For the love of god - give us Level Sync

All right this brings me to my point, so you said you'll be crafting and raiding once you're done xp'ing. Now what if you got low level friends that wants to join you but they cant because of level differences. Wouldn't level sync be helpful to them, or if they want to catch up faster to you how about PL especially if they don't have a lot of time to play? You'll have a reason to help them because of achievements too.

I'm the one who has been PL'ing with Jinko and he is right. There is a huge gap here and it's killing this game right now. It should not be a task finding a party in an MMO. Hell there are even people struggling to put parties together for the new AF gear. I've seen so many new people recently walk from the game for these very reasons and the problem is most that are left playing are all high level so when a new person can't find a party that leaves anyone willing to help them.These people are incredibly over powered so what other options is there than PL? Even if a high level helps they are gonna one shot everything making it not much fun for the new player and then the high level player is going to be bored as well.

What is a new player going to do? go grind out the same mindless crap by themselves (anything by yourself in this game is a miserable experience after an hour) or get a PL so they can play with other people? It really isn't a hard choice but it is a broken one at that.

It is a problem though I have leveled 2 of my classes legit from scratch which was alot of work I remember doing archer when there were low leve limits and no other options and it does kind of suck to see new players who are higher than you in such a short amount of time.This is also creating problems with people not understanding their classes which really hits home in the higher content.

We have been trying to find a party for a few nights now and it is just not happening at best we find like one other person. Sadly when the new AF gear came out many returned which was nice to see but within a week most have dropped back off again putting things back to the way they were. Unless something like level sync is introduced things are only gonna drop off more and considering many high levels are getting all the new gear from dungeons it's only a matter of time before they become bored and resort to PL because there is nothing more to do.

That or it's just logging in and standing around trying to find something to do with others. Unfortunately this is how it will continue to be till 2.0 they will release small amounts of content that high ends will blow through and the cycle repeats until the next one. Personally I think I've hit my highest point in this game really been getting bored and kind of fed up I think it is certainly time for abit of a break at least. As someone who has been playing since day one and went through a server change to work my way back up and all the broken stuff and early problems it is sad to see. It's a shame that now things are coming together the game is becoming less fun to play at least when the game was broken people played together now its just small static groups running the same dungeon over and over yay.

Your point is valid, but unrelated to mine. I am not against level sync. I just personally feel that removing PLing would but all players who come there after at a disadvantage and that the only way to crrect this disadvantage would be to reset sservers or make new ones for the new players.

This is not unlike botting. Turbo controlers and other forms of bots are against the rules because they offer an advantage over another player to the person using the bot. SE's role is to maintain the delicate balance within Erozea, and this includes equal opportunities for it's inhabitants. The moment one group of players are treated differently than another is the beginning of the end.

I'm going to stop you there because you strike at the heart of the problem.

I am one of those people struggling to finish AF. I am missing WAR AF body fight and let me tell you there has been no one except a few close friends willing to do this one week post patch. Why do you think this is?

The truth is that PLing is only a part of the problem. The much bigger issue at hand is the lack of incomming new players. The fact is that the majority of the player base currently paying for FFXIV have been around since day one. This would have given many amongst them to ge all battleclasses to lvl 50 even without PLing. Remember that PLing was implemented as a solution to the fact that low level players couldn't find parties in the first place and wanted their high lvl friends to help out.

The major problem at hand is the lack of new players. Not enough new players makes it so that the few who join can barely find others with whom to form a party. More often than not these players will quit before their one month free trial is up if they haven't found a roup or linkshell to cruise along with. Pling allowed these players to benefit from the veteran players who may or may not have capped their battleclasses to 50 pre PL.

Unfortuneately the continued lack of new players has turned the solution around on itself only to exasperate the underlying problem at hand. The new players who only have one lvl 50 are surrounded by others who have all lvl 50s, and because they want to be part of the Crown Club they PL each others remaining classes to 50 which in the end removes all of those classes from future low lvl parties.

This is truly a vicious cycle at it's best. But the fact that lvl 50s are finding it hard to find a group to do AF runs only goes to show that lack of parties is not only a low level problem, but an end game problem too.

I suspect many new players will opt for a new world anyway, I know I would if I was starting out new, mainly because its hard to get a foothold in a world that already exists.

SE have already said they have no plans to allow existing players to move to a new world when PS3 is released because they don't want old players messing up the economy and new players being put at a disadvantage.

It never came across to me as intentional, it was more like a loop hole that the new claim system left in its wake, one which the dev team have shrugged off and is slowly eating away at the game.

The way Yoshi-p explained it was more like we can't be bothered to fix this before 2.0 so we will leave it as it is and then made the excuse of it being useful to new/low level players.

Level Sync would have been much more useful, you seem to be stuck on the fact that its unfair to new players, I'm not really sure new players care what happened prior to them joining the game, I know I wouldn't all I would care about it playing the game, which means not standing around whilst someone else plays it for me.

Well this is a big problem as well, just having one 50 isn't enough and this is why Jinko and I have been pushing hard to level because it started getting to the point where you would go to do something like Ifirit and when it switched over to being beneficial to THM. Personally I wasn't ready for that so the group in Lalapalooza I was running with advanced past me and I fell out of the loop so to say.

It's also SE fault for their primal fight designs. Look when Moogles came out everyone wanted archer and very few had it leveled so already that just dropped a ton of people from the new content making PL happen more so they can get back up there to do it.I also think it is part communities fault as well I mean you don't need to have these classes to do it there is other ways especially with the whole THM Ifirit thing when no one wanted to do it the original way that alienated so many people.

Even with some of the new content you get to these places and people ask can you heal and so on and sometimes I didn't have the proper stuff needed to participate properly which is why I stopped end game partying for abit to just get these classes done so I didn't have to worry about any future changes that always seem to be some sort of issue or require something I didn't have.

The new players suffer the most and you know I've PL'd some but in some cases it's so that some people would stay honestly. Like I run with you in Lalapalooza, Red Dot and Spoken and you never want to see someone leave because all three of the LS are great and have amazing people who are truly awesome to play with and to see people who get frustrated and fall behind only to leave without experiencing alot of the fun we have at higher levels is a shame.

That being said you can also understand the situation the higher level people are in and there has to come a point when leveling people burns you out and you just want to focus on the end game stuff you worked towards.For me I need to get my classes up so I can focus on properly being ready for the new dungeons and future content. Like I said Jinko and myself have been leveling each other basically I level one of his classes we switch and do the same (really the only reason we do it as PL is because exp is higher) but we have hit the point where we need to move up to raptors and stuff but that requires a solid exp party imo.

I would but I guess it is based on the person and their needs. Sometimes I just enjoy being in a party having a few laughs and killing crap for me it doesn't always have to be about the grind sometimes it is just fun to group up and have some fun. Also a good way to get to know some of the newer players and make friends and get them more into the game.
