Wait so yoshi main race isnt a lalafell?
It's funny because prior to release they said it would have "several" phases and people were expecting we would get something like Hades EX to actually warrant the extra totems...then it ended up being a single phase fight that starts repeating mechanics around the 50% mark.
We literally didn’t get 89 dungeon gear this expansion, which has never happened any other expansion. We didn’t get our pvp set from wolf marks this expansion yet, we got the others in x.1.(the set in the new pvp rewards is the equivalent of a feast set afaik). We didn’t get a tataru glam in ShB and the one we got this expansion was a reused set. In SB samurai and rdm both got level 50/60/70 primal weapons. Dnc,Gnb,Sage, and Rpr still do not.
Unfortunately, if you fire everyone from housing there would be no one to develop the Ultimates. Yeah, you heard that right. The same team in charge of housing is in charge of Ultimate too. I was baffled when i heard that lol
I've largely tried to stay away from Ex and Savage, mainly because I don't really like the design philosophy around encounters. But that backstory aside. I got roped into this fight on Friday, prior to that I was actually freighted by how the overextended the emphasis was on the difficulty of the fight, but I was actually surprised to not only learn it hits weaker than normal mode, but the encounter itself felt like half a fight... That was probably my only disappointing moment of the patch, personally
Yes, I mentioned her mother first and when she tried to use it as ammo. You're trying to do the same thing but by proxy, because she thought stating she had an illness would suddenly make me feel like a lousy human being, not realising I probably think she is lying because she would be an evil child to use their mother's persistent disease to win an argument on something like an internet forum, talk about not respecting your mother's condition, you might give her some dignity in life if you at all cared about them. It's a really evil thing to do to use the infirm as a shield wouldn't you agree?
I really hope you're fucking kidding. I thought housing (ultimate) was a fucking meme! Jesus christ.
If there are any rng elements in the new ultimate this is gonna be the worst fight in the game. Every time a mechanic happens the boss might just cast 0 and kick everyone out of the instance. Jesus wept.
I am completely baffled by this knowledge. If they can't make a simple lottery, I'm surprised any of the fights can even be loaded at all.
Use as ammo. I didn't know stating a fact that makes your "run back to mom" childish joke moot is considered ammo. I don't care to make you feel like a bad human being. I don't know nor care about you. I just hate when people bring things up then deflect.
Keep my mother out of your mouth please and thank you
I just need the new ultimate to have a house placard you click on for 48hrs and then lose to a bot (and auto wipes the whole party at 1%). This way, we know it's working as intended when everyone reaches 0 and nobody ever completes the latest ultimate for several years irl. That's about as realistic of ultimate I could get, and probably enjoy because of all this shitstorm nam flashbacks I'll have to this day XD
Nothing special, the game has been overhyped for years, this is just going back to reality.
The game direction - mass producing hand-crafted content to continuously replace previous content - has always been a dangerous gamble. They can never really focus something, and it's only recently they started to look back a little.
The plot is all over the place, the cut-scene quality is awfully random, the battle system is shallow, boss fights have been reduced to one-shot gimmicks (creating the problem with "healing" being nearly inexistent), the "open-world" areas are useless, the quests are lazy, and a lot of other things (like the horrible chocobo races)
None of this is from individual incompetence from the designers or programmers ; they just can't do better because the updates schema makes it impossible to focus on quality.
That being said, today housing bug is probably unrelated to all of this, it's the kind of small bug that happen everywhere ; it just happened to hit at the wrong place.
If you didn't care then you wouldn't use something so personal as your mother's diminishing condition or is there some resentment there? I will happily keep your mother out of my mouth because her child doesn't respect her enough not to air her intimate details online. It's sad that I complete stranger might care more about your hypothetically infirm mother more than you do and you call others toxic. How can you ask for respect from others in this community when you don't even respect your own family?
If nothing else perhaps we should be thankful for the housing bug helping to force them to look at the feedback on here that is, seemingly, routinely ignored in favor of reddit and twitter.
The the forums are going wild and I have no idea why.
- What healer problems are you talking about? People have been complaining about healers since 2.0. I have lost track anymore.
- "Hrothgar problems", we all saw that incoming, they promised to fix, I know. But who will focus efforts on a race played by what? 1%? 3%?
- We warned people about housing ultimate, yet I'm surprised there is this many salty people.
Ultimate will be fine, we never hard any major issues with raids. So why now?
Edit: I have read all the thread and my god. What a shit show.
So many complaints about core features of the game, I couldn't help but notice join date are all around 2019-2022.
I understand some complaints which has existed since forever and we got answered multiple times by "we are a small team". I don't know if it still holds true in 2022 but I will wait to see the next expansion as they explained on the roadmap.
But again, complaining about core features and the game development direction, are you sure you guys are enjoying the game? Maybe you guys are waiting for the game to become something more familiar? It won't, I'm sorry.
You may be able to manipulate the masses here but I won't be buying your "I care more and am better than you" attitude. Again you can assume what you want. I know what my intentions are and what the truth is.
You brought my mother up (which is the fact of the matter) which is already personal but hey you'd rather point fingers and say "no you" again like a child. Again just stop dude and get back on topic instead of ego stroking
This thread makes me feel a bit out of place seeing as I'm genuinely the happiest I've been with this game in years currently.
I have a few issues and complaints (mostly jobs getting way too easy, and character appearance-related things) but I'm also having fun again. So I was pretty surprised to come onto the forums and see so many issues everyone was having, personally.
I'm, not Sauron nor am I the one using their infirm family members as chess pieces on the board to win an internet argument. Of course, I brought your mother as a matter of fact and you brought up her disease as a matter of fact. Bringing people's mothers up as a passing remark about your cowardice isn't that personal but your mother's disease certainly is. Show her some respect next time and the only one ego-stroking her is you and rather sick that you do it using a family in such a condition. the fact that Stanger has to tell you this is shocking,
Anyways. Maybe with the housing situation the devs will take a bit more into account. I can't exactly say 6.1 has been bad. Pvp needs adjustments but thats a given. I have no complaints about the new raids other than I wish the boss voices were a bit higher. Msq was a ok to me
Honestly, can you stop your insipid bickering? "Go back to your mom" is an insult. It's not a direct reference to your mother. You didn't like that you got insulted. You tried to hang your relative's tragedy over the head of someone on the internet because you're a blackhearted creature who will abuse that if you can get away with it. They're petty and won't disengage despite this obvious note meaning you can't be reasoned with.
This is just a useless back and forth. It's okay, ladies. You're both insufferable.

Anyways back on topic. There has been a pretty significant quality drop since Stormblood that has continued on and on. People are saying this all began with the downfall of WoW creating a vacuum of competition, but I believe this began with the success of 2.0 and the applauded release of HW. Whether it's enforced or not anymore, there was also a rule on the forums that explicitly forbade criticizing the developers back then which was actually enforced if we see posted videos in some medias such as Reddit. This, with what Yoshi has admittedly done well in the long past, has created a very strong forgiving backbone of people who will excuse or ignore any failing of the development team. Certainly, I agree this bug is small, but it's that very reason that this is flagrantly incompetent. To say nothing of the 75% unfavorable split and the continued exhaustion people have with housing. It's only now we realize it because enough things are beginning to stumble that the boiling point is being reached, but I promise this is a very long time coming.
I wonder what the reason to dedicate so many Fc house wards over personal housing was?
I think if it was reversed, it'd be a bit better to some regard (minus the 0 being a winning bid)
Also, I have so many suggestions to improve current house decorating features but that's in the appropriate place (in the housing forums)
My complaints are mostly character creation related, (i have a hair megathread) but also in house decorating
Do I think it's all doom & gloom? No. Absolutely not- we were told we would get less things so it's not a surprise but to me, personally I feel there has also been a disconnect & the lack of transparency has always frustrated the heck out of me
I'm no black hearted creature. The point was I've heard that insult many times and even if I wanted to do as such I couldn't. I mentioned it one time but it was taken and ran with. I don't want or need sympathy but my word isn't enough there. Again you can assume my intent all you want as is your right but don't go around calling people creatures in that regard.
I think the reason was to prioritize FC's as personal housing, short of gardening, is largely a decorative endeavor while FC's want to use more practical mechanics like the submarines or airships. Their access to it was just as limited as those of private buyers, of course, which lessened the FC experience. The issue now is they vastly overestimated the potential demand by FC's and are blind that private buyers far outweigh the pining population. Maybe they want people to join FC's and have the housing experience through the dormitory (I think that's what FC apartments are called?) and may hope to dilute the private owner market a bit that way, but as we all know, that's hardly working.
Frustration has been definitely boiling because the obvious solution to this is instanced housing, but instead we get the dev team spending untold money and manhours on bandaid fixes that will do little else than display, well, incompetence. Like not being able to manage a random number generator. Immediately following the incorrect substat issue. Immediately following an underwhelming EX. And far too much more.
Was the EW story controversial? I get not everyone would have been happy with it (Though I loved it!) but some make it sound as if it was at ‘The Last Jedi’ levels of division. I almost would not mind if that was the case, then at least poor old underrated Stormblood may not been seen in the negative light so many draw it in…
Overall I have enjoyed the 6.0+ era so far. Sure, there are things I do not like and feel the devs have failed in/continue to fail in (Summoner re-work, housing etc) but I do not really see this extreme shift in quality some have said. Voices may seem louder sure, but there are more players then ever and such negativity carries stronger on the wind then praise. A few of the common complaints are ones I have seen since 2.0, and in the end we all have our own bias which sometimes make us see things in only black and white. Not saying they should be ignored, we should always speak up for what we think works/does not (I hope that the housing curffuel gets the devs to finally do something about this thorn in the games side that will only fester if left in its current state longer, for example) but we do take it to the extremes sometimes.
Same, really I feel the only big issues 6.1 had are:
1. Terrible Hrothgar hairstyles
2. Housing Lottery Crisis
Those 2 are the real big issues with 6.1 imo. I suppose job adjustments could be a big 3rd but this has been debated on for years between people it seems. Some people like the changes, Some people dont but this is how I see it normally.
There needs to be improvements with those two and people are very much in their right to be angry. I want this game to be better and its sad that stuff like this isnt being delivered properly. I feel for the devs because from what Ive seen, I do genuinely believe that they care for this game. Its just they're lacking a lot of focus right now and I really do think the fact that Yoshida having to juggle between managing an MMO and SE's next big FF game is taking a hit on the level of quality. And I know a lot of these changes are things that people have been shouting for years too so there's also that and whatever managing system they got going on isnt working well.
My point is, we shouldnt be encouraging people to calm down. Trying to ask random strangers on the internet to not be mad over screw ups isnt going to help anyone. Proper feedback for these issues need to be listened and addressed most importantly.
Glad you are are having fun, don't let forums let you down, I haven't seen so much negativity since Stormblood horrible launch.
Don't pay too much attention, the game is not perfect and like you said there are spots for improvement but to be honest many recent complaints are about core features of the game which are the pillar of this game since ARR. Others are complaints that exists since forever.
For the later, just let people whine and hope SE will keep improving on baby steps like they have been for years and accept that sometimes they will make mistakes.
About other complaints, accept it that this game is not WoW and it will never be. Complaining about the style of raids, rotation, leveling experience will fall into deaf ears.
Controversial? Maybe not, but I was personally a bit grossed out. It felt like fetishization of suffering and the ego stroking of a narcissistic Hydaelyn who beats us because she loves us.
I loathed it to be sure, but that hardly means other people aren't allowed to like it. I guess I'm more taken off-guard because I adored the story of ShB and HW, so I'm just whiplashed by finding something I can't have enough of as a story before being beaten over the head with the bowl.
Maybe I'm cruel, but I expect more than babysteps to fix basic functions and features from a multi-billion dollar company.
Honestly, I also feel that people over-praise Heavensward and Shadowbringers for being the best jrpg story in the genre. I'm sorry, those two expansions still had issues with its story and pacing, especially Shadowbringers and saying either of those two are better than the plots of lets say FFVI or FFIX is just extremely delusional. Now are they still good? Oh Absolutely, but with me at the very least the reason I very much enjoy FFXIV's story is because I see the whole pie, not the little slices here and there.
I'm really not sure where some people are getting the impression that the desire is to have the game become more like WoW when the most common criticism within this thread and various others is that many of us are former WoW players who witnessed the slow and steady decline of WoW for ourselves and are now seeing the exact same trajectory with this game. Complete with posters insisting that everything is fine, that the complaints are just 'overdramatic', that they don't see any issues and so on and so forth.
Equally, it's a balancing act in that people who have invested time and effort into a hobby they enjoy don't really want to just roll over and leave without at least having their say - which is precisely what many people are doing by coming to the forum to put forward their takes.
Yep. It's not about making this game like WoW. It's about trying to get people to realize that this game is slowly becoming the very thing we/they don't want it to be. It's not blind rage that drives us. It is a desire to see this game avoid the mistakes that WoW made. I realize that some may not understand what we're trying to do and just assume we're being salty just because we can, but it's not true. Everything we're saying comes from a place of caring.
This started back in Stormblood and intensified in ShB.
Glad to see patience is running low on Yoshi-P and the team. Not because I hate the man, quite the opposite, but because we've seen some of their shameless lies and when some of us have told everyone, we've been treated like the worst blasphemous sinners. I want this game to thrive and to shine above the rest and it's so sad to see they just refuse to fix their mistakes and treat people as if they were stupid. My only hope is to think that they can't do anything about it because S-E is keeping the resources from them, but I guess that is just copium. After all, this is the team that managed to pull the end of 1.0 and ARR at the same time, only larger and more experienced.
And, oh God, I absolutely despise the cash shop! There, had to say it. Every new cool mount goes there while we get absolute garbage for events. Could we get those from... idk ingame events??? So they are not the absurd content they are now? I don't want a reskinned egg emote which is already 4 times in the game. Or dog earrings which are barely noticeable that are supposed to be the highlight of the event designed for content drought yet we somehow got between patches? Nah, 16 euros for a cool mount after 4 months of content drought and dead cities is the way to go. No problem here!
Yeah, like I'm not gonna sugar coat some issues like housing in particular. I lucked out this time, but it sucks knowing there's plenty of things in the game such as gardening, airships, submarines, other workshop projects, and the housing decoration in general that the majority of the player base will have difficulty ever using or may not get to use in general. It's worse with MSQ, fates, and such giving you furnishings as guaranteed rewards.
IMO, no systems should exist that cause a minority of the player base to ever access it, especially when it's not even by player choice. Even things like Savages and Ultimates or Eureka and Bozja, despite being a thing not everyone utilizes, are always going to be doable with the proper work or preparation or forming/joining a static or whatnot. Housing is a different entity because most players simply don't get a choice in the matter as it is now.
As for the whole multi-billion dollar company thing, I've always been convinced that despite how successful this game is, Square Enix is probably allocating its profits to every other project under the sun (FF7R, KH3, etc.) and not putting most of it back into the game. The game could really benefit from a larger budget, expanding the teams, etc. and it'd hopefully lessen the already crazy workload the devs undergo consistently.
But that's the point that many refugees doesn't understand, Square Enix is a multi-billion dollar company, but each project operates like a company itself and has a budget based on their expected profit.
It might be mind blowing but SE treated FFXIV like an underdog until ShB release. The team has grown since then but in development there is a saying "3 women can't birth in 3 months", it will take time to show results which I believe we might see in next expansion.
