Adding Legacy Tattoo to Mog Station

No way no how! Op me and my fellow version one player's played on when others abandoned we hung in there and supported ffxiv to even make 2.0 a reality so I ask you and all the others that feel that you all are so entitled or give me give me where were you. Sure not playing an good game plagued with a lot of problems the exclusive things we got was a way of se saying thanks and no matter how much crying and begging you people who have not been through thick and thin and during the worst will not nor ever have your name in the credits nor the exclusive item's or marks and as was stated by se and will never be given out again even if us v1 player's deleted our character with the exclusive item's and created anew will not be restored I love my gorlond of goggles and earned through per order in sept 2010 and no one else should be able to buy them and others which iv earned

You "earned" pre-order goggles?

Do the people here even know the difference between "earned" and bought anymore? I have the tatt on my character - not because I finished the story quests, not because I paid anything, and not because I supported an absolute mess of a game... it was because I created the character before a certain date.

That is how "earned" this was. For those of you who don't want others to have it... why? Do you actually think it means something? It doesn't. It means your character was created before X date.... but I play a character that doesn't have a tat, because I didn't want a legacy server.

I am really starting to worry about these people that think payment and buying things is "earning" them... at what point is this going to become a buy2win game... since that is "earning/deserving"?? People are attributing virtue to themselves where there is none to be found.

Your post implies (as others have already) that everyone who didn't play 1.0 didn't do so because they decided not to, while there are in fact some that would but couldn't due to RL circumstances. You're (unwittingly or otherwise) laying down a blanket statement on a group, perpetuating the blanket statement others have made towards everyone who has the stupid tattoo, insisting they're all arrogant elitists. In the end, the argument just goes in an endless cycle over a missing tattoo that isn't nearly as bad as any number of other unfortunate things the universe could deal an individual. This is all really starting to remind me a great deal of the main story of Heavensward ;p

It doesn't really have anything to do with the items or the lore.

They could add a flashback quest line, but the legacy perks themselves symbolize the fact that some players stuck around and supported the game when it was crappy and the future was uncertain.

It sucks that you weren't able to play 1.0 even though you wanted to, but it's not right to make those symbols of support available to everyone, regardless of how small they are.

Half the responses here don't even know what they are talking about. This wasn't in the "legacy entitlements" that people had to qualify for...it's really annoying.. especially since I have this silly thing and I am still having to explain to others who have no clue and just parrot or spout nonsense they are fed by others.

It's not an accomplishment, guys and girls. Creating a character is NOT an accomplishment.

The progression of XIV 1.0 was Release > Pay to play > Sorry we fucked up, let us fix it > Free to Play but must have purchased the game > okay we fixed it, please resub > End of 1.23

There really wasn't much in the way of demanding x or y.
Even though it was only a couple of years back and more or less the same title, the community was rather different. There wasn't huge rallys of "give me this because I want it." If you missed a seasonal event, you missed the items. Forever. And that's how it was. Sucks when it happened but that's how things rolled back then.
They announced the legacy program and that surely brought people back to get in on the sweet deal, but the actual players currently playing never really asked for it. They were simply enjoying the MMO they wished to play. The legacy program was simply some icing on the cake for them.

This thread has become saltier than the Dead Sea.

Wrong. There have been plenty of Kickstarter exclusives that later get opened up to a wider audience after the company asks their original backers and, almost every time, the backers say, "Yeah, go ahead, make this available to everybody. We support you!" There's no loss of trust and no drama, just mature adults supporting a company they love. And yet there are just as many companies that have done limited time promotions whether they be physical goods or digital, with plenty of consumers willing to respect their decision to do as such with the understanding that those goods would never be available again in the future.

They don't turn around and cry out at the people who were able to participate in those events or buy those goods by calling them names or insinuating that they're special snowflakes for having done so when they're reminded of the fact that the promotions were limited time only.

This isn't new or exclusive to SE, merchants have been doing this since the concept of trade, yet reading this thread and seeing players acting like they are specifically being punished is mind boggling.

It was for a limited time event and is no longer available, there are plenty of people wish to see it remain as such simply for no reason other than it was stated as being so

Going to go with the last one, as there have been many topics and posts with people whining and not being able to stand they can't have everything. This one is no different.

I don't have Legacy status, and it would be a nice thing to have, but... this should remain exclusive to 1.0 people.

With the exception of the 1.0 Goobue mount I think many people (me included) believe that many of that will eventually make it, either in cash shop like the moonlet ring, Moogle quests like the star spangled subligar and through other means like Gold Saucer or maybe other sidequests

Actually, I believe the Onion items have been in the game for a while now as a possible reward from Quick Retainer Ventures.

Is there any way SE can restore a legacy tattoo that may have been lost during character creation?

All of the insults, defensiveness, and covetousness over a set of pixels on a characters back. For goodness sake. Keep it. Just know that if it weren't for us (the post 1.0 player base) you might not have a game to play anymore, because I'm sure some people got fed up with 1.0 and decided not to stick around later to see what they decided to do with the game ...Just like if it weren't for you, the game likely wouldn't be where it is for all of us today. Respect for both player bases would be considerate instead of the obvious abhorrance I see for non legacy players. We aren't plebs and don't need to be treated as such.

Precisely, I transferred from Sargatanas to Hyperion and then to Odin, my tat is there. If it doesn't show just use the command to display it, it might reset to not displaying, or something.

I want to be able to transfer my Hermes shoes from my redundant character onto my main because they are no use stuck on a char I am never going to use due to the server placement that was forced on it.

I can see certain event items going up to the mog station. Yearly events, I can definitely see SE putting items up there for people to buy. Time sensitive events (Such as 1.0's end or Lightning Returns) I don't see. It wouldn't make much logical sense to me. I don't care about the tatoo, the goobue or the moon earring, didn't even know they existed, but this is the sort of entitled attitude that will ultimately kill this game. With that said, I agree, the tattoo should be 1.0 legacy players exclusive. Maybe put a different one on the cash shop or something.

Because tattoos are cool, and we currently don't have any that aren't attached to gear.

I doubt any of the people asking for it really SPECIFICALLY want the legacy tattoo (though maybe some do). The option to have tattoos would be really awesome, and since it's obviously doable it's a shame they don't implement a variety we can all choose from.

So personally, I would love tattoos. The legacy tattoo though, meh.

It's cool and all that you want to earn them but lets be honest here, the legacy status (and the items that comes with it) where a SPECIAL reward, they where limited time offers, you can't get them anymore, get over it.

You didn't knew the struggle of going everywhere on foot without a chocobo, or having to ask for repairs every few hours because only players could repair your equipment to 100%, or having to be careful on how many times you used teleport because you where limited on it's use, you wanted to fight Ifrit? You had to farm an X ammount of items to be able to enter the fight, you lost and ran out of said items? You had to go back and farm them again, same thing with Moogles, you didn't got stuck on the marketwards without being able to exit because of server issues, wanted to be an archer? You had to buy arrows, you ran out? You can't attack anymore, darn! You didn't even met Louisoix! My point is that 1.0 players suffered all that stuff and more because they believed in the game back then, and in return Yoshi's team rewarded those players for being supportive at a time of need.

I'm not talking with the mentality of how I don't want others to have what I have, since I don't have any of the legacy bonus items despise being there, but I understand the fact that those rewards where a limited offer. They might make a quest chain where you get to see with your own eyes the events of 1.0 but I don't think they will give the legacy items again. Sorry. :(
