Its the intent that matters. If you explicitly tell someone "We will let you die and not rez you" and then follow through with that then that is malicious intent, regardless of if they are in your group/party/alliance/discord whatever. That is the main point. There is a very clear malicious intent there and it seems like all the hardcore andys forgot that little nuance. And as far as I am concerned that is a clear violation against the ToS, but I know the discord apologists won't agree with that and that is fine.

But yeah lets keep saying "uuuh theyre not in my group so they can get shafted", that will surely help mend the rift that is widening between the playerbase by the day and will surely drive people in droves to the very welcoming discords (that told them to get shafted and called them antisocial jerks and leeches). And I am sure the GMs will happily agree with you considering the LL. But that still won't stop the people you have griefed from reporting you :)

Literally the only example this thread has of “malicious intent” is a group warning them in advance because people not understanding the content is a legit danger to everyone else because of the way forked tower’s mechanics work

It is not malicious intent to not raise when you have warned of it because of the danger of mechanics being targeted on people who don’t understand the mechanics and can kill others

And I still don’t get why people on here want to continue to attribute the so called widening of the Gulf in the playerbase to anyone besides square. It’s not evil exclusivity of the mean hardcore to be realistic about the way the content works. Tell square their content design is awful

I die a little more inside when I see someone mindlessly pop the Mega Landmine on the bridge either through sheer carelessness or not thinking through the consequences… by extension it infuriates me when people run ahead of the Thieves and think they know better (unless you are a Tank using invuln and explicitly tell the group so they stay back) essentially when it comes to Hallways, Bridges and Lockwards you are blind and only the Thieves can “see” so it boggles my mind when people run ahead of them…

I still remember where I died to a Mega Landmine through a wall in the Lockward corridor after you open the vault, it was funny at the time because it was recoverable but silly things like that can cause wipes in many cases…

Classic example of FT design not allowing any kind of deviance on Phantom Job choice if you want to remain safe. Phantom Monks kit is FT unfriendly a majority of the time due to team mechanics or traps.

FT having an obsession with instant kills is what breaks it for me, I think. Like you just finish a boss with a bunch of instant kill mechanics for boss 1. Next you get to some dungeon exploring between Boss 1 and 2 with some trap management, mobs and dealing with THOSE instant kill aoes they have. They can be mitigated with Time Mages and stuns with a huge grace period for them to do their job. Easy! Fun! Good little break between bosses.

Then you finish Boss 2 and all of its instant death mechanics and their dungeon run busts your balls for even attempting it. The grace period on managing a singular add, let alone 6, is small and if it's messed up its a raid wide that instant kills instead of deals damage. Why does it have to instant kill? For those who don't know the bridge is TRAPPED and is also steadily getting set on FIRE. So you're adding no chance of a raise, fire dots if it catches up to you which makes people panic (the damage is low it doesn't matter), instakill traps so rushing is a death sentence and then mobs that if one person makes a mistake kills you all.

This is frankly surprising. At the very least CLL & DRn allows the raid to raise at the instance’s entrance rather than dumping them back to the basecamp.

Truly, FTB is a shining “we don’t know our playerbase”-beacon, guess all that talks of listening to feedbacks are indeed colorful auroral mirages lol.

To be fair neither does BA or DRS

Either you get sacced/raised on the spot or you return to hydatos/gangos

And the reason that you can’t do the Chemist rez trick on the bridge is because even if you get a Chemist up and reset the encounter all of the adds and barriers between each section respawn so if you died on the second section or later you are unfortunately out of luck…

Because that's just how challenging large scale content in MMOs works. It isn't about being "elite". It's about organising a large group.

Not disagreeing with you there but you have to concede that this entire thread isn't a good look for the "hardcore" side when they start calling fellow players and randoms "antisocial jerks" "leeches" "toxic" and "snipers" (and then they wonder why there is so much hostility and negativity towards such groups...)

I (and I think a lot of other fellow casuals) are livid at SE both for designing FT the way it is and admitting they decided to push out the harder version due to budget/time constraints instead of making a more accessible version. Of course we blame SE. But we also blame all the people who tell us "lol this content is braindead easy just get better and join a discord" and encourage hostility towards randoms because that is not helping either side.

I think both sides need to cool their jets. The amount of hostility and frankly encouraged harassment towards regular players joining a pre-made discord run which in turn only leads to more animosity towards "raiders" is not helping anyone and it seems there are a few people in this thread who just get their kicks from being able to harass other players without any real repercussions (from both sides).

Both sides should have come together and boycott this piece of garbage design.

I mean the casual side is also calling the hardcore side cattle, toxic, elitists and trash

Nobody wants this type of design but neither “side” is looking good here, the hardcore side understands that this needs communication but comes off as exclusive. The casual side wants the content to work in a way it simply doesn’t and comes off as selfish

The problem is squares content design, not either “side”
