Our pets need significant increases in damage. Like I keep saying, my auto attack with my books do more dmg. That's pathetic

When Titan-egi is on the screen, all I can see is Kellogs 'Corn Pops'

/sigh...
Egi/Summoner approach for ARR is a blemish on the FF series and a cheapening of the once epic job. (*disclaimer: I don't want SMN in this game to fully summon primals, I'd just like the 'Egi' to be a slightly bigger and a slightly closer in design to the originals - If not, than at least rename the job from 'Summoner' to 'Evoker' {see FFIII}as it is much more accurate for what they've designed.)
-OR-
Just nix the Primals altogether and have SMN summon lesser summons like Fenrir, Typhon, Siren, etc.. (these are already designed and built for FFXIV).
Summoners need to call forth the actual Avatar/Primal/Esper/Eidelon/etc as they have in every FF game. If the issues is that primals are too big, then replace them with lesser summons. FF series is full of them.
For all Yoshi-P did right, why did he have to get SMN so wrong? :(
I played Summoner in FFXI for many years of my life. It was my pride and joy of that game.
I'm okay with how the egis look in FFXIV: ARR because if you pay attention to the lore of the main storyline and summoner quest line, it makes sense. We are literally calling upon an 'avatar' of what gives the primal power -- element incarnate. You must first defeat the primal before being able to call upon the avatar, and then you must defeat that avatar to bend the egi to your will. It's tiny because you can only control a tiny part of it before it is too powerful and becomes dangerous.
For me, it's not about the aesthetic quality of the avatars (even though I do like the way they look). It's about functionality. If I can run around and still try to solo superhard stuff like I did in FFXI, I'll be happy. Last night, I was messing around with 'summoner' pulls (throwing my egi at something, running away, resummoning it, letting it automatically attack to see if it would grab the monster's attention) and it worked. As long as you don't add dots to adds, you can use this method for making superhard multi-group pulls and soloing them very slowly. It makes me happy.
On the other hand, I feel like instanced quest mobs are automatically programmed to run after you no matter what. I can't tell you how many times I've thrown Titan-egi at a 'boss' in an instanced solo battle, and the boss ignores Titan-egi and chases me even though I haven't so much as thrown a single DoT at it yet.
Party play definitely has to be reworked, but that's a discussion for another time... since this thread started with "Ifrit-egi is sad!"
Raging Strikes - You can get 2 Fester's per Raging Strikes.
It's 600 crits without it, but that's also with a 41 green weapon.
What are YOU smoking? Our damage is very high ST, over time. We have constant, sustained damage. We have a multitude of DPS CDs(3 of them).
You seem to be more mad about the fact the pet is a sideshow, not the main attraction.
Oh, and 46 damage isn't more than Ifrit hits for.
