Rokien buddy I like you, and I get what your saying, but that there may be the only time in history that that phrase has been uttered (with the acception of white guys talking about who to let on golf courses.)

I had this feeling while reading this post that I was running around a tetherball post. You seem to spend a lot of time talking a lot less time actually getting a message across. I'm sorry, I guess this post is irrelevant and I don't mean to upset you, but I admit I couldn't help myself after reading it. The truth is Rokien probably made this post, along with all his many other posts because he wants an opinion voiced. Everyone knows that that not even half the player base bothers to post on here. There may be a large group that read and do not post. These are things the developers have acknowledge. Rokien posts and voices his opinions when he can just in case there are like minded individuals that have yet to speak out. People may find it annoying but in truth, often times people do agree with his posts. So I hope everyone can find it in themselves to forgive him despite his inability to shut his mouth before he can speculate off the deep end.
I'd also like to argue that money is a very big driving force for an artist or designer. It's true people have passions about these things and they may pursue them regardless. However, there is an entire nation founded on the belief that money or at least recognition and appreciation for a creation is a driving force for these people. That's why patents exist after all. To say sales is not an inspiration for a gaming company is incredibly wrong. I'm sure that game developers feel very 'close' to their projects and they are proud of them no matter how well they are received by the public, but I doubt very many game developers have had the freedom to do whatever they want with their own game due to the investment cost of such projects.
There are not forums for every game. People don't set up these things so that they can be littered with praises. It's a place we can all speak our mind so that the developers can understand the demographic and desires of their consumers. So lets talk about the topic rather than argue whether this topic is valid or somehow intrinsically immoral.
Anyways... Having two home points is just another uneeded addition to this game. I wish we'd get the feeling that traveling is part of the adventure. I get tired of just being at different locations and either talking to an npc or in a fight. There is no getting there or exploration, it's just simply look at the map and teleport. So for each new addition that makes traveling easier, the game becomes less full and more flat. Though I feel this whole messy transportation system will get a revamp in 2.0 so I reserve any true complaints for that.
i hardly ever post on here, but rokien has made me care less about what he wants more then anything in this thread. i like this game a lot, and no matter what you say rokien it is a final fantasy game, no matter what they add or take away from it. the title has not changed.
I agree with everything you're saying here.
I think airships were doomed before they even added them though. I knew I'd never use them. I have far too much anima. I've never once been on an airship. Why would I waste the gil? Wouldn't even be enjoyable not being able to walk around on deck. :x
I hope that someday SE fixes/gets rid of anima so that airships and chocobos see far more use. World seems dead with people magically popping in and out all the time.

On topic: As for being able to warp to the inns I figured I'd only use that before logging out for the night.
...
The level of QQ on these forums for helpful features is nothing short of mind blowing. I thought this "community" had a few battered housewives, but now I see it's quite a number more than I imagined.
Damn me for giving people the benefit of the doubt on that one lol
Can't you guys he happy already? What's it gonna take, seriously? This feature will get implemented and all this arguing will be forgotten shortly after, except by the few who choose to make e-enemies out of other posters. It's not a big enough deal to even be posting 25 pages about. There are gonna be plenty more far "worse" features in the future. Save yer breath already!
Yea there is no use arguing, I am sure none of the devs are stupid enough to takes anything Rokien says.
Two home point, until 2.0 is here, is pretty fine for me.
I don't want to waste all my money on airship, 5k is maybe cheap, but having to use airship more often and it's getting a whole in the wallet.
And i would love to get a free teleporter from Ul'dah to > Gridania/Limsa lominsa (not the inverse), so we can manage to not overcrowed Ul'dah and make players more ready to stay on anothers town place. (or make airship free and instant).
All that of course, until 2.0 . After that, i'm all up to remove anima, two home point, make airship cost money, etc...
Now. I don't exactly agree with Rokien, but dear God.
What the hell is this?
Disagreements on game design gives us no right to act like arrogant belittling asses.
If you think his line of reasoning is wrong, simply explain so and move on. If he's really in the wrong, there's no point to pursuing an extended argument with him, especially when said arguments lead to jumping onto stagnant labels like "Troll" "White Knight" "Whiner" to try to lift ourselves above one another. Like we're too good to hear the opinions of others so we can use that as an excuse to back away from discussion. We're all on the same level here. Everyone wants their voice heard and we should be able to discuss these issues like adults.
This "OMG U TROLL ME" twaddle does nothing but make us look like bickering children and I know we can be better behaved than that.
My biggest problem with Anima/Teleport/Return is the way it really kills my immersion. Yea I know there is some lore behind how Anima/Aether works, but it still doesn't make sense that everyone can just *pop* use it.
I really would feel better if Teleport was some kind of spell a job learned. It doesn't have to be White Mage like in XI, heck make a Time Mage who's only purpose is to increase people's travel speed, teleport them around, whatever else. This is a better game than XI for that, since you can change jobs on the fly. Everyone can level their Time Mage, if desired, port around to kingdom come, then switch back to what they really wanna be when they hit their destination. And for those who don't have TMG leveled, I'm sure there will be plenty of people in town willing to assist you...for a price. :) Give them 10k gil and as long as you have 4 Anima to spare, you're off! The Time Mage can "distort Aetherial energy" or some such, thereby allowing them to send adventurers to far away crystals...see what I mean? At least now there is some lore that grounds Teleporting to the world of Eorzea. And this was just a random thought, please don't think I would not be accepting of a million different way of doing this, as long as it makes sense within the context of the game world. In this way, we retain our fast travel options, but at least there is a little lore and a little up-front time investment to attain it.
I had posted something a while back about a Moogle Adventuring Society, in relation to Content Finder. This group (of Time Mage Moogles :)) has been tasked by the Ul'dahn Sultanate to assist adventurers in tackling Evil throughout Eorzea. There is a line of quests you may do for them to unlock a "special magicite receiver", developed in conjunction with the Garlond Ironworks, which you may use to find other adventurers based on the tasks they are looking to perform. Or with cross-server Content Finder, which usually involves the party being insta-ported to their dungeon, say the M.A.S. has the ability to tap your essence and send you to any place your soul remembers - but it will cost some of your energy (Anima)! So as long as you've been to the place before, they can send you and your cross-server group to meet up there, if you have the Anima to spare. Again, just another random example of injecting lore into these ease-of-use functionalities.
So for multiple Returns (which is the subject of this discussion), perhaps the M.A.S. has developed a new, curious attuning device. Your first quest is to help them get the materials they need to produce your very own Hearthstone - oh yes I did just say that. :P Maybe it starts at rank 20. By the time you reach rank 30, the Moogles have made a breakthrough! If you help them do x and y, whatever, they can expand the potential of your Hearthstone to include a second destination....
Sorry for rambling so long, but I think the main point is pretty clear. I have no problem at all with options for faster traveling, just please please PLEASE keep it classy and make sure it's something that "feels right" within the game context.
122 likes on wolfies post lol.
We need a petition to ban Rokien.
If thats how it goes, I can live with it. I respect everyone's opinion on the game/forums, as I said before these little things are not a deal breaker for me(yet). If you have noticed once they get implemented I don't really talk about em anymore.
Side note: I am boycotting the goobuu still.
@firepixiedarien That's from, Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase
Rokien, just stop making no sense. Stop being dense. Stop making threads, especially petitions.
Just... stop.
You're not blocking anything. Not even close. It's a long shot even when there's a large support base in the community for a change, and in almost all of your petitions- this being a prime example- you're far from having any noteworthy support. Not quite an "opinion leader" on these forums.
I mean if you just did the OP, looked at the negativity, and stopped it'd be one thing... but then you make a bunch of retarded assertions such as:
Really? I mean.. really...
And you'll just keep proving that your opinions are pretty worthless. Congratulations on achieving irrelevance.
So... I didn't call you any names or make fun of you directly, but rather pointed out that your threads tend to be faced with negativity by the community- thus that you are without support- and that while posting your opinion may be fine defending it with nonsensical posts- of which I gave 2 examples- only serves to hurt your case and make your sincerity questionable.
For those reasons I suggested that you simply stop posting.... and you consider this a personal attack?
Classic Rokien.
You know, the best way to tell someone you don't care, is not to talk to them.
Wow I don't post on these forums often, but I had to come out of the woodwork for this one. Honestly what's the big deal with two HPs? I fail to see how this could have any negative affect on your gameplay...same with the deathwarp, if there is a feature you are so against, just don't use it? I think it's refreshing that SE is attempting to trend away from cumbersome game mechanics (especially the ones that crippled this game from the start). Why are people such gluttons for punishment?
@Jman there is nothing wrong with it, this is just a typical go against the grain Rokien thread.
Two new petition ideas!
Petition: Please give us Brown Mage (element feces)
Petition: Please give us Bacon Mage (element pork, with a Boar pet)
When I want to explore, then that's what I do. If there is an area I have not seen or experienced yet, then I'll go and do it. Now when I want to quickly return to town from an EXP party to join my ls for some raids - I'd like to have the prerogative to do so. At the end of the night when I've stayed up waaaaay too late having fun with friends in game, it'll be nice to just return to my Inn and not have to walk an extra few minutes just to log out. Being forced to traverse vast expanses of land in order to move on to my next "adventure" impedes "adventuring" more than advancing it. People will still use airships, people will still want to explore new zones and for those who do not - who are you to discredit them?
This is really what it all boils down to. Anyone who wants to explore can do so. Having other, quicker means of transportation by no means prevents people who wish to explore from exploring.
However, what Rokien wishes is for people to have to explore (if you can even call it that after the first time going somewhere) and spend hours of their gametime simply traveling from point A to point B. He's taking what he personally finds enjoyable and enforcing it upon others who may prefer to play time-efficiently more often than not.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. They are used. Not by the majority, sure. However they definitely are. I use them, and I see people using them every single time I'm there waiting.
Who are you to dictate how often one feature should be used? Do you honestly think the devs don't know how often something they implemented is used. Do you think they don't consider everything before they chose to implement something.
I never said I find it enjoyable, it's part of the game, the experience. Also, here we go again,
>I wanna choco>they wanna teleport>I choco>They teleport>Takes me 10mins>They don't wanna wait 10mins>Kicks me>gets someone else.
You all say, "PLAY HOW YOU WANNA PLAY" but really, you guys are forcing me to play how I don't wanna play when I can play how I wanna play.
I like how OP totally ignores my post and starts fussing about airships. Are you derailing your own thread?
Really? You're playing with a party of people. In any group activity each member doesn't simply do as they wish, but they cooperate. If the other 7 people in your prty wanna get somewhere right away, and you say "nah guys I wanna chocobo to Aurum Vale and take in the sights... I'll meet you there in 20 minutes!" then you're being the dick, not them.
You can play however you wish to play when you play solo. This goes for every group activity.
DO you ever run out of silly arguments?
