Still no official word, this is the real kick in the teeth for us.
Pretty much. I get accused of RMT (in game all the time, looking at you Y***) because i was the first on my server to be able to make 4 types of relics. The price is set at what people are willing to tolerate to buy. Basic supply and demand mixed in with a bit of other theories. T2 crafting prices are still fairly high because people tolerate the prices. Mats costs 500k+ (While coke just shot up to 80k each the other day) on my server, we generally craft it for 50-100k depending on the "make up" of the mats and if they are in their final form or raw form. (apparently there are crafters who still getting able to charge 200k crafting fees) More work = more cost, More hq = less cost. At least how i do it. Not to mention these are basically the end game items. When they are no longer end game, the price will drop tons. Same in real life. Lastest model car = expensive. Once a new model comes out, price drops. If you want me to guarentee you an "HQ insurance" you will have to pay more else i only promise a 99% HQ chance minus anything that happens that is out of my control. (Server DCing and etc). Insurance puts all the risk on me, so if you want me to take all the risk you pay a little extra for your own state of mind.
Prices are tolerated because the demand and constant volume being moved everyday is high. We have abs. NO control over where the money comes from when we sell on the marketboard. I like to do my trades in persons because we both save some gil when we don't need to pay the marketboard taxes, i can establish relationships and often get repeat comissions for crafts. Most my work is random crafting and melding, i70 is just an icing on the cake since most people can't even afford the material costs in the first place, let alone ask me to craft it. My hands are tied when it comes to crafting the item, since the material costs are high. The food costs are already around 5-10k for 30 minutes - 60 minutes. Crafting i70 items for free is a waste of my time and high opportunity cost, not to mention you get put on the hate list of all other i70 crafters. And people don't tip enough in i70 crafting to make it worth your time to craft for free. Last time i did one for free i was tipped 2k. Yeah i lost gil. So unless there is a set tipping etiquette, you won't see crafters making these for free any time soon.
You should know that only other crafters and Gil Buyers would pay that price.
The problem is that demand for HQ i70 items mainly comes from gil buyers or people who have benefited from gil buyers: like crafters who got rich through gil buyers.
The material prices are high, because gil buyers are either directly or indirectly creating a high demand for the crafted versions.
If either gil buyers dissappear or people refuse to sell to gil buyers, the prices for materials will fall. However, the "refuse to sell to gil buyer" is very difficult to maintain, so yeah SquareEnix needs to do something and I am hoping this method they are doing now is fruitful.
Come on guys, think about it. After all the effort and money SE put into re-making this game, do you think they would make something so dumb as to ban whoever hits 8 million gil? SE loves money and reputation. Why would they ban paying subscribers for retarded reasons like a gil cap?
The problem is we DO NOT know what those players are suspended or banned for. I can guarantee that 100% of them will swear innocence, because everyone knows SE will never release information about individual players' activities. The STF has would likely have looked through activity and chat logs before takng action. That's what they are there for.
The STF have all the logs and information on the players, we don't. All we have is the players' side of the story, and they have absolutely no reason to reveal any RMT or botting activity the may have done. The chances of mistakenly banning players would be extremely small, which is why they oftten suspend first and re-investigate before deciding to permaban.
I doubt it is to do with large amounts of gil. Instead of buying Darklight gear I could've made 1m+. 1m is not really anything atm. They are probably linking accounts that have traded with RMT. If thats the case, you could have traded with someone who had bought gil, and not do anything wrong but get linked into it. Which I'm sure the high end crafters touch a lot of "Dirty" gil
I took the time to read all 26 pages of this thread thus far. Jacotto its either your world has no other 2-star capable crafter besides you for you to make 10+mill simply through commissions because on Cactuar, although I can HQ 2-stars, I'm just dime in a dozen of 2-star crafters. Its around 500k worth of materials for a 900k craft, so a net profit of 400k. You claim you made 10+mill from crafting 2-stars, you would've had to have well over 100 customers who all had millions of Gil. My point is, in a game this big, for you to secure 100+ of the richest people your world, seems a little far fetched.
Forum restrictions based on character level.
Support ticket restrictions to 40 characters.
No banning of legitimate RMT spammers in town, despite the same ones being there for over a week.
No banning of botted mining characters despite being at the same spot for 2 weeks and clearly teleporting between nodes.
No banning of botted hunting characters who are farming Diremite webs, various skins, and wool, despite those same bots being there for a week or more.
I've seen F2P companies care more about their non-paying user-base and game economy. I don't know who they have handling things on the US/EU end of things, but they clearly are not concerned with people wanting to renew their accounts. I personally already cancelled my own account renewal simply because of how pathetic the service has been. Game is fun, but the company behind it doesn't seem to care enough to solve the real problems facing it... Which is surprising and insulting based on how this isn't Square's first MMO, and previously you heard about how good they were... I guess all their concern for customers was spent on fixing Ver 1.0.
Not at all. Who makes crafting component ? It's DoW with tomestones. They set the price of component and this regulate the price of the HQ Gear created from it.
If HQ Gear are high priced, it is because component are sold for a high price so DoW should make a decent amount of money.
the outcry "I was banned for having to much Gil" is BULL and you all know it. There is more to the story. SE isn't going to ban people without cause AND they have given their cause via their e-mail they sent you all. You guys can sit there all day long while saying "I made this legit". PROVE you did? You can't.. SE can.. And they will. If you get your account back then your clear. SE would prob comp the 72 hour lost time if you are legit. Who knows may e SE is banning all the gatherer bots! Wouldn't that be a hoot! If your cheating I hope you burn...if your not and was banned - sorry, but it will work out in the end if your really not.

I expect an apology once my account is un suspended. I can't speak for others but I made my millions through crafting. Selling low level items to level 50 base items, reinvesting that money into 1 star items, then reinvesting that money into 2 star items. Which is probably the case for every other high end crafter. I knew 20+ other 2 Star crafter on Behemoth and would love to know how many are actually not suspended at the moment.
This blanket ban is crap. I paid for the game and I'm paying for a service. This service is not being provided. In the meantime Miner bots and gil spammers are STILL rampart in the game.

Just liek that person right? Sorry no one gets banned for nothing. We have multi millionaires in FC but they never got suspended.
You are talking out your butt!!! You obviously have NO IDEA WTF YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!
Tons of people, myself included, Are Millionaires through legit means. I'm legacy, I made MILLIONS in 1.0 & so did many other's. So don't go spouting that BS. Just because you can't make millions doesn't mean other people haven't figured out how.
Half of my FC was banned in this blanket ban, all of their money was made legit. We were the first group on our server to be able to make just about anything and had little need to spend money as we had a set of gatherers providing everything for everyone. When you don't spend money, all you do is make it and it comes flying in. (not to mention a week and a half of selling relic weapons at 150k+)
i know people with over 15m gil and not getting suspended. So there's something else at play here. And most of the people I know with that much gil sell titan runs to make that kinda bank.
Hah, could care less what you think.
It's been said a million times this is on non-legacy, not legacy. You are on legacy.
Not one person has come forth on this thread that has over 10 million gil on a NON-LEGACY SERVER and stated they have not been suspended. How many people does it take for you to understand that this was a XXX amount of gil target = suspension until we figure out what to deal with RMT. I guess the over hundred+ people that have replied to this thread and the reddit thread are all gil buyers / gil sellers even though their is no reason for us to buy any gil since we already made plenty from being the first high level crafters / gatherers.
Not sure why I am even bothering, when I am un-banned from my temporary suspension just like everyone else that was not RMT, it will be hilarious how wrong you one sentence wonder's were/are and how far you will go to white knight Square Enix when it is obvious that they went too far.
I love final fantasy and square enix (for the most part) and will continue to love them after this, it doesn't mean that just because I support them I have to support every action that they do.
If they do something wrong, I'm going to call them out on it. Banning hundreds of legit players because they could not take an extra hour to make their database search a bit more complex than " > XXX Gil = Suspend" is something that definitely should not have been done. If you seriously think that's not what happened here, go read the thread some more, then try to get some common sense.
Edit: To anyone who is still under the impression that me and all of the others are not going to get un-banned, plenty of us have already called customer support and were given information that this is a temporary 72 hour blanket suspension, and that anyone not involved in RMT will be un-banned most likely sometime Monday/Tuesday.
See ya then, when me and all of the others can smirk at all of you who are forgoing reason and instantly turning too "OMG YOU WERE BANNED, MUST BE CHEATER SQUARE ENIX NEBER BAN SOMEONE WHO DOESNT DESERVE IT". Get a clue.
(Taggerung5) these are just general comments not pointed towards you, sorry if it seems that way. Just too many people that post before they even care to do 1 minute of research into the subject, voicing their own opinion and not bothering to look any further.
I've farmed about 15 stacks of mats with just gathering, I can sell the RQ stacks for 10k while selling the HQ for 25k, I made 200k within an hour or two of just incredibly tedious grinding. If I continued I could easily have a few million.
I had 7 mill on non legacy at the time (7.5 now) and am not banned. However since the supposed amount for the ban is either 8 or 10M, guess that does not help much.
Well I have almost 500k gil myself basically went from 50k to 500k in a few hours because the quicktongue III Materia was selling for around 80-140k each so they were an easy source of money. With that being said I know of two players with a little more then 8 Mil who has been banned while another with around 6 mil has not been. The two with 8 mil were among the first crafters on the server and the guy with 6 mil had actually 9 mil from the start while the crafters had around 3-4 mil because he sold every pet he could find on the market for 50k and they sold like butter at the start of the game hahaha.
Well I cant really say they are not involved with gil sellars but I mean I know for a fact that the crafters can get the materials for a cheaper price then market prices, and they can make some crafted gear for a few 100k gil and sell them for over a million. On the other hand the mining and botanist bots are just everywhere I go, gettin whispered non stop about gil selling, power lvling and items they also spam the shout chat in some areas constantly which has turned alot of people into not showing shout chat. Also a free company member had his account hacked and they took his character and stood in Limsa shouting about their site for about an hour then the guy logged on and found out all his gil and phil stones were gone. Which kinda sucks and at the same time you hear rumours about players who have been hacked that has gotten banned when they report it? whats with that?
Had to many words apearntly so had to post it in two parts
Just bloody great...... I bought a new FFXIV registration code to level a 2nd account(to use retainers) for Global market domination once my original is re enabled. Only to find that on Behemoth - character restrictions are in place.
ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...hh........
I have and it proves nothing, even if that 1 person did RMT, it does not mean the rest of us did.
My point is still valid.
From looking in the tech section, it seems you account was hacked by goldsellers, usually when people mention the have been hacked on a game forum, people automatically assume/say it's your fault for buying powerleveling/using RMT sites etc. I don't believe this is true for everyone with a hacked account and are willing to give people the benefit of the doubt.
So why when we claim to have been suspended wrongly (also blaming goldsellers) can you not do the same for us?
I'm sorry your account was hacked anyway.
The people that really annoy me the are not the sellers, but the buyers, if there was no demand there would be no supply.
The in game economy sucks. Plain and simple .. if SE didn't charge for Teleports or Gear repair.. I think you would see a more stable economy.
The very fact after level 50 there are no more quest that offer new Gil being generated into the game... only means the inevitable will happen.
Zero gil coming in after level 50 and on avg. 3000 gil a day dectucted by the Gil Sink in place which is teleports and repair cost.
How will this survive ? The avg. cost the NPC pays out for farmed items is 5 gil now.. im not math expert but....
say you FARM for 2 hours for whatever .. FISH, Market goods, Craft Supplies. The idea is to sell this crap to other players.. But that pool of money will eventually dry up and the Gil Sink will become more apparent. As players will start to HORDE money. SE needs to put that money which it makes off repair cost back into the REWARD system on FATES or Mob kills. Every little bit helps.
I can make around 10~15k a day off my daily levequest allowance alone at level 50....
Obviously that's speaking as a crafter, but it hardly nulls the point... I also don't pay anything close to 3k on repair costs... So, I'm generating plenty of Gil and then what? People who can't do the same (people who only leveled combat classes) start selling my items I need. The massive excess of Gil I'm generating is then passed on to them.
I wont say there isn't a Gil sink in this game, because I cannot know for certain, but I'm damn sure going to doubt there is such a problem given the above...
I just noticed that the gold spam prices has more than doubled, looks like whatever SE did is working.
If teleporting and repairing were free, inflation would run wild. This game has quite a few mechanics for generating gil but only a handful of ways to 'remove' it.
All leves and most quests generate new gil. Allagan pieces found in dungeon chests generate new gil. Every item dropped by a monster is new gil. All three disciples of land generate new gil. I'm probably missing a few but these are all ways that gil enters the economy.
The only ways, at least that I know of, which remove gil from the economy are teleports/chocobo porters, repairs, and taxed market transactions.
Malarkey. Banning someone because they have a mountain of gil.
There's more to it than that. I have made 2mil alone in just the last 48hours just trading back and forth in the AH. Just watch the market, you WILL get ideas on what can make you some money. See a high priced item that has low cost mats? Really...how hard is it to convert those raw goods into something useful. And there is nothing shady or dishonest about using a games built in market system. You would be shocked at the stupid low lvl things anyone can do to make gil in this game.
Ex: LVL 20 harvesting items that sell for 200-300gil per swing of the hatchet. Seriously, how hard is it to close your eyes and press X.
Move on up: The LVL 50 cooking recipes that are child's play gather mats for....yet go for 300k+ a stack.
All this poopoo jealousy over players with high end Gil stash's.
Guess what...I stuck it out when this game was 1.0 garbage, and EVERYONE across the internet clowned on me for playing the worst MMO ever.
Ill be sure to wave at you from my Airship.
I think you deserve a medal. You must be some kind of genius to figure out how to turn a large chunk of money into a slightly larger one. I mean, it's not like you STARTED with that large chunk while all the new players started with no gil and no 50 classes.
Oh wait...
Well at least this is the appropriate thread to stroke your own ego in while laughing at the plebeian masses who started at the beginning, not the finish line.
Oh wait...
Well at least this thread is about rich players from legacy servers.
...
They are targeting people who have traded with known RMT's.
THey are targeting people who are exploiting game functions and other players.
Even if some won't admit they were part of it.
There was a comment about selling runs and exploiting players by a GM. So wouldn't recommend it. Those that do t are just regular playing subscribers. Such tactics have been used by RMT as well and they don't want it in the game.
Lesson learned.
Who in their right minds would, on an official forum of all places, admit that they bought gil from RMT? Exactly.
If they really were banning people only based on the amount of gil, they'd have to ban most of the legacy players. I knew enough people who were at the gil cap. That's 999 999 999 999 gil, mind you.
