I don't want to further scare or isolate that person, but sometimes you do re-encounter people. I ran into the same person AFKing in Dun Scaith like 4-5 times over the course of a week, and yesterday in one of my Orbonne runs I learned mid-way through the first boss that I had our tank blacklisted from a previous encounter. I have bad social anxiety myself but it isn't an excuse for poor behavior. If you're finding being around people tends to end in conflict, while it can vary (there are some toxic people out there), the issue might not always be with other people.
- Next time I will let someone acting like this rant and rave and do nothing about it instead. Why try and engage them or defend myself? Just because I don't do well in social situations doesn't mean I'm going to let people be horrible to me and walk all over me. Usual day in DR, 3 runs that each took an hour each, but did have one moment that made it worth it. The tank died and as Profane WHM the boss went straight for me, whacked me down below 10k, charged up a tankbuster to which I threw Lost Seraph as a last ditch ...and literally evaded the tankbuster and next 2 autos at which point the tank got up, voked and took over.
No, you were the good guy for caring about the healer but going the wrong way about it. Refusing to play your role is unfair on the other dps. Getting into an argument and throwing insults back at the one who started it solves nothing. Coming to the forums and breaking rules will not solve anything either. If you someone insults you and starts using abusive language, stay polite and report them. It's one of the few things GM's take rather seriously.Quote:

Got Ridorana Lighthouse in roulette for a change (woo! not Snore Tower!), but since I so rarely see it my brain decided to NOPE out and purge mechanics from my mind. Had deaths I should have been able to avoid, woops. Fortunately it wasn't just me failing, as we had a number of people who were new/also forgot certain things. Still a fun run since it wasn't just mindless Glare spam.

I did my leveling roulette as a GNB on one of my alts. Ended up with Sastasha, but the healer was new so, eh, worth it. Then my health kept dipping way low because the healer wasn't healing me. We came to the realization that it wasn't an actual player, it was a bot. And it had broken. So the bot was just running around aimlessly.
I guess this is the new normal. -

All I wanted was to do my daily roulettes ignore most of the “Interesting” players I see while doing it, and go on with my day. Is that too much to ask? It seems so
To start off my Normal Roul. gave me Alex. Burden of Father where I got to see half the group die cause the healers decided to stand in the middle with their debuffs. but that didn't wipe.
No the problem was Trail..
The Roulette : Trial Roulette. The fight: The Wreath of Snakes. The party: Me on War, Friendo on SAM. PLD,WHM,SCH,DNC,DRG and another SAM for everyone else.
We have the small wait to see who pops stance first. PLD didn't bite so on mine goes and off I pull.
I quickly take note of the un-needed cure casts I'm getting. But I've been sadly so used to seeing cure on a WHM at any level I just roll my eyes and say nothing. The main star I noticed quickly was the SCH's cast bar. Or lack of. No Broil... Nothing. Adlo. Succer, God damn Physick. THOSE I saw. But no dmg.. Nothing. Zilch. I poke at they can do dmg knowing it wouldn't make a difference. Instead they continue standing there, waiting to heal something, even if its a small papercut, gotta heal that badboi back up!
Things continue like this till past ulti. At around.. 30%...ish those one blue, two red wheels come up. SCH has blue.... and. Instead of staying in the middle with everyone else... they RUN AWAY with it, to the other side... wouldntcha know it.. the whm followed. AND I think the SAM cause they died around then too unless they died to a misplaced red. Both healers are dead. And a sam. I'm not laughing YOU'RE laughing. But its fiiiine. I can keep myself up. And we have a PLD for everyone else... right?.... right? I take a quick glance at clem going on the PLD's castbar so I think we'll be good. 15% those stand in circles come down. I'm in one. At less than half health (Never got a clem from the PLD). I see two are about to be missed. (I didn't glance at the other one) Uh.... My cooldowns are still... cooling down. So I press holmgang.. which the game says NO! It goes on cooldown. But I die... Okay. Its fine. Still got that PLD. Only when I look over EVERYONE's health is bad EXCEPT the PLD. Whos sitting there comfortably at full MP.. Ha..... Hahaha..... Haha.....-Sigh-.
10% Its the dnc at about ¼th health. And either the drg or my friend. I can't remember. At ½ health, our buddy PLD. Still being at full health and MP. The DPS die at 8% from roomwide... Just the PLD...stack marker.. No Hallowed... they die.. I nope the hell right out of that. My friend pointed out the healers were glad I left. (They apparently were in the same FC, so not surprised) he saw another dps leave before he bounced too.
At least after my pen was gone and this was finished being written I got a nice *Kugane Ohashi that wasn't MUCH trouble. -

I need to get into higher content but i feel like it's too late to start looking for people to join me. But the normal dungeons and raids bore the crap out of me. I'm either thinking about moving servers to find raiders or start my own... it's either that or taking a stupid long break. But expert and the rouls aren't doing it for me anymore. I need something more. Like I used to hate healing because I was scared.. now it's my first go too. ( my poor sam main ) anyone got any advice on what it sounds like or am I'm just tapped out? This might be a stupid question and sorry if it is .. but I didn't want to make a new topic just for this so I'm writing it here. :c

A tiny positive story from a run I had yesterday morning. Sohm Al (Hard), I'm on DRK and got the privilege of running with a trio of people who were super experienced and super nice. This was only my second attempt to tank this dungeon and my first attempt at pulling wall-to-wall on it. Given that I'm still a learner tank it was pure joy to run with them. I wanted to keep them all three for me at the end, but alas it's not possible. One of the most delightful runs I've ever had.

If you're looking to do extremes, you can just pug those, but remember that most groups expect you to know at least a bit of the fight from watching a video on it beforehand, unless they specify "practice group" or say they will help. Had a WAR in WoD the other day that claimed to hate tanking the place...yet when one of the two GNB in the other alliances would provoke off of them they would provoke right back within a half second. Why, when you can EASILY see that the other two tanks are willing to tank it, would you bother doing that if you hate being the MT there? We also wiped on Cerberus because only myself and 3 others went into the stomach, and ended up dying due to not enough damage to the walls. After the wipe, the WAR - who was in alliance B with me - said they didn't go into the stomach because they were MT.

Oh I had this one run in Praetorium. I que'd as a SCH. I was paired with a whm. We have 4 dragoons, a new tank, and a returner tank.
It was weird. The dragoons weren't bad, except getting cleaved by the first boss quite a lot. But none of them died.
The whm, however, died on thrash pulls, on areas where we sprint and sacrifice a tank or both.
Anyways, put it this way. WHM used Stone the entire run. No medica, no heal. No Holy.
Just Stone, stone, stone, dead, stone, dead, stone....
Needless to say, after my 4th time raising her, I left her dead.
She got mad at me, in which she accused me of DPSing only. Not gonna lie, I threw in my dots, but thats only when I dont have to heal the tank or the DPS. I told her if she wants to DPS, at least keep herself alive. :rolleyes: -

Yesterday I decided to get more spells on an alt for BLU, and got into a PF setup looking for help getting primal spells since I needed some of them.
Woo boy I didn't realize this would end up being a hell of a farming run for all of the blus involved and those that stayed after. I had an amazing time.
First we got several primal spells, well, all those trials I had unlocked on my alt, then once the party broke down some we ended up taking those that remained to Ahm Areng and got those that weren't 70 blu to 70. A couple that ended up remaining I took to get some of their 60 and 70 spells, and then one remained and my fc mate and I took them to get more of their dungeon spells they needed until they themselves were being summoned to be their fc's pocket healer.
We started the train at 4 pm, we went on till almost 1 am. Congrats to those BLUs that got their spells and got to 70! -

I joined a garuda ex spell farm where the leader insisted on level syncing it to guarantee the spell dropping for the party. Well, this only works if everyone knows the mechanics and plans ahead.
The party I was in did not exactly plan ahead. None of the healer blus had raise, including me (because I'm still fumbling at some of the masked carnival stuff), and only one was able to tank properly. Needless to say after about 7 wipes I suggested to unsync it. Naturally this got flak from the pt lead, but others were in agreement because we were tired of wiping.
We all pull out, leader puts us back in unsynced, and bam, everyone got the spell. Pt lead was rather flabbergasted, but when the party is continuously wiping because of everything hitting the fan over 1 spell, you're better off getting the fight done quick and having a lower chance of it dropping over that sort of sh*tshow. -

- As the Paladin Tank, the only one left fighting the final boss of Amaurot, Therion, with everyone else died.
- Managed to survive for a long time all by myself, surviving *two* direct shots of Apokalypsis with Hallowed Ground and Clemency, because the safe platforms are all already destroyed.
- Actually managed to win the fight.
Only to not receive a single comm in the end.
