Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

Personally I'd rather female Hrothgar be given the same treatment the Charr (and Ronso) are given. Both male and female Charr are bestial in appearance. The last thing I want to see is female Hrothgar end up being a female Miqo'te, but as tall as a female Roegadyn.

That would be a very bad step from their side... I can imagine the outrage about "Ork looking races in Korean MMO meme".
And well, the only race that has serious dimorphism is Au Ra (yet it's about their height, not about actual racial features) so I don't think they will do like this with Hroths. Hroths seems to be inspired by Ronsos, though they are not the same, so I can imagine a very decent beastful females. Not to mention that Helion tribe is matriarchal (at least according to description from prom site).

I would LOVE to see them. If they were able to make female hrotgar look beefy and bestial, like the charr, I might even consider ,makign at least 1 alt for them.
Also It would be a lot les work if they don't change that much from male hrotgar and it would allow them to have to spend less resources on it, or maybe even less time, while still giving an amazing race as a finished product.
That is so they can release them as soon as possible, not so they can spend more time on male viera as some are suggeting

I don't want to keep reiterating this, but it's still a huge undertaking both time-wise and resource-wise regardless of if there isn't much difference. There is a significant amount of work that goes into making playable races. Again, male Hrothgar was barely ready in time.
Quick edit: I do want people to get female Hrothgar and male Viera, but I don't want misinformation being spread around and I want people to understand developing races is one of the hardest things to do when making a game, especially a MMO. It's a very stressful and intensive process, and I also want people to understand that the devs are already working as hard as they can because they're in the crunch period where they are basically not leaving the office, not sleeping, and not even getting to see their family if they have one. There's a reason why that trope in Japan where you're considered a hard worker if you fall asleep at your work desk exists.

1153 likes on OP, 73 pages and 37,224 views for female Hrothgar
1648 likes on OP, 389 pages and 261,754 views for male Viera

differences
495 likes on OP, 316 pages and 224,530 views

So why the difference it could be down to the threads having different start dates and female Hrothgar may have lost a chunk of support from the initial outcry from the announcement. People are going into male Viera thread purposely to start something far far more often this absolutely attributes to the bloat of the thread and where there is drama there are people who just watch it so whenever there was a new post the watchers are probably going in to see if it would start drama.

Saying people are sexist Gula for being involved more with one thread than another is horrible as bad as those calling the devs sexist. People will be more involved with something they want and if they want 2 or more things then they will focus on the thing they want most.

Another difference I wouldn't want to show the devs the male Viera thread beyond the OP whereas it is much further for female Hrothgar this thread is alot more civil and what the male Viera thread should be. But it seems any aggression towards people wanting the genders are being directed at male Viera but it does not diminish this thread's accomplishment of being the 2nd most liked OP this forum has seen.

My sincere hope is we get both female Hrothgar and male Viera and they are appropriate to their respective gender available

I am not undermining any requests, I am simply pointing out that male Viera, are in fact, more popular than female Hrothgar. There was a very extensive poll held here recently that asked a ton of questions regarding the two - I will edit it into this post if I find it again - and male Viera proved more popular than female Hrothgar.

Yet you say I'm wrong for applying the same logic to Roebros? Because in your mind huge races aren't popular?

Also, you assume everyone is in love with what we already have. What if you only play cat bois cause they are legit the only furry male option you have in this game? What if you play scaley boi because they're the most beastly option in this game? What if you'd be happy to play as a big race but don't like Roebro's body shape soo you stick to human? These are the types of people I see most often saying they're gonna convert to Hrothgar.

You seem to think Viera will be popular but there ARE people who doubt that because they're tall and ... well ... the 2 least played female races in this game are tall. Guess we'll see about that to.

1- You use this forum as the be-all-end-all of this topic. Have you searched the JPN side of this forum? Have you searched Reddit and other popular hang outs for game discussion? No? Cause I have. I came across the same desire for it over and over. If people weren't asking for Viera they were asking for beast like races. And yes, I said Beast like races. Be it the Wolf men or Burmecian or Ronso, people asked for something Beast like. I'd assume thats why we apparently have a wolf face option to go with the Lion face/ Ronso face/ Jaguar face, to cover more ground and cast a wider net.

I mean hell, I've legit seen forums post polls that ask "which would you want more, Hrothgar MALES or Viera MALES?" and I'm sure you as a Viera male fanatic wouldn't agree with the results.


2- Even using your own bias to these forums, Race wanting was not always the biggest hot topic on these forums. That means that many times people would make threads about them because the last known thread was dead/ old af. Meaning that there's tons of threads that are small and die out ... the Viera thread died many times actually. Even more so when asking about beast like features, people were shouted down by others like myself and were made to feel like it was a pipe dream. Have you added up all those threads over the years asking for basically anything other than Viera? Where are da receipts?

I'm sure most of the views come from people who want to watch a train wreck. The number of "likes" on the first post is what matters. Although this thread is a little behind in likes, it's still the second most liked post on the official forums as far as I know. I do admit male viera is probably more popular.

For sure, a lot of those views definitely came from the initial knee-jerk reaction. There is definitely no denying it. I just think there is a bias because if you look at the spreadsheet I posted in my last post, if you go to the "Shadowbringers Purchase Affected In Depth" and "Subscription Affected In Depth" tabs you can see that a huge amount of people that said they canceled their sub/no longer plan on buying SHB said that it was due to no male Viera, specifically. Granted, the highest % is people saying that it's due to no female Hrothgar and male Viera both, but ~44% say that it's due to neither being in the game, ~34% say it's due to no male Viera, and ~2% say it's due to no female Hrothgar.
