an expansion sucked. There was barely any content, Viera and Hrothgar were promised updates, and never got any until the end Yoshida said they were "looking into it". AT LEAST Shadowbringers had a little bit of content, Endwalker effectively has no content.
