Increased community toxicity is a direct result of having a large pool of people.
More people so more of a chance that a toxic person will be met on average unless every interaction is done within a bubble of knowns.
Another problem with a larger player base is that it is more difficult to vet people. Time is valuable and it might take a while to find adequate people since skill level can be diverse. This is one of the reasons people use logs to make groups. It's simply much easier to have confidence in a group if there is available data to somewhat confirm competency.
I'm not siding with anyone, but that is just the reality when a game gets large. ARR and WoW during vanilla and BC people had reputations and would be denied/accepted based on that. This doesn't exist in either game now especially with cross-realm systems. If someone finds themselves constantly being denied, they need to make themselves look like a more valuable candidate.
If someone is actually going out of their way in whispers attacking someone, that is unacceptable. If someone is inquiring why they were kicked/denied and a direct noncombatative response is made, that isn't harassment.
75% of the Elitist/Toxic ppl in this game are Raiders who for some reason think just because they can follow a step by step instruction from a guide and clear "Hard content" with the help of 3rd Party Apps suddenly gives them the right to look down on the rest of the playerbase.
The remaining 25% are the Mentors, most who raid themselves, seems to offer more criticisms instead of actually providing good sound advice.
The Raider's think so highly of themselves, they blatantly sell Ex Trial/Savage wins for Paypal transfers on the Party finder everyday lol.
Hey thats rude, actual mentor you can find on the Novice Netwrok are helpfull people alway happy to give a hand or discuss about anything in a passionate but civil way. Don't let the crown fool you, they're not mentor, they're usurpator and we, real mentor don't deserve such treatment.
I am aware ;). However what I was referring to was not the posts but who the OP and of course posters of other threads were encountering in game.
It could also simply be that the OP is running into kids fueled by white castle and red bull at 2 am since I rarely run into extremely rude behavior during my playtime. Being old and needing to go to bed at 9pm has its advantages i suppose.
It might sound rude to you, but I'm just stating facts lol. The least toxic type of player in this game are the PS4 players mainly because they cannot use 3rd Party Apps.
Just simply mentioning the phrase "Tenacity is a good melding option for Tanks who only do casual content" is enough to get those Elite Raiders out of the woodwork with foam in their mouths.
