THIS.
The problem is that the most of ppl that play XIV come from XI, aka they didn't play any other MMo outside XI (and XI itself wasn't a "speedy" game) .. So they are ok with this... :/

Since you're not asking this for a serious response I'll give you one anyway, it's the way the client > Server > Client interaction is, if you spin your character around in a circle you'll notice your animation for spinning differs from how someone sees you, that isn't network delay, it's purposefully designed that way.
Why should we forget about something that is integral to a large group of peoples "Optimal gameplay experience" being able to be "Primetime somewhere" is a massive advantage for people who don't play during their regions primetime hours.
So, I'd just have to say.
Community > A few MS ping.
With who to play them? Japanese players will undoubtetly retreat to their own servers as well would a large majority of others. The situation would be the same a bunch of empty servers with a single "primetime" and a few international servers that are sparesly populated 24/7...how fun.
I don't lack the foresight to see how easilly it would wreck the international community we currently have.
But...bu...teh .3ms!
people just need to stop being cheapskates if they want optimal pay max for your ips, buy the SSD's, buy the best processor and OC it then you will still say something is wrong.
example: SE make regional servers you get put on night shift good luck doing anything other than soloing.
So much SE nut hugging going on in this thread it is disgusting. Not having the a choice to play with people in your own time zone is ridiculous. It shouldn't be a crapshoot when a new player picks a server as to whether or not the majority of the populace is NA/EU/JP. This is the perfect way to turn away a customer after the free month of play.
I've seen this argument brought up so many times now. Always countered by Americans basically saying "I had almost no delay in FFXI so it must've been the same for EU!"
When SE community reps asked players to post their ping tests to SE servers we clearly saw the average EU ping time was 150ms higher than NA. So more or less 0.3 additional delay.
How about you try to actually play it from EU then we'll see what you truly think..
