MSQ cutscenes - Allow vote to skip if there are no first time/new players

If you do it via the MSQ roulette it's 600 poetics if you've got a first-timer, 500 if not. Often if all I need for a job I've just leveled to 50,60,70 is the weapon and a 25 min. CM or 40 min. Praetorium suits me just fine. If I'm seriously farming poetics then there are better options.

But mostly I do it for the xp especially on DPS jobs since queue pops can take up to 30 minutes or beyond depending on the duty. Doing MSQ Roulette is a much better use of my time than trying to chain run whatever one or two dungeons are close enough to yield any xp.

Actually the large incentive was put in because no one was doing it.

And this community really dislikes vets, they should name the game FF14 - Fuck vets.

This game is not just for new players or rubbish players.

No one dislikes vets? But the kicking people? That was a legit thing, and I saw it happen multiple times for no reason, and it would just start up again if MSQ was reverted. Unless there was a flag at the start of the instance that said "If Newbie Then NoCutsceneSkip" that could never turn off, but as noted, such a thing can't be done.

I mean the cut scenes are not that long. I am a sprout and in the dungeons I run 99% of the people skip the cut scene anyway. If one person wants to watch them that’s cool with me.

I wish we could just pin one of these threads on the front page, so every week or so when someone comes up with it again, we can just point them there.

I mean, it wouldn't really help much, but we could try.

The cutscenes in most dungeons are fine, but this thread is specifically referring to the unskippable CSs in Praetorium and Castrum Meridianum. Those two dungeons have been a source of grief since they came out. :X

So what we need is basically a giant "TLDR: It's like this because you people whine too much" post to put all these things under? lol

Because basically it started with people whining about the duty getting cleared while they watched all the cutscenes.

Then Cutscenes in these duties were made unskippable so ppl stopped queuing them that had them cleared already.

Then SE boosted roulette rewards because of the complaints of people saying they had to wait hours in queue to have the duty start because hardly anyone queued it that didn't actually need it to progress the story. I think there was also a fair amount of whining about it being difficult with an entire party of under geared clueless sprouts as well because... mechanics.

Because this encourages the vets to kick any new players unfortunate enough to be grouped with them. Yes, this used to happen (as I'm sure you know) hence the introduction of further poetics bonus if there's a new player in a dungeon.

If a group consisting of 6 vets hoping for a cutscene free experience finds itself with 2 sprouts, don't tell me that they're not going to try to kick the sprouts. Maybe some won't, but some definitely will. If people hadn't behaved badly in the past, we wouldn't even have the unskippable cutscene thing

The fights are part of the new player experience so No.

Better idea - don't queue for MSQ roulette. Queue for other roulettes instead.
