wheres the juicy info of 1.21 is tuesday already ><;
The amount of venom spouted in this thread is mind-baffling. On both sides of this argument. Can we at least agree that some new info would be exciting, whether we're entitled to it or not?
I'm happy they finally stepped up and gave us at least some sort of confirmation on the status of 1.21. Although, from the looks of it, it doesn't sound like we'll get it anytime soon. At the moment I'm leaning more towards second week of March at the earliest.
Also, it would be interesting to hear when the player's poll is supposed to happen. As far as I know, we're supposed to get that before 1.21 hits.
While I can understand why you're upset.....It changes nothing. The patch wont be coming out any faster because you lost your cool.
I'm pretty annoyed myself that there is still no info on this patch; But I know attacking other forum members and generally acting like a child is not going to solve my/your issue with the lack of info/no real patch at all.
We were told the patch was going to be delayed until the end of the month. It's not the end of the month yet. At least the update on the situation gives us information that leads us to believe the patch is still good for the end of the month: Testing on job quests, which seems to be the last thing from how it was worded. No exact time will be given until the work is done! Yoshi-P said this long ago. He does not want to give exact dates before he knows for sure that he can deliver on that exact date. Delays have happened, notice it's always been a ball park release date, not an exact? Because shit happens.
That's life. It's a shocker, I know. A fantasy game where you come to escape real life is made in real life. luls.
Pretty sure everyone can agree more info would be awesome.
What? ...the proof...is IN the pudding???

Quick, Update Urban Dictionary. You might want to put a synonym in there: Waaaahmbulance.
Ontopic: of course everyone would like content updates and prepatch teasers, but just because we pay 10 bucks a month does not entitle us to content on demand. The feeling of self importance in some of these posts is unbelievable.
ITT: people who have obviously never played an MMO before and have never paid for a game beyond its shelf price and have no idea how the world really works
Agoven casts HALO on everyone and brings you great joy and happiness...it has arrived...everything you dreamed of.
NOW SMIILE!!
Wielder of the Staff of Justice I pronounce to you all...It will come eventually. Start drooling and dream of lots of candies!!!
To all of those raging, please continue to rage if it makes you feel better. I also hate that SE can't seem to meet any of the deadlines they set for themselves. It use to infuriate me as well, now I just think its embarrissing on there part, but we can do little about it.
To those raging at the ragerS: telling them to deal with it is humerous. They ARE dealing with it. Just because they aren't dealing the same way the rest of us are doesnt mean they aren't stuck waiting it out with the rest of us. To each his own all, I just fail to to understand how someone that is pissed about more delays effects the rest of you. Let em rage if it makes em feel better, its not really hurting anyone.
I suspect we will get a letter or post soon that explains why this patch is going to take just a little longer than the time they quoted us last. Its gettting to be predictable, and kinda sad.
The proof is in the pudding needs to be a sidequest in game. More opportunities to fight flan, or even a giant flan hiding evidence.
I think we need to stop comparing FFXIV to other MMO's. It's in a pretty unique state in that they released it without it being ready for release. And after 1,5 years I think you'll find that most people will say it still isn't release-ready.
If it was 100% ready from the get-go with content to go along with it, it would be a completely different situation.
I cast heal spell....heal spell all around!!!!
HEAL!!!!
That doesn't even make sense. The thread has nothing to do with the game itself. It is specifically about communication with the development team. Communication in which we have had plenty.
If thats not enough evadence of the regularity of communication, then nothing can be done to sway the unintelligent rambling of the clowns claiming we are not being given information.
Yeah because 90% of people on this site has not paid for years of subscription to XI. You want to know how the real world works? If you promise a product to someone and take their money you should delivery it. Otherwise, you get a bad rep, the client can sue you, and you pretty much deserve to go out of business.
That would apply if they made any promises or garuntees. Your right, I never paid for years of FFXI subs, I paid for about a year, but I have played several other MMOs. If you think we are not getting much communication in relation to the genre standard, then it clearly demonstrates your absolute lack of knowledge.
Oh, I agree. They can deal with it how they like. They chose to deal with it by raging on public forums, sharing their rants with everyone as if every detail of their feelings are ever-important to the world. They should simply accept that when they go on a public forum to rant, people will attack/complain about them. The problem is the ridiculous white knight accusations being tossed around to anyone that simply does not want to put up with unnecessary ranting.
If people are entitled to raging online to deal with their disappointment, others are entitled to rage at their raging to deal with their annoyance. Don't just draw the line wherever you want about what's ok and what isn't. The FFXIV Forums are for discussion and feedback. Not one-sided, pointless raging.
If I'm upset with something I don't go out in public and start ranting among strangers. If I did, I would at least do so expecting them to yell at me to stfu.
Are you able to log onto and play FFXIV? Yes? Then you're getting what you paid for.
Were delays existent before they started charging subscription? Yes - and more than the number of patches without delays. Therefore did you know what to expect in terms of patch release dates when you started paying? Yes? Then you're getting what you paid for.
Are you paying for them to tell you what you want to know about the game's future when you want to know it? No.
You are getting what you paid for.
If you feel like you have any grounds on which to sue SE as a consumer of their product, Godspeed.
Otherwise, stop making horrible analogies.
Oh thread, my how you've grown. When I went to bed last night it you were 11. I wake up to find you over 18 and might I say you've turned into quite the picture of womanhood. Are you seeing anyone? No? How would you like to go to dinner tonight with me? Great, I'll pick you up at 7.
so people are still arguing that were not getting info for 1.21 huh, maybe you havent scene this juicy tidbit!
thats right, posted only 1 week ago.Quote:
Hamlet defense update.
We received news about the anticipated hamlet defense!
The development team is currently working on the hamlet defense which is slated to be released in patch 1.22. They are creating the content to allow every class, including crafters and gatherers, to be able to participate.
We will be introducing the specifics post-patch 1.21, so please look forward to it!
Greetings everyone,
Sorry for the delay in getting additional information for you all (us NA reps were out of the office yesterday due to a national holiday). I understand everyone is looking forward to more information, and as Triairy mentioned, Yoshida has been busy finalizing patch 1.21 content, like the job quests, and hasn't been able to be as active on the forums. Once the content is finalized, we'll be sure and let you know the date that the patch is set to go live in an upcoming Letter from the Producer which will be released soon.
That said, there are a lot of heated comments in this thread, and I would ask everyone to be careful in how they treat each other on the forums. If comments continue to be out of line, we will need to close the thread.
Lol. Everyone should have bailed on this thread when people started quoting the dictionary.
Whatever.

I appreciate the response Bay, while some in here are complaining for the hell of it, some of us here feel strongly towards the developers because we do want to see this game succeed, and if there are faults I feel are within the game or the development team's methods, I feel it is appropriate to express myself and give an opinion that would help benefit the community and the team. May not sound that way, but that is my intent, haha. People do need to learn to criticize without taking it to a personal level. Opinions are taken more seriously if written in a detailed and well-mannered fashion.
One could then argue that raging is just the far right end of the spectrum that is feedback is all I am saying. Expressing displeasure is feedback. My point is, its an open forum, and my guess is , people that rage to that degree are probably LOOKING for people to respond negatively to them, it then gives them a focal point for thier rage since SE rarely responds to that sort of thing. If you were to go out in public and rage, people really would tell you to STFU because your causing a disturbance and distrupting the peace. People writing words in capitol letters on a forum about video games isn't really the same thing at all. Its not disrupting anyones peace, so let em go nuts. They certainly have a right to get irritated at a company that they pay money to for not doing what they said they would do when they said they were going to do it.
Wow, totally off OP now. Thats my bad. Glad to see the devs respond about this, although it still doesn't tell us anything we didnt already know. As always, 'They are working on it" lol. We should make and distribute SE t-shirts with that on the back.
Someone should tell on you lot to the SE headquarters. Let them know that President's day is not a real national holiday and the vast majority of us do still work on that day.
Then again that is just me being bitter, good for you for managing to wrangle the day off. At least someone managed to do it.
Why is this thread still even open lol.
First world problems girl comes to mind with the caption " Coding web page and translating is exhausting --- Need off for president's day."
So based on Bay´s response... we can assume that for NOW, we are getting the new letter from the producer, which most likely will tell us all the cool stuff that is coming but with a bit of a 2 week delay? Meaning that 1.21 is very likely to be delayed.
Anyone on this with me?
Only REAL AMERICANS celebrate President's Day
wrong
he pretty much says they are reviewing the final stages of 1.21 so they can give us a release date
finishing it today does not mean releasing it tomorow after all so we still probly got til late this week or next week which is what we all pretty much knew was happening
I disagree... I think that 1.21 will be a tad bit delayed!
best case scenerio would be getting the letter thurs and the patch next thurs which would be march 1st, technically the end of feb. and during that week between the letter and patch, we get a flood of patch teasers and more info about the patch
wishful thinking but it can happen
I agree with you. A letter from the producer before an anticipated patch release almost always resulted in a delay announcement. I don't have time to review every letter, but it could be true that every letter placed before an expected had resulted in a delay announcement.
Everyone should just accept that it is delayed before it is official. A lot easier that way. lol
Edit: LOVE that sig Colino.
