Revelations (and Feedback) from Pandæmonium: Asphodelos

I just belive its years before the whole End of days/Zodiark mess...

I didn't really think about it until recently, but the fact that Elidibus was holding Lahabrea and Igeyorhm's stones in particular after his defeat in 5.3 suggested he was close to them.

I think that might lend even more credence to the theories that Erichtonios is going to become the next Lahabrea after the raid's story is through as he scarcely knows the present one, and we might end up running into the latter during the next two wings as well.

This isn't anything we've been told, to my memory. On the other hand, we do know that both Hyth and Hades are strongly gifted in aetherial sight.

I also got the impression that aetherial sight is something they have to do deliberately and it's not just "on" all the time – IIRC we were looking for someone and one of them said they could use their aetherial sight to locate the person but didn't want to.

Perhaps it's something they have to focus in on, like shifting between looking at something close or distant. In normal sight they may just see aether well enough to notice a curious Azem-coloured smudge in the corner of the room that needs further investigation.

I don't see a reason to assume that Pandaemonium's awakening has anything to do with events in the present day, and even if it was, no reason to assume that Themis "must" be present-day Elidibus somehow restored. It can still be him from that time.

The simplest out-of-story answer is that the raid always gets a post-credits teaser and this one is just odd because it's disconnected from normal time so it can't have the same "this happened after the final boss" logic applied to it.

If it has anything to do with MSQ events, I'd sooner blame it on an early manifestation of what will become the Final Days.

Yeah I didn't get the impression that that stuff all happens immediately after Elpis MSQ.

The Final Days in the past Etheirys that we saw clearly was like a loose retelling of that event. While we sure did end that thing responsible for Final Days, there are still a lot of questions that needs answers. (No puns intended). The devs are just using the Raid series and Alliance Raid series as their device for telling the story of from the Ancients' perspective so to speak.

Of course not, however if this is years prior IMO that makes the whole debate with Venat worse. Then this also means the zone should eventually blow up :P
It also leaves a lot of questions which the raid should answer.

But issues with the timeline so far.

When is this happening.
How is it that Azem knew
How does Elidibus know exactly when to send the WoL back - conveniently right when Hythlo and Emet arrive.

I've seen people use Persephone, which fits, as Persephone is a traveler of sorts. (Also, is Hades's wife in mythology, so WoL/Emet-Selch shippers love for that too =D )

Yeah, that did. But there's always a difference between public and privet personas, as Themis mentions.

There's so much we don't know about Lahabrea. We only have Erichthonius's side of the story. Maybe there's a good reason? We'll just have to wait and see.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of information about Lahabrea for a raid that's supposed to be about him. We met his son, and a guy who's obessed with him. We've known his abilities as a master of creation magicks since Shadowbringers, and that he was going on a sociopathic crusade and body hopping so much it burned out his aether. And that he had his own agenda that got cut off when Thordan ate him. Elidibus was worried about the fact Lahabrea wanted to cause calamities too soon.

I was thinking they might not only do a revisionism for Lahabrea by making Erich the Lahabrea that we know, so we see his eld past and form a bond and feel slightly bad about killing his tattered 12,000 year old madman self.

They could also apply it to Themis and our WoL. Of course, there's just pieces on the board and not a lot of material right now, so it's just passing speculation, but perhaps Themis is Elidibus's twin brother, and they're the sons of Venat. Perhaps current Azem is the Hesperos in that situation (and us by extension).

If it turns out the basis for Ye Olde Tempering was based off of seeking the adoration of a parental/mentor figure, then they could still deliver us a weak as hell version of, "The WoL was tempered to Hydaelyn." that's still not tempering, but is in the personalized root of it.

Probably not an an eventuality. Just musing.

Athena was just the prior keywarden of Pandaemonium, not necessarily the prior Lahabrea.

We can't say that he "knew exactly" at all. It could just be chance that he sent us to that exact time and place – doubly so if his own memories are still hazy.

(Come to think of it, his restored memories at this point may even be a muddle of everything stored in the soul stones, so bits of Emet and Lahabrea's memories as well.)

One third of a raid that's supposed to be about him, or rather his creations. We've only just set the scene at this point and there is plenty more story to unfold.

At this point in the Eden raids we hadn't even met Gaia yet.
