I didn't even know it was possible at that level until that random sage showed me. I mean, you've got other skills that help recover mp if you use them, including Lucid. There's no reason for a sage to be that drained on mp unless they're spamming something non-stop.

Like their rotation consisted of: Eukrasian Diagnosis > Diagnosis x9 > Eukrasian Dosis x3 > Dosis x4 > Diagnosis x13 for the first normal pull. I've honestly no idea why people think spamming the single weakest heal will do the job in higher-level content when you've got a good amount of other ogcds that can actually help out so you don't have to spam and actually make things so much smoother for the party.

Yesterday on my one alt I ran them through all of CT. Watched almost all of the Cutscenes. Not one wait at all and I wasn't even the sole new person in these runs. Anyway my main what the heck was during WoD where I was the only person out of 11 who used their dots. I still didn't get a response from the guy in my group who said they never died on the 1st boss as to what got them killed this time. I'm surprised we didn't wipe as neither of the other tanks picked up the adds and I think they exploded on a good chunk of the group on top of doom. My tank who had ran it 8 times stated that they had never ever looked at their bar. Or that that mechanic was ever a factor. It became a factor late in the fight due to the MT at the time had it positioned so that most of one color filled the room up. There was even a bit of time one of the bosses were using a few DPS as punching bags cause the MT died and the other two tanks didn't have their stances on.

I was surprised upon logging in after taking the first year of Endwalker off, I had story, raids and 24 man content to catch up on. Each instance, without saying anything, someone would chime in the chat to wait for people to finish watching their cutscenes before pulling. And wait they did!

I always intended on watching the scenes regardless if they waited for me or not but them waiting of their own volition made me feel good inside. My cold, dark heart thawed a bit each time. :)

In CT yeah everyone zergs...but any of the later raids I've not had one moment where people pull without making sure no had cutscenes to watch. Most the time it's just one and they are like "go ahead I'll catch up".

It's not cute to /yoldance at the boss because the SMN pulled before you did. It's annoying, and it's reportable.

I wait for the day they bring mob hp in the entirety of CT up-to-par so people are forced to do mechanics.

Until then, my group decided to try the first Criterion dungeon blind. I wanted to watch a guide but they insisted we do it blind first. Tether mechanic's become our hard wall because people aren't paying attention as to where it actually rotates.

36 wipes and 2 near-timeouts later, we had to call it a night.

To the random sch I had earlier in Ultima normal, there's no reason to be just standing there afking and picking your nose while poor Eos does the job for you in a 50 duty and caused a wipe. The Nymeian Marines called. They want their SCH soulstone back from you.

I'm just saying, if you're in a pre-made with a handful of randoms, please respect the randoms. You can run around trying to kill each other with mechanics when you're in your own full groups, but don't drag randoms into it.

Had an alliance raid where 5 members of the group were a pre-made. Noticed some things like them telling each other to get on VC and what not, but they weren't too chatty. Midway through the run the tank is starts running into the alliance, the whole alliance trying to hit his pre-mades with the TBs for laughs. The pre-mades are trying to drag the stack marker on top of other party stack markers, they're trying to stack their spread markers on each others, the healers are rescue yoinking.

I get it, over half of you are pre-made but 3 of us are not, and 2 parties of the alliance are not. Can you please, just not?

When the healer dies on Nero, I fat finger my keys and take a bit more damage than I should (Machinist) then I realize the healer is down so I pop a pot. Then I take unavoidable damage and pop my self heal. Then I get the stack marker. I just know I am going to die and everything is on Cooldown. Sucks to be me sometimes. :(

Kind of wish the Raid "Roulette" actually put you in different raids instead of just Fist of the Father so the 11AM father-fisting police can't whine about you not pressing buttons for the 101st time in a duty you didn't queue manually through the DF for because it shouldn't be farmed that way and doesn't give credit towards the tank achievements or any Second Chance points most of the time.

You could take the penalty if you don’t want to play. Or you could play for the 5 minutes that duty takes.

That 5 minutes doing the same exact duty dozens of times adds up quite a bit. I did eventually leave once or twice after it got boring.

At least that roulette is only now overthrown by a very limited amount of instances during the moogle event and not always. *cough* Allianceraid *cough*

Did you not press any buttons? Wow it's already 2025. Wish people could get it in their skull that the others are mostly humans. They don't want to waste their time.

Tank achievements??? How does it not count? If there are instances in a ROULETTE that you don't want because they don't have the thing you do it for than why are you queing for said ROULETTE???

Second Chance points from roulettes? Better farm them from MSQ trials directly or Dungeons that most do only once (no MSQ preferably).

Because it's called Duty Roulette: Normal Raids, not Duty Roulette: Alexander - The Fist of the Father. Alas, only Stormblood content and beyond counts towards the tank achievements. Fortunately, that's about 75% of the raids in the roulette, and queueing for that is better than queueing for 5 specific raids. You'd think even during the Moogle event, the game wouldn't deliberately shoehorn you into 1 out of 44 possible raids.

I do normally use Trial roulette for SC points, but again, normal trials don't count towards the achievements, so it helps to take out two birds with one stone. Trials are also a lot easier/boring (I never want to see Thordan's ridiculously undertuned ass ever again), and dungeons are nowhere near as efficient for either the points or the achievements.

This was already discussed with the Mentor roulette. People claim to know how the matchmaking algorithm works not only without any concrete evidence, but practically contrary to how it appears to work. If it were to prioritize duties that "needed people", it would obviously choose other raids, not the one almost everyone is deliberately farming. Keep in mind that these people are manually queueing for it, not selecting the roulette, unless the roulette itself is a fraud and actually is throwing everyone into this one specific raid for the lulz.

This comparison doesn't work when other alliance raids appear far more often than the other normal raids have, even with 4x the duties. Even the other Alexander raids aren't appearing, despite still giving the tomestones and taking the same amount of time for the most part.

3 people try to get into 1 dungeon. You select the roulette. You get added to them. Not that hard to predict. When many run X and you run a roulette with X you get put into those more often. Are you really not understanding that? What is the roulette suppossed to do? Wait at least 5 minutes?

How do you know this is what's happening? Where is your proof? How do you define a duty that "needs people"?

So do you get that it was an example or not? SE doesn't want a new player to have to wait 30 minutes or so for a MSQ dungeon. Looks terrible. So, roulette players can fill in.

Still a roulette even when it's not normal distribution. So when i want some tomes late at night after finally getting off work with all my friends offline and PF being empty i should make a PF that won't fill instead of queuing for the first bunch of Alexanders like i did a few days ago? "Clogging" the roulette? This is your point of view. What are the legit ones? Who is not clogging it up? If you don't even want to push a button in a duty than maybe you are clogging it up. Or everyone can just do the content.

When did i "compare the rates" of 2 roulettes? I said that alliance roulette is already CT roulette. That wasn't talking about rates. You seem to have the impression that the game rolls a random number for everyone queuing in a roulette and gives that instance. How INCREDIBLY stupid would that be. Sry you have to wait because rng decided all 90 players waiting for leveling roulette get a different one!

And about your last line. About Alexander. Well that's how players optimize the sh*t out of the grindfest events. Like they always had! When Aurum Vale was the fastest method for tomes people spammed that. Not as much in the roulettes because a lot did it with blue mages.

So it has to be 2 DPS and exactly 20 minutes? This is the numerical formula the game uses? And what does this example have to do with the Raid roulette? This logic is faulty.

You brought up the Alliance Raid roulette in comparison to the Normal Raid roulette. You presumably called it "CT roulette" as a tongue-in-cheek way of referring to the high rate of CT duties popping up. You somehow incorrectly assumed I was under the impression that Alliance/Normal raids share a roulette. Take a step back and read things a bit more carefully before posting.

There’s some crying going on so it’s appropriate in this thread.

Sure, we're getting Alexander: Fist of the Father a lot more than normal in Raid Roulette. But we're also getting Nier content in Alliance Raid roulette a lot more, too! I call that an overall win!

(Okay, so I still get Crystal Tower an awful lot too but not as much as usual, I'll take what I can get)

I have an alt, who does not have this crap unlocked, when I want to play Normal Raids peacefully, I just log into this alt and queue Normal.
On main I dont play Normals at all, reward does not worth another boring 60 level raid run.

Roulettes have a clear give and take system. You contribute to helping others finish duties, and in return you get a small amount of gil, tomes, and experience. If you want to enjoy content that you 100% know will be enjoyable to you, then you should queue into it specifically instead of dodging roulettes.

This isn't just a part of the game. Communities online and irl all over the world have to deal with this. Sometimes we have to do things that aren't fun/enjoyable to help others, knowing that we'll receive the benefits from helping them later.

Every now and then I run some Expert or Lapis to get some good desynth stuff, materia and tomestones.

The only thing is that some of the others seem to have their own mindset of entitlement... or sheer stupidity.

Sometimes I'll play paladin and rush on through, mentioning to the melee DPS that I'll cover them when Albion uses his roar, but even when cover is on them, the have already ran behind an ice pile before he jumps to start his roar. Bloody cowards!

Sometimes I'll play healer and the tonk does only single pulls even though I mentioned I can heal wall to wall no problem.

Sometimes I'll play a melee DPS and run ahead to pop arm's length and have the defenses active to get some gauge, heals or mitigate some damage and group up the enemies for the tank. It's like an extra healthbar helping you debuff enemies and group them up to make it easy. But then the tank stands there and waits for me to die because they follow the asinine rule of "You pull, you tank".

Then there are the healers that pretty much refuse to use DPS spells or DoTs as I can see them standing still, not casting anything but the basic cure from time to time. Like my god, you are here at lvl 90, most of your classes are above 70 and here you are not casting DPS and making it take longer?! How did you make it to 90 and not learn how to be a little ballsy or know how to DPS?!

But the one thing that just irks the shit outta me any time I run dungeons...
They never use Sprint...
We're all at the next group, but the tank is having a leisurely jaunt and at times doing an RP walk.

It's these reasons why I pretty much mainly play tank, so I can dictate the pace and keep my own ass alive. And if the healer is pure healing without doing DPS, I mention that they can do DPS too, I'm not going to suddenly die because you didn't use cure 1 on that 1% damage I took. And if they continue to purely heal, I just sigh and stop caring.
I try to help the scared and cowardly healers to get some confidence in that tanks can heal themselves too (Except dark knights RIP).

I am not complaining, I just dont queue Normal/Allaince/MSQ at all, I can live without these rewards. And I never leave duty if something goes wrong, like wipes, slow tank, new players and etc.

I dunno, maybe also Devs gonna make most popular duties (60 level normals and 50 level alliance) more fun to play? Why it had to be my problem?

Or deal with low item level abuse, when people remove gear in order to cheese into 50/60 level allaince/normal.

And its totaly fine, that some people get upset, when they cant get 2 rewards at once: good duty + roulette reward. This is a game after all.

Btw, some people even stop to logging in and pay the sub, when they decide, that game is not fun for them.

Just ran a Sunken Temple of Quarn, had a RDM as one of the dps, saw them hard casting veraero and verthunder. So I said "Jolt then ver spell will increase your dps" to which they answered "But it not always giving me verstone/fire", yes they were fishing for procs /groan. Responded with "That's cause there procs, you don't get them everytime =P".

To their credit, did seem to take the advice, hopefully, maybe it also inspired them to look up a rotation.

Had a trial with two Asts who I thought were together, but after looking at the contacts list they were from different servers. Course they could have been cross server friends. Anyway the only healing they gave out was Earthly Star and Aspected Helios. The boss gets pulled and the tank dies due to being a GNB who has crap self sustain. The PLD would have died as well if this trial had been too low for clemency. They did die twice but I don't remember if there was anything else than you know the lack of healing. I get some healers focusing on dpsing but when people die and don't even get an essential dignity and have to hope they survive the incoming raid wide right after raising I'd like to assume most would think that's taking it too far.

To the drk I had earlier on my alt blm in Tam-Tara:

Please, for the love of god, turn on your tank stance and use your aoe to grab and hold hate. The healer died twice, the rouge died twice, and I almost died twice because you decided to single-target and just focus on one at a time.

Please please please please PLEASE read your tooltips.
