It's precisely enough of a change to push WAR's average combo potency above both DRK and GNB. In order for burst and sustain to be balanced, you need to be at a relative disadvantage outside of your burst window and catch up during your burst. If you have it both ways, why would you play anything else? This is where both Heavensward and Stormblood fell short.

Downtime always benefits burst. Uptime always benefits sustain. But there has to be a trade-off. Otherwise you just have a high damage tank vs. a low damage tank, instead of burst vs. sustain. That's not a trade-off. You're just forced to take the higher damage option.

Giving players more variety to choose from is important. I'm not going back to WAR. Nor, I suspect, are the players who discovered GNB this expansion as an engaging, high damage tank. That's a pretty good thing. There are plenty of people who will want to pick WAR anyways because it feels comfortable, has flexible burst windows, and has excellent self-healing for soloing content. You could attract even more players by making the gameplay decisions more engaging and less mind numbing. That's a much better move than inflating its numbers to make people feel better about themselves.

But I think that if they actually read through NA/EU player feedback about tank ennui, or had community teams that were feeding this back up the chain, they would have known all this for a long time.

Blood weapon is kinda jank in certain circumstances, and they didn't fix this, during a pandemic, months before a new expac, one they're facing withering internal pressure to really deliver on.
Bummer, but I have other things to be disappointed and frustrated with.

Nobody is complaining about the lack of a fix right this instant. There's just no acknowledgement of feedback. That means one of several things. Either the community team is afk and not adequately communicating things back to the dev team, or the dev team is not checking in with them to see what feedback they're getting. I'm not sure which step the communication breakdown happened, but it's still a failure that needs to be addressed.

We're not even talking about a communication lag. We're talking about a communication deficit.

WAR getting a tiny buff does not change my experience playing DRK at all. It makes no difference whatsoever. SE design the jobs the way they want them to play, don't like it then play something else. Don't forget that the "job satisfaction poll" from last year showed that the vast majority of DRK players are happy with the way it is.

No, you are not being ignored by the community team, I'm sure SE can see the same 7 people who are complaining about it over and over and over, it's just that the majority are happy with how it plays.

Yes LD is bad in some situations, but in some other situations it's the best invuln. TBN is straight up the best skill in the game. BW isn't bugged or broken. It works fine and as intended.

You mean having a pocket WHM saving Bediction just for LD, otherwise its outright inferior to any other invencibility skill. TBN is the best 15 sec defensive cd but dont forget it also cost mp even if usually thats not an issue, having one good skill doesnt excuse from having garbage ones

BW is neither bugged nor broken. Its a badly coded skill that unless you have optimum ping, it messes with the intended rotation, something that could have been easily fixed either giving it 5 charges or increasing the timer to 12 seconds to extra wriggle room, and no, no tank is gonna squeeze a 6th atack off with that unless they have 2 sec gcd minimun something that is virtually inviable unless you are a monk

As someone who main DRK for 4 years from 3.0 and dropped for GNB in 5.0. There is literally no situation that LD is good.
