If RDM and BLU can melee, then I'd be pretty content with "mages" and to some extent, limited "casting".
Also, My post is not directed solely at people who want magic users/mages, but those who want more casters.

I have posted it before, but I still think RDM would work fine as a melee DoM DPS class that uses melee and (no-castbar!)magic on two different GCDs, with respective types utilizing MP or TP, and revolve around balancing multiple resources. That'd make the roles 4 tanks, 4 healers, 4 melee DPS, and 4 ranged DPS if we get one of each role in 4.0, satisfy the "I ain't got no time for no bathrobe wizard it's all boring gun mage bow mage" complaints by giving DoM a close-to-mid range melee class, and generally bring something unique to the table as a whole.

At best, if the game introduces "subjobs" that slightly altered a current job, Red Mage would be a subjob of White Mage that trades holy magic for elements (fire/ice/lightning) to basically make White Mage into a moderate DPS with some utility. 10-25-2016, 04:46 AMLeogunI do like the casts of my BLM but I also like the instant cast procs, specifically Thunder spells (my favorite). It's a contrast. Sometimes it requires prep, sometimes you can focus concentrated bursts or swift AoE blasts and I like options on how these are applied, i.e. tossing a swift "double Flare". I wish there were a way to "save" channeled casts up so, if I have to move, it pauses the cast instead of cancels it and maybe either restarts at that point within a certain window or applies its channeled cast to whatever spell you want.Quote:
