Isn't it exhausting to run two accounts on these forums just to have someone to agree with you?

good sir, Yuniko is their own person whom i have no influence or control over i've never met them ingame only here on these forums from what i can tell they seem like a grounded person an who is just tired of the system like so many others are.
if something i said resonated with how they feel they are allowed to express that they agree with me. it is not validation i seek as i said previously i am a court jester an i will mock those who show up only to discourage what this thread was posted about an those who are telling people its "the current way or no way at all" mentalities.
I would imagine it’s much the same across NA with the notable exception of Dynamis. All of them seem to have their own little designations now, if only just by popular assumption. When I started, Bryn was a bonus world because it was underpopulated! How things change in 6 years or so!
But I think it does go to show that even with DC travel now possible, people have built up real communities on these worlds and they want their in-game home to be on the world they’re actually going to spend most of their time on. Rather than transferring to a low population world that they will be spending more time away from their plot than on it.
what are you entitled to when it comes to housing as a feature? Are you entitled to a plot? Are you entitled to a small medium or large? Are you entitled to an apartment? I think you're entitled to housing as a feature. But does that mean you're entitled to a plot? No. I'm not saying you can't have anything. Im not stopping you from obtaining anything. If you wanna go for a plot I say go for it, best of luck. Where am I gatekeeping you?
Somewhat yeah. I mean if there are no plots available then you're just gonna have to get comfortable with an apartment until one becomes available. Don't worry, this was the apartment i spent from April 2016 until October 2017. I had to get comfortable, and I did. It was my own little spot to hangout

It's a forum. People are reading the comments and replying to them. It doesn't matter if you block me because i'm still sharing the information. You don't see my replies, but it doesn't stop the reply from getting out. It's not to bother you its a reply in general to the statement. Other people can read and reply to it if they chose.
I say players don't really want housing.Because the players who really want a plot they would've had one already. If the really seen it as a priority. People say they want a lot of things but their actions speak louder then their words ever could. And their actions as it stands to housing is saying a whole lot different to what you say the congregate playerbase wants. As housing it completely disconnected from the games other aspects. Anyone who is in the housing ward either accidently wandered in or is there by choice. But if most of the players choose not to be there and rather a hub with other players like in limsa. What you say the players want isn't matching up with the reality. What's going on.
So up in arms about all of this. "You joined the thread late" I didn't but go off.
Yesterday I lost out on my 3rd Medium Shirogane plot and ya know what? I got my gil back bought a glam and carried on with my day. I will bid again when another opens. Do I want this plot so badly? Yeah I do. Hence only bidding on Medium Shirogane plots despite the fact that it might take me months to actually get one. I have an apartment and an FC room too and actually have been stuck on their themes for a while. I do not miss the old system one bit. The amount of days and nights that I did all nighters to try and get a small plot, I've lost count. Now, I can place my bid, and carry on with my life. Could I get a small? Yes 100%, but I don't want a small and I'm okay with waiting until I get what I want. If I want to go decorate something in the meantime, I'll go mess around in my FC or apartment.
i dont get why we have a weekly lotto system , when we had the clicking system it was a daily option when a house was available. why cant they make a lotto system with the first day, it became available it becomes optional for bids and the next day for results. give it a 24 hour from when it come available. instead of waiting a week to find out you have lost.
and if player are concern that a daily option would hurt the next house they bid on after they have lost, why dont add a cooling off of 24hour to bid again , that would be 3day of trying your luck to win a house rather then waiting a week for bidding and a week for results, that 2 weeks
and add more ward for high population data services, because having over 100 bid on one plot is just a joke, waiting a week for 99+ player to be disappointed
Because the players who didn't have a lot of time to be on or login often or spends alot of time away from their game wanted to be accounted for. So S.E designed the lottery system the players themselves asked for and suggested many times.
So the lottery allows as many people as possible to part be able to partake in the system. Increase accessibility equals greater competition. Since everyone can partake in the system now rather then being lucky enough to find a open plot. So your chances are actually higher if you don't have a lot of time to play. But lower if you already have the time to find one in the wild
Players didn't like the idea of no lifers with more time to play than them scooping up plots. So the Playing field had to be leveled so Johnny with 15 minutes to play a week would also have his fair chance at a plot as well.
If you wanted a house by now , you could have already had one. You can call them lazy but if you really want to a plot you'd already have one yourself. The supply is there, but how badly do you actually want a plot? if you say you want one as bad as you do , you will have one in this period where there is so many smalls going unbid. This is the best time to find a plot. And if you decide to pass up the opportunity , the outcome is on you. Yes, you may have changed your mind and maybe willing to purchase a small now. But that initial refusal to compromise.. is what missed you some opportunities that you may or may not get again. Strike while the iron is hot.
If you don't feel like your subscription is getting value. The unsubscribed button is over there...
i totally understand this problem been going on for way too long . just giving a suggestions if SE ever reading the forums and how player views my suggestion .when it we had clicking system it hurt player hands, player had to player all day to win it and we hated it. and player couldn't spend that much time playing. but this lotto is way too long for results and bidder collection time. doing it on a daily base would give player motivation to get on each day to check want available, even if they only had 15min. it better then getting on only once a week. like it the gold saucer lotto
it not that iam trying to get a house , since i have one , i have been trying to up grade for a long time now from a small to a meduim ,i have been bidding on a meduim plot any where there is one available, it more that i only get like 3 bidding chance a month
Aug. 31 until Sept. 4: Results period
Sept. 4-9: Entry period
Sept. 9-13: Results period
Sept. 13-18: Entry period
Sept. 18-22: Results period
Sept. 22-27: Entry period
Sept. 27 until Oct. 1: Results period
Apologize, that was meant for Yuni.
What I mean is like the ten day lottery period so that as many players can bid as they possibly can. It's for players who don't have a lot of time to play or not a lot of time to log in.
Should we be slightly less accommodating for those players? I get that it does shorten up the lottery period but would the players who benefit from the 10 day period be upset by that change?
well shortening the time is not going to give them all the houses that would they been gather over the week, only the one that have gone through the demolished for that day. but it would allow player to get on each day for that 15min to be able to bid a house and if they lose the can try and bid on another has the next day if there was one that got demolished. but having less day well increase the bidder because there would be less houses to bid on. but you will have more chances of bidding each time a demolished every 2nd day.
but weekly system you might be going for a large and there 3 and you have to choose one , but if they daily system a demolition happen on a monday, thursday, sunday you would be able to roll on each one if you got for 15min to check. but doesnt mean your chances would be any better at winning, since it would still be a lotto and if other player checked each day you will still have to compete
and this is me throwing something out there and i dont plan to being it up again, it was just a thought if it might make it better. since we have spoken of instant housing for many years that have been shot down lots of time by SE, so why not give them another idea
oh so now you're saying players who don't play often should still get a house but then contradict yourself in earlier statements saying that people who don't play alot don't deserve a plot  sounds like to me you can't keep your narrative straight lol well done SoloWing you played yourself for all on this forum to see.
Your suggestion doesn’t create equal opportunity
It just tilts the scales toward people with the most free time, usually students or those who can afford to log in for hours every day, while leaving working adults at a permanent disadvantage.
That kind of design might have made sense back in the early 2000s when MMOs thrived on endless grind, but in today’s market it’s completely out of touch.
MMORPGs are already a genre on life support.
What keeps them alive isn’t hardcore time sinks, it’s the casual and working class audience who pay subscriptions, buy from the cash shop, and log in a few hours a week to relax.
Gen Z isn’t flocking to traditional PC MMORPGs anymore
They’re in mobile gacha ecosystems.
Square Enix knows this, and it’s exactly why FFXIV embraced the “theme park MMO” model: the game is built around accessibility and respecting players’ time, not demanding unhealthy levels of commitment.
If you turn housing lottery into a system that rewards whoever can no life the hardest, you’re not solving the problem and you’re punishing FFXIV’s actual core audience.
That doesn’t just fail to address fairness, it risks alienating the very players who are keeping the game alive.
If you arere only looking for voices you feel comfortable with, a public forum may not be the best place.
You might want to consider starting your own Discord or Twitch channel to attract the kind of audience you’re looking for.
Posting on a public forum is a double edged sword, you won’t always hear only what you want to hear.
Chance at a house =/= Getting a House.
Buying a lottery ticket does not mean you're gonna win the lottery. It just gives you a chance at winning it.
I'm not contradicting anything. I said they have a fair chance. Where did you get "assured" from?
maybe your right my voice is not welcome here , i was just leaving a suggestion walk into a ffxiv forum for something else???. i guess you have it all under control . good thing Gen Z isn’t flocking to traditional PC MMORPGs anymore. i will keep playing on PC and chatting on discord
im sorry.. i dont know what going on
His reply wasn't meant for you. It was for shadowy zero. And if you read through the thread. He's doing a lot of demonizing a lot of name calling and basically calling for people to be blocked that has different opinions than his own.
So his response was basically go to the channels that I'd like to create that echo chamber rather than come to a public forum and try to control a narrative. But try to moderate it like a private discord.Where any deny dissent can be talked down or shamed.
ok , i dont plan to get involved. i well just leave it with my first post on page 25
lets see, you say people are allowed to have different opinions but when you get called out then that person's opinion is then wrong. you're truly a hypocrite thru and thru SoloWing as is DivineMights your buddy.
both of you can't handle criticism against your precious "ward" system so result to coming to these housing threads only to harass, belittle, and to argue there is even a user here who has insisted you stop bothering them, an my suggestion by asking mods to close comments is to difuse this situation not create more like you keep doing lol cause again you just like starting arguements you do this in every thread that criticizes the current ingame housing
so then tell me are people allowed to have a different opinion? or are you just being two faced? you make these claims on me despite me point blank telling you i am trolling you for your stance and opinion lol
neither will you buddy but yet you get uppity and mad when we push back against you lol an i am allowed to post here anytime i want freely so long as i pay for my sub and don't antagonize Square Enix or its employees. or use excessive profanity. maybe take your own advice if you don't wanna handle being pushed back :)
Lmao, I’m starting to think the other guy might be right
It really does seem like the same person is behind multiple profiles, talking to themselves.
You're showing the same inability to read and understand points properly, just like that other account.
Ironically, you're the one creating an echo chamber your other thread only allows people who agree with you to comment.
That says a lot."
and yet people are still having a healthy discussion with eachother on my thread weather blocked or not wow shocker:rolleyes: and that includes SoloWing now who is throwing their two cents in which may lead to the same conclusion as here too but we'll see maybe they won't be as argumentative maybe they will i am not them so i can't really say :p but either way i will keep trolling an throwing shade at those who keep trying to make others believe this current housing system is "good" "its fine" while vilifying players asking for changes.
anyways so sorry to the people who have to keep seeing this thread blow up putting those two back on ignore for a spell so that hopefully we can get a period of rest.
It’s good to see honesty and not just outright denial about creating an echo chamber.
Being honest is a good sign.
That particular thread looks like for people who share the dream or illusion of what their ideal instance housing could be.
It’s a space for imagination.
People already knows that SE isn’t planning instance housing, why even bother entering the conversation?
IlSE’s current direction seems to be focused more on upgrading interiors, not building out full instanced housing systems.
Most people aren’t cruel enough to barge into a hopeful, imaginative discussion just to tear it down. There’s no harm in letting dreamers talk about what they wish could happen
lolol read the past few pages xD
What is going on?
Can't you three (Shadowhyur, Solomiqo, and Divinerabbit) at least agree that you want housing to be better than what it is?
The distribution of the houses is off wards are nice but they are mostly empty becaue people are more interested in player hubs like Balmung QS or Dia Limsa or Aether...
The lotto system is busted when there are like 30 other people bidding on the same spot and some of those being bids are from shell fcs withe people that have like 50x more gil than you do.. it's not at all fair.
These buzzword; "echo chamber" and "demonizing" lolol
we're dealing with MMO houses my guys be at peace it's not that serious what are we doing? xD
you are correct at the end of the day its just digital property at the end of the day, i'm like those two though i obtained a house easily thru my own time and merit i just want others to not have to go thru that experience an for all to own a plot of land with a house size they are happy with :) and i'm not so arrogant as to believe that others should just be happy with this system cause it supposedly won't get any better or what not i mean none of us really have a say in wether it will change or not thats up to the developers who are placed in charge of this piece of content and Yoshi-P
i'm just a concerned patron here voicing my concerns and grievances is all that it is.
My idea of improving the system is a top down approach. They want to improve apartment. The plots are going to have to be improved first. In my opinion the apartments are a starter home. If the players feel like apartments aren't good enough that's what they want because when you get a plot you're gonna be on this subscription for the foreseeable future. And given that this is a business and they're here to make money. It does benefit them.
They're not in the housing word because they prefer to be in a quick sands necessarily. Players are playing a social game for social interactions. Players don't walk in for the most part to go sit in their plot. We are social creatures.
I feel like the lottery's going to feel busted when there's thirty people bidding because your chances are around 3.33% of winning. At that point I would have abaned in that plot immediately and looked for something else with less competition. If you're willing to go bid with that much competition that is your prerogative but the outcome is on you.
Sing someone trying to create an echo chamber is not a buzzword. When you clearly see , they're trying to stop the discourse when something isn't keeping the narrative.
Basically, this guy says he's gonna troll.Anybody who he disagrees with and you honestly expect a civil discussion?
You know what? You're right it is a video game house. So I don't think they care if you don't feel content with your apartment. You want something bigger? Then you're gonna need to bid. And that's gonna keep your subscription active and when you finally win one? Your subscription is still gonna need to be active to keep it.
They know you're not quitting over housing anyway. If they say they did, then they're lying. The game was already on their last legs for them. It's a part of the symptoms but not the cause.
I want to make it clear that I had no intention of getting involved in any drama or "clown show."
My original post in this thread was simply an observation and one that's objectively true.
Even now, there are still multiple small plots available, which confirms the point I made.
Yet somehow, that post triggered certain individuals, as if I had personally attacked them.
I've said this before, and I’ll say it again: the Japanese gaming industry is significantly behind when it comes to multiplayer and online gaming technologies, especially when compared to Korean and Chinese developers.
Instead of engaging in discussion, some people immediately resorted to labeling me as a "gatekeeper," "white knight," and other dismissive terms.
Ironically, the upcoming FF14 mobile game developed by Tencent proves my point.
It features things like long hair physics, special mount animations, and likely more advanced tech
Fall things that the main FF14 (developed by Square Enix) still struggles with.
This isn’t to take shots at SE, but it highlights a real gap in capability and focus.
The core issue is that Japanese studios, including SE, have historically been too comfortable focusing on console experiences.
As a result, they're falling behind in areas like cross-platform multiplayer, animation quality, and overall technical ambition.
People need to accept that SE may not be able to deliver everything players want, not because they don’t care, but because they’re just not there yet, technologically.
